Celia Henderson
Contemporary flower photographer, Celia Henderson captures the beauty of a flower and prints them to an extensive range of materials, from canvas to fabric. Her photographs are often used for home decor design.
It seems like she often edits her photographs in post production, for example she removes the backgrounds from many of her photographs replacing it with either white, black or a particular colour that has taken focus from the photograph.

Concept 1: Flowers
For my first concept, I have chosen to use flowers. This is because I want to show nature because nature includes finer detail compared to artificial detail. And by doing this I hope to incorporate and capture that detail of flowers to produce an interesting and unusual result.

I like this photograph because the composition has created a simple and basic feel. It shows the contrast between the centre of the flower and the petals.
The main focal point of the photograph is the anthers and pollen, although it's not directly in the centre, it is the most in focus. This is framed by the surround petals, which the vans are all leading to the centre, focusing your attention to the centre and to the subject.
Overall the photograph is high key with some overexposed petals being light. It seems to be extremely close, with a calm mood carrying through.
If the petals were removed then there would be no frame focusing your attention to the subject. It would also be removing the mood entirely.
Slinkachu
Born in the United Kingdom, he did not train as a professional photographer, but he taught himself when starting his 'Little People Project' in 2006. In his work he intends to 'encourage city-dwellers to be more aware of their surroundings', his photographs show a lonely life in the city like 'being lost and overwhelmed' but also showing a humorous side to the miniatures actions.
I have chosen to study his work because of the minute detail that is seen within his photographs. He uses miniature models in his photographs which interests me because although the photographs are taken at such a small scale to match the miniature models size, there is a large amount of detail in the surroundings, such as the concrete in many of his photographs.
The Last Resort
My first impressions of this photograph are that it gives off warm and summer feelings, this is due to the bright colours of the focal point, because the background is actually monochromatic. It also gives the impression of the palm tree being distant and isolated, its extremely out of place.
I like this photograph because the composition of the miniature models shows that, although not all visible, there's a huge amount of detail in both the foreground and the background, it's interesting because although you can not see all the detail at the closest and furthest points of the photograph because they are out of the depth of field and therefore not in focus, you know that there is still a huge amount of detail, for example you can just about see that there's a fence along the left of the photograph.
This photograph uses the rules of thirds, the palm tree and tennis ball are on the first vertical line which is the main focal point. If I was to change anything in the photograph, I would have taken the photograph closer to the focal point so that it fills the whole frame.
The main focal point of the photograph is the palm tree and tennis ball, this is because the depth of fields puts everything else out of focus, so it quickly becomes the centre of attention.
Overall the photo is generally high key with bright colours from the palm tree leaves and tennis ball. There's a happy and warm mood to the photograph because it seems like a holiday.
In my opinion the photographer has show this photo so that the background is still clear despite being out of focus, the background being clear seems to be common through many of his photographs. He doesn't seem to major editing on his photographs.
Boys Own Adventures
My first impressions of this photograph are intriguing, strength and destruction.
I like this photograph because it draws your attention towards the focal point of the lego brick. It seems obvious the photographer aimed for the lego brick to be the focal point instead of the cars because it seems like the miniature model is about to throw the, seemingly large, lego brick on to the cars, causing total chaos.
The main subject of the photo is the lego brick and the miniature models. The city in the background shows the type of the location.
Many of the colours are bland, with the exception of the bright red brick, creating an aggressive atmosphere.
The photo would be rather boring if the foreground was removed, it would become ordinary and basic, so without the foreground the point would be lost.
Concept 2: Lego
For my second concept idea, I have chosen the theme of ‘lego’.

Introduction
For this project, I intend to explore detailed photography, by using this I am going to use the concept of detail as a stimulus to focus my ideas and techniques. I want to recreate and develop on the photographs by other photographers and show how detail is important in photography and how it shows a different viewpoint from the norm.
I chose this theme because this theme stood out for me, and instantly gave me ideas and subjects to explore. I specifically like this and find the concept fascinating because of the potential to learn new techniques and develop my ideas in a different and unique way.
Throughout this project I will record thorough and relevant research, carry out various photo shoots based on my research, explain any techniques, Photoshop processes, and development, decide a final photograph and finally evaluate it.
