…From the colors I smelled from their voices, I think some wilder nocturnal squirrels got riled up from that song.

And sure, we could add something, maybe a logo! But my squirrel buddies insist on the acron–I mean acorn design. It’s a reference to Boku no Squirrel after all!

I still can’t tell if they love us or want to kill us...

[closes curtains] 

Either way, it’s terrifying and likely one of the things I’ll need therapy for later in life.

...Oui, yeah, and I understand that they’re fans of the show, but you know our band isn’t actually related to Boku no Squirrel, correct? There are similar themes in some of our songs and Wally’s there, sure, that much is unavoidable...

But let me be clear: I want to advertise my band, not Boku no Squirrel.

Do you think we could put more branding in this thing’s design? Like advertise the band or something? ...Come to think of it, should it really be shaped like an acorn?

[Takes out Xtransceiver] Let’s see... “SGPB Acron,” is that it? Why is it spelled like that?

[streams SGPB song through the speaker] Well, it does seem to work anyway.

…Well, y’see, these wealthy friends from my squirrel network happen to be fans of the hit show, Boku no Squirrel. They said we could use these acorn speakers for our merch if, at some point in the future, we….

…Either have them meet and paw-shake with Wally, or pay them in more locks of his hair in future royalties. I already gave them what I had left of that lock I kept from before. I’m sure he’d be thrilled!

Ah... Aha, hahahon! That’s great, Brock! Tres bien!

That means all we have to do is get Wally to go to that meet and whatever, or just cut more of his hair off, and then we can turn these for pure profit!

Unlimited Wally hair, unlimited acorns, unlimited money!

...Well, theoretically, that is. [Grabs the acorn]  But how do we know this thing even works?

Sorry if I gave you a scare! It’s been so long since I’ve been near a house and automatically picked the entrance nearest to a climbable tree!

This here’s not just any acorn–it’s an acorn speaker! It connects to this thing called ‘blue tooth’ and plays music! My squirrel friends hooked me up with these at a minor cost, since they’re huge fans of our band.

Wait, you’re telling me you got a working blue tooth speaker... from squirrels?

That’s also shaped like an acorn?

“That’s right - authentique from Unova!” He then made sure to add, “Sold as-is.”

       “Intimidating how…? He seemed kind of nice to me, unless he wasn’t like that towards everyone.” He was hot as hell too, wowza, “Can’t really picture him being a jerk but people are good at hiding things….”

      “Why the heck is Brock homeless? Isn’t he a Gym Leader?! Plus he’s part of the band!!! He should be loaded!”

“Well, he was nice enough to join our band and agree to have a perfume line named after him. Uh, that’s still being worked on. Don’t expect it for a while.” It was possible Touya felt intimidated by Green because of how successful he was, or maybe because he seemed to see through Touya more than he let on.

“I don’t really know why. Maybe it’s a personal choice? He seems happy with it. As for being loaded, I don’t think he’s much more affluent than me or Wally are.” Unless Brock was secretly rich and hiding it so he didn’t have to invest in the band, but Touya doubted that.

got any electronics for sale?

“Oh oui, definitely!” He did now, anyway. From his bag, Touya managed to dig out an Xtransceiver that has been broken for years.

“Uh... It’s low on batteries.”

     “Right, right…a prophecy.” Like those actually existed, was he pulling her leg or was he being legitimate? Either way, she shrugged and moved on, “Should we look for him or do you think he’ll show up eventually? Oh, and you should probably tell Jasmine about Brock. Ya know since they kinda dated….”

“I don’t know... It’s not that he’s mean or anything, but Green’s sort of intimidating... I don’t like telling him what to do.” Despite being the band’s manager, Touya usually just let Green do whatever he wanted. Perhaps not showing up to any band meetings or concerts was a little too far though.

“Quoi? Tell her about Brock? You mean that he’s homeless? I want monsieur Brock to be happy, so I’m just gonna let him break that news himself or help him lie about it if he wants.”

     “Oh. Is Brock one of those weebs I keep hearing about? I don’t think I ever watched the anime, but I am a sucker for dating games!”

“I wouldn’t say that exactly... I mean, he is from Kanto.”

“Oui, I’m pretty sure the game is something like that. It’s some kind of interspecies romance show, so I don’t really know how else they could make a game out of it. Come to think of it though, Brock did say the show is some sort of prophecy or something.”

Touya began to think about all the other things Brock said were prophecies and wondered if he should really be recommending that to their band’s only (human) fan. “Eh... Actually, it’s probably just something strange. Laisse faire, or how you say, nevermind.”

Lysander walked up slowly. His frown deepens like great oak trees. He puffed his chest out. "Give me my ring." He uttered in hushed tones.

Not again... “I said I don’t have it...!”

      “I think we should study that one dating game Boku no Squirrel to find his whereabouts! You know…the one where you play as Wally! Wait, is Green even in it?”

“Ah, oui oui! That’s that anime Brock likes! I’ve never watched or played it myself, but I don’t know how it would help us find Green. Maybe I could just ask Brock about it sometime; he’s probably knows everything about it.”

      “I could see that, he was pretty cool…and attractive. Hoo that boy.” She fanned herself down, “Too many months if you ask me!! What if they were abducted by aliens and like switched?!”

“Right, oui, I’m glad it worked. I don’t know about aliens, though...” He wasn’t too sure if the other was being serious or not, but there was that one time when everyone turned into squirrels or something. “Monsieur Green will turn up again. Probably.”

       “Nah, it’s fine. It’s not that big of a deal…” Candice sighed. Why in the world were squirrels so enamored by their performance, “How can you not know? You’re bandmates!”

“Oui, well, uh, you see... Green was supposed to be the band’s cool, stoic archetype, yes? So whenever he didn’t talk to us, I figured he was just being in character...” Touya paused for a moment before continuing, “But it’s been months now. Ahahon...”

      “Uh, I guess. Maybe my eyes were playing a trick on me. Sorry I assumed that. It’s just…I wanted to get their autographs after the concert but I couldn’t find them or you anywhere! Not only that, but I haven’t even been able to call Green…”

“Oh... We don’t have fan meets that often, and the squirrels usually don’t ask for autographs. I could probably get those for you though, if you’d actually want them. But I’m not sure what Green’s been up to either... “
