she was performing an escapology trick in her stage magic show . and then she kinda passed through the portal shortly after .

while she is more than down to find her own place to live , she’s taking advantage of sword’s free housing until she finds the time to search for something more her style .

her affiliations mostly lie with the justice league dark . the only reason is that she feels the need to protect the world from being taken over by dark forces .

courtney wrinkles her nose in a failed attempt not to visibly cringe. “has anyone ever told you that your name sounds like the world’s worst off-brand cereal?“
“ OFF-BRAND CEREAL ? ” she asks with an amused smile . “ now that’s just hurtful , ” the magician will playfully pout . “ zatanna doesn’t sound like it’d be a cereal . i’d like to think the name is a worthy of a magician . ”
“Looking to intern for some of the most prolific inventors and scientists in this city is so hard when you don’t even have your credentials thanks to falling into another world all together butt naked,” @reshieldedstart
“ I MEAN IT COULD be so much worse , ” the magician says in jest . “ but i’m sure there’s got to be someone in this city who’s willing to take a chance on you . if not , maybe sword or shield could help with that . don’t quote me on that though . ”
the high priestess: how does your muse make decisions ? do they trust their instinct or would they rather trust their heart / their logic ?
zatanna makes decisions through logic rather than trusting her heart . her decisions have caused her to clash with other members of the league , but she remains unbothered by it . if she knows her decision will heed results , then she’ll do it despite clashing with her team members .
“if you don’t mind,” kyle says, slumping into the seat the other had cleared for him. he’s running on fumes, having pulled another all-nighter in an attempt to finish a commission he’d been behind on. a coffee run had been necessary, and he’s grateful for the seat amid the busy coffee shop. “thanks, zatanna. i’m glad to run into a familiar face today. any reason you’re out and about?”
“ IT’S NO PROBLEM . ” she offers the other a sympathetic smile . judging by his body language , it’s more than safe for zatanna to assume that he’s exhausted . “ mmm , no really to be honest . i just needed a change of scenery , y’know ? i can only be at the sanctum for so long . what about you , kyle ? you look a little ... tired ? ”
the emperor: how much respect does your muse have for authority ? why is this ?
zatanna’s respect for authority can be finicky . of course , it benefits her when she has the authority . but when it’s clear the person in charge has no idea who or what they’re dealing with ? her respect goes out the window and she will do what she deems is best .
cissie takes a sip of her glass before arching an eyebrow at zatanna “ what ? why ? ” they reach for the other’s glass and smalls it , with a shrug she sets it down “ new with me ? oh same old, same old. trying to find better jobs, what about you ? oh have they ? did they find anything interesting ? ”
“ I’M JUST BEING PICKY . the drink’s watered down . but they’ve gotta make their money somehow so i shouldn’t be surprised . ” she shrugs , reaching for her drink once more . “ oh ? found any jobs that’ve piqued your interest ? ” she’ll teasingly ask . “ as of right now they’re heavily relying on doctor strange and any other magic users who are willing to help out . as far as i can tell , this magic feels very emotional ? if that makes sense ? never really seen anything like it . ”
32: tell us a story of something that happened to you after 3AM when you were with friends .
“ ooh boy okay . i’m not gonna sit here and give you ALL the details but let’s just say magicians know how to party , ” zatanna chuckles at the memory . “ this doesn’t involve any of my ‘ superhero ’ friends and teammates . i was still apprenticing and i remember attending this party . it was kind of a blur to be honest , but i guess someone thought it’d be a good idea to take shots and control the weather so ... it’s after 3AM and the atmospheric pressure is low so what happens ? someone decided it’d be fun to make it rain . literally . ”
“ especially for ladies like us , i have to agree , ” wanda nods in agreement , curls bouncing as she does so . does like zatanna , there’s something calm about the woman , that allowed wanda to want to open up to her . “ just considering the aspect of the multi-verse … we don’t know enough about it , one wrong move and it could be catastrophic . ”
