@pianohamlet
pianist and his metronome cat
Bach is really pissing me off bye
What’s wrong with this picture?
Ah, Mozart. The one who had 20 kids, lived in Italy, and wrote that one overture with cannons.
wasn’t he the one who jumped into the Rhine or something like that?
I thought he died if pneumonia, then his buddy got with his wife.
wait, wait wait. this is the racist anti-Semetic one!
I was sure that he was the one who impaled himself while conducting…
isn’t this guy the one who used a hammer in one of his symphonies?
nah i think this was the guy who was hated by stalin
Nononono, that one depressed guy with those damn big hands, right?
Sure any rabbit can play Hungarian Rhapsody #2, but one with only 8 fingers? That sounds impossible.
Today is Franz Liszt’s 204th birthday, by the way.
Praise the god of piano music today!
Don’t just make classical music live on, make it thrive!
Thoughts about Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto no. 2? ^_^
Omg I love Rachmaninoff so ofc I love that concerto :D It’s so epic. My favorite concerto by him is either the 1st or the 2nd. Maybe someday I’ll play it!! My friend at umcanyounottho.tumblr.com is a hardcore Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2 fan if you want to talk to someone about it lol.
I absolutely love it! but the really interesting thing about is the story behind! Rachmaninoffs premiere of his first symphony went wrong because the conductor was drunk, and well, critics didnt like it. Rach was depressive for two years and didnt write anything because he thought all of his ideas were too bad. His first work after his intense hypnotherapy was the Piano Concerto No. 2. And i personally think you can hear, that it contains everything that he felt during those 2 years! And that makes it a very, very unique concerto! It is the first classical piece that i heard, and i was absolutely stunned. Actually that much, that i started to play the piano!! Its just perfect! I could write for hours.. But i’ll stop it here :D Thank you, Rachmaninoff, for writing pure perfection!
So in our digital photography class, we are allowed to roam about the school for photos. Naturally I went to the band room, and took shots of the instruments that mean the most to me.
What I though when buying the score for Liszts La Campanella! The after 10 minutes in practise: OH HELL NO!
Too much vibrato is like too much icing on cake. Some people like it. I am not one of those people.
Composers According to Tumblr
Bach — Have you heard the good news about our Lord and Saviour Herr Baroque Sassmaster? Haters can fugue off.
Haydn — pretty much a source of puns about his name
Handel — such pretty choral music! I can’t even Handel it! Teehee…
Brahms — beard guy
Beethoven — do not fight Beethoven. I MEAN IT DO NOT FIGHT BEETHOVEN! YOU DON’T STAND A CHANCE!!!
Mozart — *loving voice* ‘Wolfie, you little shit…’
Schumann — wasn’t he married to Clara or something…?
Schubert — precious tiny morbid Austrian. Composed cute little songs that are actually about death.
Wagner — bastard
Rossini — delivered sick burn to Richard ‘Dick’ Wagner, therefore we love him.
Chopin — *sobbing pianist voice* ‘You cause me nothing but pain! Why do I still love you?’
Liszt — Chopin’s boyfriend with the yaoi hands
Mahler — he loves hammers
Tchaikovsky — he loves cannons
Shostakovich — beautiful Stalin-hating cinnamon roll to good for this world, too pure
Stravinsky — You sure love sacrificing virgins. Are you alright, lad…?
Glass — he repeats himself he repeats himself he repeats himself
Strauss — Der Rosenkavalier = hot mezzos in armour = everyone’s happy
The amount of actual accuracy in this post is beautiful
hmmm

Also one time he was supposed to write a violin and piano duet, and he wrote the violin part, but he didn’t really feel like writing the piano part, or was too lazy etc. When the concert came up (he played the piano while a fiend played the violin) he set up a blank piece of paper (so people would think he was reading music) and improvised. After the concert he wrote it down so it could be published
okay i’ve reblogged this before but can we just give a shoutout to the orchestra that had to sightread the overture to an audience at the premiere of an opera
gotta love mozart!
Words cannot describe how much I adore this piece.
Franz Liszt, ladies and gentlemen! Regular people pray to god, I pray to Liszt!
Still Life with Violin, Bow, and Sheet Music, 1903, Nicholas Alden Brooks
This is so damn sexy! You know, i actually must admit that, eventhough I prefer the piano, I would kinda look odd in a set up like this :D
