week 8
I have not learned very much with this since I did not have the time to practice but next time I will be choosing something that can work along with my schedule.
I learned several different chords of the ukulele and can play several simple songs. I wish  could have practiced more…
This week I learned some new chords. This will be beneficial in playing a song by the end of week 8. I need to continue on practicing my transitioning in order to play well.
Another thing is, my ukulele is out of tune which makes it sound quite horrible. I have ordered a tuner off amazon so I can tune it.
Hope my final product will make this 20% time project worth it.
Week 6
A lot has happened the past few weeks, especially the passing of Ms. Neumann. During my spring break I was unable to bring my ukulele with me to my dads so I got zero practice time for all of spring break. Last week I was practice up until I heard the news on Thursday about the passing of Ms.Neumann. Since then I tried to distract myself with other things but it wasn't really working. Anyways my ukulele skills are terrible and I regret choosing this for my 20% time but I must finish. My goal was to be able to play somewhere over the rainbow but it looks like I will play a way easer song or four chords from my initial song goal. Sorry :-(
Week 5
So this week I have not practiced AT ALL
I have had swim meet and practices that give me no time to spend on playing the ukulele. When I started this I was done with water polo and had a two week gap between swim and polo due to clearance issues which gave me time to learn.Â
I come home at around 7 and do my homework then go to bed. Over the weekend I have work and my internship so that also interferes. I kind of wish I chose something else that I could do in class. :(
Hoping to get more time to practice next week but I doubt it. Again I have swim and on Friday I will be flying out to Las Vegas to visit my dad so I can assure you that I will not be practicing the ukulele instead of spending time with my father. This sucks ...Â

Week 4 + Video
So it’s week four of my twenty percent time project and I have finally learned a song on the ukulele Despite my troubles of having time to practice I feel accomplished that I had time to learn this song. I recorded it on my camera so I will have it uploaded shortly. Also, I feel that chord transition has been getting easier for me but I do think my ukulele is out of tune at the moment which makes the music sound worse.
Week 3
So unfortunately I haven't had much practice this week due to swim. I had a swim meet all day on Saturday and one on Wednesday. Also, varsity swim practice is extra exhausting so by the time I get home I am completing my homework and going to sleep. Anyways I have been practicing the transitioning of chords very little this week and that is about all. Hope I can get some further practice on week 4
So unfortunately I do not feel comfortable with my ukulele skills to post a video this week but I believe I have come far since last week. I can strum it quite well but I do need lots of practice with it because I sometimes find myself missing strings, playing too softly, or playing to loudly. I haven’t really found that balance yet and am close to getting it. As far as the chords go I have been practicing my transition from chord to chord but I find it to be quite challenging. I learned you switch chords after the last up strum for that chord. I also am going to buy a tuning clip off amazon because I tried apps and such but I don’t feel that the sound it produces is right. I will for sure post a video up next week because by then I should be decent at strumming and learning chords. I’m not sure how I am going to fit it in much practice time due to swim season starting but I’ll try my best. Till next time :) -Amber
Week 1
Hey guys! So by today (15 Feb 2015) I have learned to strum and tune (i think) the ukulele which took a bit of time than I had expected. I am in the process of learning the chords and switching them when I play so hopefully by next week I can post a video of my progress!

Day 3- This was up in Big Bear last year.
I will be posting my photos for day 3 and 4 today, but I thought it was very important to say I drank my first glass of eggnog of the season today. It was a great day.

I used the grid on my camera to get a better connection with the focal point. Not centering your photos creates a better picture.Â
