Daniels is committed to preserving and building the legacy his championship has accumulated, while the American Nightmare has a grudge against the company, and doesn’t care how it’s settled, so long as he comes out of the arena with the belt.

(possibly because Kenny told him not to. I can so easily imagine Kenny being like “Seriously leave it alone, Cody. Anyone but him.” and Cody being all “yeah sure” but inside being like huh. that’s interesting…) and Cody did stuff before and during the match that presumably was intended to rile Kenny up

and still Kenny did nothing.
