Ok so, there's something that happened on my 2nd watch of PHM that I've been thinking about for weeks since, and I honestly don't know why I haven't shared it here yet, but here you go
On my second watch, me and my sister had dragged our mom to watch the movie after watching it for the first time with our dad. Took a lot of bribing, but we did it, and on Monday, when there was a semi-holiday and both me and my mom were available, we went to watch it.
And during it, my mom kept asking questions and telling me things in-between.
And one in particular stuck: it was during the scene where Grace would have his first attempt at walking down the dark tunnel Rocky (who he had not met face-to-face yet) made for him to pass by. At this point, mom didn't know about Rocky, Grace didn't know about Rocky, the tunnel was dark and there was barely no sound or music.
Yet Grace still walked down the path
And my mom leaned over to me, without any context about the themes of Grace's story, and whispered "he's so brave."
And that- omg, I had to hold myself from squealing
