Here it is - my Lunar Missions #datavisualization art, Fly me to the Moon, is complete!

Yesterday, #NASA announced the #astronauts who will fly on the #Artemis2 mission next year, and pave the way for the return of Humans to the lunar surface, which includes Christina Koch, the first woman, and Victor Glover, the first black man to be named as crew of a lunar mission.

This #dataviz artwork celebrates the dawn of a new era of lunar exploration and shows details of all the lunar missions from Pioneer, in 1958, to Artemis 1, in 2022. Swipe right for close-ups of the details.

It was immensely exciting to watch the #Nasa #Artemis 1 launch this morning. I'm beyond excited for our return to the moon, and eventual exploration of Mars! 🔥 The original moon landings were all before I was born, and I feel like I've been waiting for this moment my entire life... Artemis is a the start of a new era of space exploration, and in honour of that, my next #datavisualisation piece is going to be about all the lunar missions up until Artemis. 🔥Here it is! My completed Rogue One #datavisualisation🔥 This was a project I undertook for the Fanzine "Journey Planet", issue 65, which is all about Rogue One and has been published online today, just as the beginning of the latest Star Wars spin-off, Andor, has been released. The Fanzine is jam packed with articles & artwork all about the film - you can download it from http://journeyplanet.weebly.com/ I enjoyed working on this project a huge amount - I'm a massive Star Wars fan, and it was a lot of fun! But it really puts into perspective just how scarce women often are in the Star Wars universe, even in a film with a female lead character, which is a little disappointing.... I've not had much time for double checking things, so hopefully it's not riddled with errors... 🤞 Fixed a few minor mistakes on the printed version before sending to the fanzine editors.

I'm such a #starwars fan and I'm having so much fun with this #fanart #dataviz piece 🔥

However, working on #datavizualisation always taps into #hyperfocus for me, and the tight deadline on this project is amplifying that...

Things this is great for:

- getting huge amounts of detailed #datavisualization done in a short amount of time 🔥🔥🔥

Things this is not great for:

- Basic levels of self care (remembering to eat, drink, sleep, etc)

- household chores (despite everything I was promised by Disney films, the laundry and washing up remain peculiarly resistant to doing themselves)

- getting any actual work done....

Thankfully the deadline is tonight, so I can spend the weekend catching up on everything else!
