Hey Everyone! Daisy here with another OC who is a parasitic plant demon that can transform into a cute florist human that will steal your life essence heart through her beautiful collection of flowers which latch onto people and attempt to suck them dry…with love… . She came from the underworld to provide people with sweet flowers that have weird properties sometimes, but most of the time are really rad.

How fortunate for Milo. Already he’s secured himself a reason for life among these walls. With this knowledge, there’s a less likely chance he will be tortured to death. “Yes, you will do both. I am placing you as head alchemist, therefore, you shall have access to whatever supplies you need, and use your underlings as you see fit.” 

What the Fell God doesn’t like, however, is hearing these side effects have no solution. Milo may have been working on them for years to no avail, such results will not be tolerated here. 

“I do not have years worth of patience, human. You will find a solution, and you will improve the formula. If you think I will kill you for incompetency, I will, but you will be begging me to do so. Leave!” 

Upon his command, several guards crowd in the newly appointed head alchemist’s space, roughly guiding him to his new workshop. 

What a rotten creature-- but Milo refuses to give Grima even a passing look of fear as he’s ushered away. However, the promise of supplies and assistants gives Milo a glimmer of hope. Sure, his main goal was finding a way out and to get back to his family-- but his best interest would be to follow orders for the time being.

He could only hope he would live up to the other’s expectations...

...

Days later, Milo is neck-deep in his research, feverishly working on a way to improve his formula. He doesn’t forget his initial intention--to escape-- but... there was something a little fun with having everything he needed at his disposal. He never had to worry about finding this or that; all the ingredients were continuously delivered.

Milo didn’t want to test the concoction on humans, which is why he’d been using rats back in the day when he first created his artificual pavise. A dilemma faces him now, though, with the potion he has in front of him-- improved greatly, but still carrying many flaws. The poor rats he’d been testing on had been getting dose after dose of it... one had even died. But recently, none have even deteriorated! And he wanted to dip his toe in that final stage.

“Hm... Ahem, excuse me?” Milo turns to a young fellow nearby, fiddling with the vial in his hands. “... Do you think you could assist me? I promise I won’t hurt you.”

His first instinct is to answer a vehement no, it didn’t feel good. But the urge is fleeting, because as soon as Milo opens his mouth, he suddenly can’t find a satisfactory answer. 

The two gaze down at the body before them, though only one of them appeared nervous, with the way Milo’s eyebrows furrowed and his fingers pulled at his gloves. His eyes find the Plegian next to him, scrutinizing him. Wasn’t he going to run away and have him sent to prison for manslaughter? Yell at him for what he’s done?

“That’s a weird question to ask...” His voice is devoid of any sort of energy, making him sound much calmer than he looked. “...And awfully presumptuous, too.”

He looks away again, feeling a churn of nausea and-- curiosity?-- at the corpse, trying to sort through any thoughts he could find. Something to remind himself that he wasn’t approving of this, he wasn’t curious about this body, he wanted to think about how horrible it was that this person was dead, that if he hadn’t come on so strong about wanting them to be a test subject for whatever rotten concoction he’s made...

“I’m sorry you had to see this,” he murmurs to the stranger. “I-- It was an accident...” Milo frowns, the beginnings of a glare creeping in on his face. “Why do you look so nonchalant? You should be running to tell on me, not ask me about philosophy..”