“ OH YEAH DEFINITELY , ” she nods . “ it’s a scary concept to think about . but it felt easy to express these concerns to wanda . there’s just something about the older witch . she gets it . “ there’s way too many variables at play and even if we have the power to solve it , there’s so much give and take . ” or rather , a sacrifice . “ to be honest , i’m not sure what’s going to happen if i find a way to get my friends and i home . ”
17: what color do you really want to dye your hair ?
“ honestly , i’m super attached to my natural color , ” fingers comb through her raven-colored locks . “ but if there was something i wanted to tru , i wouldn’t mind blonde chunky highlights . it’d be a cute look . ”
18: tell us about something dumb/funny you did that has since gone down in history between you and your friends and is always brought up .
“ oh god , ” playfully grimaces and fondly shakes her head . “ the amount of fishnets i wore . like why did no one tell me how ridiculous i looked ? looking back at it , i looked like hot topic threw up on me ! it could be worse . i could’ve been john with his trenchcoat brigade . ”
19: do you keep a journal ? what do you write/draw/ in it ?
well ... she has a journal . she’s not super big on writing her feelings down in it or anything . it’s more of a means for notetaking or drawing out concepts on whim . as of late , zee’s switched over to storing her notes on her computer .
26: what are the shoes you've had for forever and wear with every single outfit ?
“ okay so i have these cute black leather platform boots that i’ve had forever ago . i can’t even tell you where i got them because i don’t remember ! it goes with every single outfit and sometimes i’m half tempted to just wear them with my stage costume . ”
Amora glanced over to the other woman before before making a small sound under her breath. “Oh, don’t be so harsh on them.” She scolded playfully as she looked back over to him. “I don’t hate men. In fact, quite the opposite really. I adore them. Love them.” She said before looking back to the other woman with a smirk. “And what they can do for me.” Amora did love enslaving the hearts of others. Though she could go in and use whatever offensive spells and what not like any other, Amora liked to specialise her approach in lust and love. She didn’t like heavy lifting unless she had to. “Though mortal men are quite lack luster. I barely even had to bat an eyelid and he was willing to serve me. Though I am not quite sure what use I’d have for him. Mortals are so…fragile.”
PLAYFULLY ROLLS HER EYES in response to the blonde . “ i think the harshness is justified , ” zatanna half-jokes . “ i get what you mean . why make things harder on yourself when you’ve got men to lighten the load ? ” she doesn’t hate men . but she knows better than to set realistic expectations when it comes to them . she’s been surrounded by men all her life . at least some had the decency to respect her magical prowess . “ most are like that . they see a beautiful woman and all sense is lost . but wouldn’t you say that logic would apply to any man ? not just the mortal ones ? ”
she shoots lois a simpering smile as she tries her best to sit up . “ i should hope so . i’m about to be really upset if magic can’t fix me up right now . ” eyes dart to the gash on her own leg and zatanna can’t help but grimace slightly . she takes hold of lois’ hand as her other hand hovers over her leg . “ this part’s gonna hurt a little so don’t mind me squeezing your hand , ” she warns . “ laeh . ”
“ how’s that working out for you ? ” tandy couldn’t imagine her entire universe being turned upside down. then again , she also considered her world a mess when it came to being standalone without tyrone. for a while , it was just her and that was hard to deal with after the growth she’d experienced between first meeting him and being blipped. “ yeah , and we don’t know how … temporary it is , if it even is. there’s so much unknown that it’s terrifying to really spend time thinking about. ”
“ IT’S GOING FOR LACK of a better term , ” she admits with a light chuckle . zatanna has to remind herself that it’s not exactly normal to be thrust into a new world without any context . but she’s already seen her fair share of chaos because of magic . this feels a little tamer in comparison . “ at this point we can only hope to find a solution . i try not to think about the unknown too much . focus on the here and now . nothing’s ever set in stone in the future , y’know ? ” time travel complicates that .
