David Brass - The Lakes Free Range Egg Co, Penrith, Cumbria
David Brass has been producing free range eggs for 20 years at his family farm in the Lake District. Realising the benefits trees bring to free range poultry farms, he planted his first trees in 1997 to encourage his flocks to roam on the range.

We win silver medal at Chelsea Flower Show - 20 May 2014
Our Beauty Sleeping exhibit was awarded a silver medal at the 2014 Chelsea Flower Show.
Our display told the story of ancient woodland restoration and reflected the conservation theme at the heart of the show’s Discovery Zone.
Following both world wars, thousands of ancient woods were felled and replanted with fast growing conifers. This changed our natural woodland habitat casting dense shade and leaving native wildlife struggling in the dark. Although damaged, not all is lost. We are gradually and sensitively restoring ancient woods, letting in light and giving species such as bluebell, wood sorrel and early purple orchid the chance to thrive once more.
This project was a huge challenge logistically in terms of photography, it took many hours of photoshop imaging stitching with enormous file sizes in order to get the full size high resolution of a 10 x 3 metre display. The floor, ceiling and both inner and outer walls were covered in original photography showing the transition of conifer plantation to restored ancient woodland.
As the country marks the centenary of the Battle of The Somme, the Woodland Trust and National Football Museum launched For Club And Country, a project aimed at helping football fans recognise the contribution of clubs and players during WWI.
A new film about the For Club And Country project will be shown at the National Football Museum.
Woodland Trust President Clive Anderson addressed guests, discussing the importance of remembering the fascinating role played by football in the First World War. A new display and short film, to be shown in the museum’s immersive cinema space, were unveiled at the event.
People who want to get involved or find out more about the project can visitwww.forclubandcountry.org.uk
Elizabeth Truss and Rory Stewart at Griffin Primary School in London. The Woodland Trust is welcoming applications from state-funded primary schools for saplings to plant in their grounds or local communities. Schools can apply here and those that qualify will receive a pack of 30 young trees, enough to create a small copse or hedge, delivered in November 2016.
Remember football's forgotten legends.
In partnership with the National Football Museum and with backing from former England football legend Sir Trevor Brooking, we have created For Club and Country - a living and digital legacy - which gives supporters of every generation the chance join together to honour these heroes by planting trees in commemoration.
