Photoshop Loft is all about photoshop! Everything is mine, except fonts, unless stated otherwise. Please read the Rules section before using my resources.

Making Letters 3D 

There is more than one way to make letters/words 3D. I'm going to show you an easy way.

Step One- Open a new document. Any size. I did 500x300. I used a black fill.

Step Two- Write the word or letter you want. I used white font color to really contrast the black. The font I used is Constantia.

Step Three- Right click the text layer and rasterize the layer.

Step Four- Edit-Transform-Perspective. Drag the left bottom corner to make the text transform. It should look like the photo above.

Step Five- Double click on your text layer, or right click and select blending options. Choose Bevel and Emboss and make your settings as follows.

You're done!

(Note: Your settings may be different if using a different font. I've only tried this on two different fonts and the setting were not the same. Just mess around with the settings until it looks good.)

Graphic Tutorial - Animation

In this graphic tutorial I'm going to be showing you how to do animation. This tutorial is focusing on animation only, so ignore the roughness of the people in the graphic as they were not blended.

Here is the file with all photos and textures used in this graphic.

Step one - 

Open a new document: 650x200 white.

Step Two - 

Open Texture One and place onto your document.

Step Three - 

Open Texture Two and place onto your document. Move around to your liking. 

Set to overlay.

Step Four - 

Apply this PSD and set to 50% opacity

Step Five - 

Place Texture Three.

Set to soft light.

Step Five - 

Open and place Selena-Normal and Selena-Motion.

Scale to fit to the document. 

Move both layers to the left making sure to keep them together. (You can select both layers..select first Selena, hold down the shift key, and select second Selena layer, then using the move tool move them at the same time to keep them together.)

Looking at the photo you will see that only one Selena layer is showing in the graphic, but the normal Selena layer is hidden behind the blurry motion Selena.

Step Six - 

Open the Harry photo and place to the left of the graphic.

Make sure he is bigger than Selena and overlaps her slightly on the right.

Step Seven - 

Open Texture Four and place to the right over the lower half of Selena and slightly over Harry's arm.

Set to 80%.

Step Eight - 

Text.

Using the text tool type the word "Chasing" using the font of your choice. I used Charlemagne std at 48pt. Place this text over the cloud texture.

Creating another text layer type "Maizzee" using the same font and font size. Place it just below "Chasing."

Apply a stroke of #d2d0d0 set at size of 2px to both text layers.

Apply drop shadow to both text layers.

Step Nine - 

Apply PSD. (Link will send you to the download link for the PSD back. Once downloaded apply PSD 14 to your graphic.)

Stpe Ten - 

Here is where we will create the animation.

At the bottom of photoshop you should see the timeline. Click "Create frame animation"

In the layers panel turn off the layers; blurry Selena, "Chasing" text, and "Maizzee" text.

Click the little icon under the frame that looks like a piece of paper with the side folded up. This will duplicate the frame.

In the layers panel turn on the blurry Selena layer.

Duplicate the frame. Turn on the "Chasing" text layer.

Duplicate the frame turn on the "Maizzee" text layer.

Set each frame to 0.5 seconds. Set the time from "Once" to "Forever".

Play the animation to make sure it looks correct. If done correctly it should look like this. (Graphic is too large to show on tumblr.)

Graphic Tutorial 2

This is a VERY simple graphic (Sometimes it's fun to just make something simple) Line texture used-Credit goes to owner

Step One Open a new document: 500x200 - White

Step Two (Making the two bars) Choose foreground color you would like to use. I used #faeaa0 Choose the rectangle tool. Make a long narrow rectangle. Place it on the left side. Duplicate rectangle layer. Place on the right side.

Step Three Open picture of Shay. Drag the picture to your document and place in the middle. No need to resize or erase her background since it's white. Move her layer under the two rectangle layers and above the background layer.

Step Four Open texture and drag to document. No need to resize. Place on the left side of graphic. Set on darken at opacity 20% Duplicate layer and place on right side (The textures will be over Shay but that's ok.) Merge both layers. -Have one texture layer selected, hold shift on keyboard, click on second texture layer, right click - merge layers.

Step Five

Use a hard brush to erase the parts of the texture that are covering Shay.

Step Six Select Shay layer Create an adjument layer - bottom of layer palette. It's the circle. Choose vibrance and set to -80 (Note:This should only effect the Shay layer.)

Step Seven Select top layer (should be rectangle layer) Choose foreground color of your choice. (I used #dddbd9) Make a gradient layer. - On the menu choose layer - new fill layer - gradient. Make sure it's set to foreground to transparent. Set opacity to 70%

You can stop here or continue and add some text

Step Eight-Optional Set foreground color to whatever you like.

Note: How I chose my color choice See the pink color on Shay's boydy by her hair? Take the eyedropper tool and click there to get that color.

Choose font. I used Today's People (Can be found on dafont) Font size - 72pt

Write Shay

Right click the text layer - blending modes - drop shadow, stroke (set at 1pt with a color of #f8e7e7)

Write Mitchell

Right click the text layer - blending modes - drop shadow, stroke (set at 1pt with a color of #f8e7e7)

Step Nine Flatten image Sharpen (optional) - Will look like very first picture in this post showing what we'll make. Without sharpen it will look like the picture above.

Graphic Tutorial

Let's make this! Note: None of these stock photos are mine. Credit goes to the owners of these photos and the owner of the texture that was used. If your are the owner and see this, then let me know and I will credit you.

Another note:This graphic is made using photoshop cc, but should be translatable.

~Photos to be used~

Step One Open new document. 500x200. Background-white.

Open house photo and drag to your document. Don't resize. Place over the whole document. Blending mode-Luminosity

Step Two Open peeling photo and drag to your document. Don't resize. Place in left corner. Blending mode-Dark. Take a hard brush and erase the part of the photo that shows on the staircase. We only want it to show on the wall.

Step Three Open cracking photo and drag to your document. Resize until it's small enough to where it only covers the windows. (Chances are it's going to slightly cover more but that's ok) Blending mode-Darken. Opacity-70%. Take a hard brush and erase where the texture is showing other than on the windows.

Step Four Open cloud texture (the one that looks completely white. It's transparent so you can't see the cloud) and drag to your document. Don't resize. Place in middle of graphic. Opacity-40%.

Flatten image.

Step Five Open photo of Nina Dobrev. Use the quick selection tool to select only her. Click refine edge. (If it's not shown on the tool bar go to Select-refine edge.) Note:I like to set the background to transparent. Once you like what you see then under "Ouput to" choose either "New Layer" or "New Layer with mask". It's best to choose "New layer with mask" so that you can erase/add parts of the photo if you need to, but for this I just chose "New Layer"

Drag Nina to your document. Resize so that she's small enough to look as though she's leaning against the doorway on the left side of the graphic. Blending mode-Luminosity. Duplicate Nina layer- blending mode-color. Opacity-40%.

Step Six Add text" Stairway to the" Font-Trajan Pro Font size-11pt. Rotate to fit along railing.

Add text "unknown" Font-Trajan Pro Font size-9pt. Rotate slightly to go along railing Note:I added a somewhat light gray stroke set at 1pt on both texts, but that's optional.

Step Seven Just to add some color let's add a gradient layer. Have color set to #f8e3c7 (or color of choice) Layer-New fill layer-gradient. Make sure it's set on color"transparent and set the angle to -90. Click ok. Blending modes-color burn Move layer down so that it's right above the background layer and underneath the other layer.

Flatten image.
