FTC World Recap :)

Team was picked to play in the elimination rounds but lost in semi-finals to the eventual Champions. Congrats to Cougar Robotics for Winning Alliance Captain!

Won the Connect Award, a prestigious FTC award given to the team that the judges’ feel most connected to their local community and the engineering community. 

The judges recognized that our team was more than the sum of its parts (thanks to friends and sponsors like you). This is what the judges said about the team (verbatim), “Continuously sponsoring and mentoring multiple FLL and FTC teams, this team knows how to make it loud. How loud? So loud that their on-line resources helped teams in India, Singapore and Malaysia, as well as their corner of the world. Their mission is to be the catalyst for a northern California FIRST explosion!”

National Robotics Week

We represented our robot, team, and FIRST, dedicated specifically for National Robotics Week in various demos. The events we took part in were the FRC Silicon Valley Regional FRC Tournament, the ACEC Board Meeting Demo, the Boy Scouts Dinner Demo, and the Folsom High School Engineering Challenge. We had a lot of fun during these events and we will remember them as a signature of NRW.

NATIONAL ROBOTICS WEEK

Folsom High School Engineering Challenge

We demoed the robot with the Folsom High team and Divide By Zero. Engineers from throughout California came to judge the projects! ZOOM Magazine also videotaped our robot for their website.

Demoing Our Robot at the Boy Scout Recognition Dinner

We demonstrated our robot at the Boy Scout Dinner. We answered questions dedicated towards robotics and also brought out some NXT Mindstorm robots for the children to play with. Both adults and children were able to learn a lot more about robotics.

ACEC Board Meeting Demo

We demoed at the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Board Meeting! About 40 engineering companies were represented and present at the event.

FRC Recognition and Demoing!

We got the unique opportunity to attend and be recognized as a high-achieving FTC team at the FRC Regional Tournament held at the University of California Davis. While we were there, we demonstrated our robot along with our humanoid robot: Mr.Robot!

Veggie Chase Demo

We displayed our robot and answered questions regarding FTC at the Veggie Chase in Roseville, CA. Lots of people were interested in our robot and what we were doing, so we described what FIRST was. And we also showed our robot to them!

Windows 8 App Development and C# Programming Workshop

Our team got the amazing opportunity to learn a new programming language of C#. The class was a new pilot by a Microsoft employee. We learned the basics of C# and the arts of App development. 

While we there we got to demo our robot to the other students present. Overall, the workshop gave us a new perspective to programming. 

Also, because the workshop was held at Intel, we received the unique opportunity to play around at the Intel Innovation Center.

Inderkum High Volunteering

We were able to volunteer at Inderkum High. In the morning, we volunteered as referees for the matches. In the afternoon, we demonstrated our robot and MC'ed the ending robot runs. 

We held a mock scrimmage at Vista del Lago High School against Team 4963 NOVA. We talked about robotics to students to get them involved and interesting.

NorCal FTC Championship

We were given the Inspire Award at the Northern California FTC Championship!

FLL Championship

At the Capitol FLL Championship, we volunteered as robot inspectors. Also, we demonstrated our Ring It Up robot, to get FLL team members inspired about continuing onto FTC.
