dogs or cats: depends on the dog? I love little dogs but, only when they belong to someone else? big dogs tend to be more mellow.. while lol lil noise machines in my experience, and I sleep little enough as is. Otherwise cats. Always had a cat in the house, since I was a baby. My mom’s blind cat used to sleep with me in the crib. She lived 19 years (til I was about 18, almost 19.)

However I currently live on what equates to a cat farm so this kind of thing is the norm outside of my room…

Why I Made This Blog: I was in the early days of fanfic reading and was getting into the fics on Tumblr. Learning how to use the website and show my appreciation for the writers I realized I need a blog to not only navigate their fics better but also to reblog and like fics.

Reason For URL: The Sleep One is actually a nickname my friends gave me after I kept falling asleep while with them. Remember the nightmare thing? Well I’ve had that for basically my whole life. I run on caffeine and if I don’t have it then you will be talking to a corpse. According to my friends I also snore and sleep talk so good luck with that.

Why I Made This Blog: It was a backup that became my main due to a friendship turned sour that resulted in me losing my old blog. But I only worked on it for about a year, this one is like 5-6 years strong I think.

Reason For URL: I found an adorable recipe to make tiny green frog boba with faces and cute pink cheeks, but being as scatterbrained as I am I forgot the word "boba" and just called them frog balls. I switched up the spelling and TADA!!!

Dream Job: Oof, that's a tough one. My dream job used to be a zookeeper, working with animals and making sure they're healthy and educating people about them. But if I'm being COMPLETELY honest, it's being a witch! My dream is owning a small farm in the middle of nowhere, growing my herbs and making small packages to sell full of herbs and spices, tea, rituals, and a few art pieces I made. Just raising my farm with animals, my gardens, and my craft. But I gotta get to a comfy place first in this world before I do that.

This is a lovely example of a dog inviting another to play. Note the pricked up ears, the relaxed brow, body is erect but also relaxed, plus the jaunty tail. This is a happy, relaxed & full dog. The hops get progressively shorter as the husky gets nearer, and they never actually get up into the other dog’s space. The invitation is respectful.

The other dog is also giving good signals, similarly erect-but-relaxed stance with pricked up ears and waving tail. But the husky knows this can’t be assumed to be a resounding “yes”, it’s just an absence of a ‘no’. The husky waits for a clear ‘yes’, and the shepherd accepts the invitation and is the one to actually initiate play, with that front right paw.

Beautifully civilised interaction, with mutual respect on both sides. Wish more humans knew how to do this, too.
