london was bustling with life in a way dublin could only hope to achieve one day, and this combined with the newness and unfamiliarity of everything had forced izabela to step out for a moment - alone for the first time since she left the old apartment in dublin. she breathed in the crisp air, soaked in the sun while it was still out and walked around kensington gardens before plotting down on a bench. she hadn’t seen the stranger already sitting there, too wrapped up in her own mind to notice, and cast her a curious glance. the white nightgown the young girl donned certainly stood out against her own wool coat and scarf, and izabela’s motherly instincts soon came into play.     ❛  you look like you do not belong outside the walls of a bedroom — what are you doing out here? you will freeze.  ❜

i really want to love the movie version of once as much as i love the stage adaption but i really can’t. i like it, a lot, but it didn’t have that emotional punch that i feel the stage version has. it could also be that i find the age difference between glen and mar a little uncomfortable and that it sort of “overshines” the brilliance of the movie in some way but to be honest i’m not really sure. anyway, here’s your friendly reminder that i won’t be using mar as a face claim and that i will for the most part steer clear of the movie considering my portrayal of girl.
