please laugh, it’s 4:17am here and i’m GIGGLING
finals time
influencers have become a puppet for brands to convince us to buy their product, they are truly some of the worst psy-ops to be created
as graduation nears, i surely do hope that does academic weapons who have fizzled out and reignited themselves over the years feel validated in knowing their hard work paid off.
shoutout 2024 grads! i
wine and cig post midterm bliss
why did no one tell me a gap year would be so calming yet daunting
academics and protest:
the student protest has long been a beautiful, longstanding tradition. many of the famous talking points politicians, historians and the like will use as an instance of powerful outspoken voice originated or are student protests. physically protesting in some ways is a privilege. but protesting, whether it be physically being at one, donating, volunteering, reposting etc..will always be a right. furthermore, i think it may fall in line with the duties of a student to protest in a way they see fit, for causes they believe in. a part of being a person/adult is standing up for what you believe in after all. but, regardless of how you feel about reason why protests going on at campuses around the country (including my own), from an outside scope these protests should be respected within their safe parameters. protesting is a part of healthy engagement. we should allow this to happen in the environments that directly market themselves as being venues for thought exploration and development.
join the encampment or don't. protest or don't. it is your right, duty and privilege. attacking protesters, unfairly arresting them, photographing people exercising their rights are all threats on free speech and thought exploration.
solidarity binds forever. never forget!
two wolves within me: both equally strong:
loves public philosophy.
hates interacting with the public.
its finally happened.
he is unavoidable, inconceivably so.
kant serves cunt.
modern day sentences have become so complex, long and filled with jargon from a variety of fields that is repeated misused and yet they say so little
by far one of the most radical things i think women can do about their own self-perception isn't be positive or neutral or even negative. i think just a fundamental redirection of your self-image away from the physical and into something more permeable is more worth while. i could hate or love myself, my body, my face what have you. but it is a waste of effort, at least that is what i delude myself into believing.
im back from the philosophy conference all i have to say is this:
substance over argumentation!
there is two constant battles in my mind about what i would like to do my dissertation on. i'm pretty sure im leaning towards researching incels but im not entirely sure. maybe the alignment problem but idk how i could explain the internet in a meaningful academic capacity.
there are two wolves within me:
the yapper and the nonverbal
oftentimes, they collide
the art of being a lonely smart woman
i read somewhere, long ago that subjectively smart men, say men who worked in career fields that required a high level of academic entry, often said they wanted a "smart" wife or girlfriend. this sounds basic and uninspiring. oftentimes the secondary comment regarding the perfect woman is her intelligence. but those same men in this same study when encouraged to rank different women on level of subjective "would make a good wife/girlfriend" list, women whose subjective intelligence surpassed or were at a similar level consistently ranked lower. disturbingly so, these same men resorted to base physicality in this study, which i know a lot of people would say is an important factor in spousal choice but in the long term is it truly?
its so interesting that influencers used to be this really cool instance of the public electing one of it's own talented creators to be famous vs. the traditional nepo baby hollywood cycle but it's become a shadow of itself
but how could something as shallow as influencership become a shadow of itself?
