Another one got caught today, it's all over the papers. "Teenager Arrested in Computer Crime Scandal", "Hacker Arrested after Bank Tampering"...
Damn kids. They're all alike.
I made a discovery today. I found a computer. Wait a second, this is cool. It does what I want it to. If it makes a mistake, it's because I screwed it up. Not because it doesn't like me... Or feels threatened by me... Or thinks I'm a smart ass... Or doesn't like teaching and shouldn't be here...
Damn kid. All he does is play games. They're all alike.

I never would have guessed that this excerpt of the Hacker Manifesto would relate to me as much as it does today. That I would be in the shit I'm in now.
I'm getting ahead of myself. Let me go back...
I remember the day I discovered a computer, before I knew what it was I was addicted. Don't get me wrong, I don't have an addictive personality, but this machine gave me the freedom that I felt I deserved. I used it daily... Before owning a computer of my own I would go to the library every day after school to get my online fix. I couldn't begin to tell you where I learned of the website, but all of my time was spent on a Teen Chat website where I would pretend to be someone I wasn't. It started out as a simple person, myself, just trying to make connections and have "friends" as they called them. I would talk to endless people, girls mostly, so that I could have a relationship or a friendship that I didn't have in the real world. I guess you could say that the power of the internet was more than I expected, being able to be anyone and anything that my heart desired. I would lie just to fit in with the person or persons I was currently discussing things with. I would research until I couldn't research anymore just to be in the loop and act like I knew what I was talking about. I would spend my after school hours and even the weekends at the library so I could learn more and sit there endlessly talking to people whom I would never meet face to face.
If I recall correctly, I did this for about a year before my family got their first computer and that's when things really started happening.
