A smile formed at the Scot, giving a small nod. She couldn’t really stop her brain from overthinking it and it was making her even more nervous than before. She worked so hard to get to where she was. She even had a free ride to med school because of it. “Clinical Skills. It’s to work on doctor and patient relationships. Which…I won’t have because they are dead. And unless I missed something on the facts of life, but they don’t talk back,” she gave a shrug. “It’s a basic med school class, but kind of pointless on my end.” As she heard the question, she looked up at the redhead in thought. “Being a medical examiner is literally the only thing I’ve thought about doing since I was thirteen. My cousin is one and I saw her work her ass off to become one. There’s just some classes that don’t relate to what I’m doing, you know?”
phee responded with a lot of ‘mm’s’ and a lot of ‘ahh’s’ until she stood, at last, before the blonde with two cups of lavender tea. the redhead handed one over before taking a seat opposite of maeva. “look, i’m going to try and be real adult here, so listen to everything i say before i completely forget, okay?” the older woman joked, leaning back and taking the first sip of her tea. immediately, her body relaxed. “so, say you were driving down a road, aye? and you’ve been driving down this darn road for a long time. hours! but you know a few more, and you’ll get to where you’re going.” holding up her finger, as if fully convinced her comparison is a grand one, phee continued, “now - say you see a rock in the road. more like a small boulder. going to be a lift, need a bit of muscle. but you’ve got two options. you go and lift that rock/boulder/whatever and toss it aside, and keep going. or you turn your whole car around and go back for hours to the start of your trip. what’s your best bet?” smiling towards maeva, phee reassured her, “maeva, you’re going to move that stupid rock, and get where you’re going, and you’re going to be amazing. i know it’s tough, but they’re just small things. the classes, the doubts. i believe you can do it.”
