He hadn’t exactly been surprised when Peggy showed up and just walked right in. They were on far better terms than before, and she always seemed to know when he needed her most. What did surprise him, however, was when she fetched him his favorite blanket and then disappeared into the kitchen, only to return with hot chocolate. “Peg..? What’s all this for?” Ben asked, though he certainly wasn’t opposed to any of it.
Peggy was a bit surprised at the readily given affection, but she melted into it without protest. Her head turned so that she could place a light kiss to his head, then rested her cheek against the same spot. “Unless it’s four in the morning. If you do that, I may add some rat poison for flavor.”
Ben just hummed in response. “Rat poison doesn’t have a flavor, Peg. Why do you think people use it to kill each other?” He questioned, sipping from his hot chocolate once again.
She breathed a little snicker. “I know. You’re still drinking, aren’t you?” She smirked playfully and closed her eyes, nestling into Ben.
“Are you saying rat poison has been your secret all these years?” Ben joked. “Hm, I never knew that it was the key to making delicious hot chocolate.”
Peggy let her hand rest on his chest. It was so rare for them to have these moments of total ease, and it only made them that much more wonderful. "Mm. I can neither confirm nor deny these allegations, Mister Arnold."
Fam you definitely turned your hubby gay
Why does it matter if I did or if I didn't? He has no interest in me anymore regardless.

Peggy only shushed him as she sat by his side, keeping her distance from him. Even if she had desperately missed him while he was holed up, this was solely for Benedict, and he always tensed when she passed a certain threshold of proximity. “You.” It wasn’t what he had asked, but it was the only answer he would get. She pressed the mug into Ben’s hands, then ran her fingers through his hair. “I added some milk so it won’t burn your tongue.”
“Thank you.” He took a small sip, leaning into Peggy’s touch just slightly. At this point he was too emotionally and physically drained to protest to anything she threw his way and honestly it was kind of nice to have her here. “How come you always seem to know how to make me feel at least a little better?”
She smiled softly and drew her legs up onto the sofa, pleased enough with his reaction. “Woman’s intuition.” More likely was the fact that they had been married for some time, or the fact that she absolutely adored him, but “woman’s intuition” was less risky. Peggy lay her head against the back of the sofa as she twirled his locks around her finger.
He let out a content hum and continued to drink the hot chocolate. “You always made the best hot chocolate, even though you never told me your secret to it.” He teased slightly. Ben enjoyed Peggy playing with his hair, well, he enjoyed it when anyone played with his hair.
“If I told you my secret it wouldn’t be nearly as special,” she taunted in return. Peggy’s nails gently ran over his scalp and she sighed softly, allowing worry to touch her features. Ben was a good man. He didn’t deserve all of the pain in his life.
“Oh, come on. Just tell me. I promise your secret is safe with me, so if it’s witchcraft I won’t tell.” He promised, obviously teasing. He let his eyes slip shut, her touch starting to relax him.
She laughed quietly and shook her head. She couldn’t quite decide if him joking around was a good sign or a bad one. “I’m afraid I’m sworn to secrecy.” Peggy allowed herself to scoot a bit closer to him.
“Damn. I’d hoped I could finally get it from you.” He opened his eyes again to take another drink. It didn’t seem to bother him in the slightest that Peggy had moved closer. In fact, he was completely relaxed, even the normal tenseness was gone.
"It's alright, I'll make you as much hot cocoa as you like. You won't need to make any yourself." She spent a few seconds looking him over, gauging his reaction, before closing the distance between them and curling against his side. If Ben tensed, she would just apologize and move away. After all, Peggy was genuinely trying to brighten his spirits.

Did you turn your husband gay?

“Don’t underestimate me,” she teased lightly, following close behind Maria.
Maria lead her to the baby, who was just sort of whining unhappily. “See? She’s just..unhappy.”
Peggy smiled softly down at the baby, then reached into the crib to gently pick her up. "Poor sweet girl," she cooed into the fuzz atop her head. "Have you taken her to the doctor? James whined like that when he had an ear infection."

[txt to Peg💜] i’m really not
[txt to Peg💜] the grey faces turned me into a woman and made me pregnant and i don’t know the father and i’m absolutely terrified
[txt to Peg💜] but i’ll be fine, how are you?
“Benedict, listen to me.” She drew back just enough to frown up at the other woman. “The happiest I’ve ever seen you is when I was still bloated up like a balloon and you were holding the children. I think you could use some of that happiness right now.”
“I know I could use some of that happiness.” She wiped away her tears, managing to calm down a bit. “But other people’s has to come first, you know that’s how I work. I love kids. I’ve always loved kids and I already love this one. It’s just all too much…”
Peggy nodded. She brushed a few stray hairs that were too short to stay in the braid away from Ben’s face. “I want you to do what will make you happy, sweetheart. I know I’m a lot lower on your list of priorities than Charles or Washington, but at least one person just wants you to be happy.”
“You’re gonna make me cry again.” Her voice was still trembling slightly and she took a shaky breath. “Thank you… I have one or two people that fully support me in this. So thank you. And for the record, you’re pretty high on my priority list.” She added.
She smiled faintly and bounced up onto her toes to peck Ben's cheek. "I'll always support you. You know that." Peggy's hand ran over her hair, then she took her hand. "Come on. Let's get you something to drink. I'm positive you're dehydrated."
