Louis Fratino: Sleeper
My friend Ahmed is a studious, curious child, but Israel's genocidal campaign against Gaza has taken everything from him. His family lives out of a damaged tent, and rely on his vetted campaign for survival. They have struggled to afford enough food for many months. His body is starting to break down from this prolonged malnutrition, causing him to live with persistent dizziness, vomiting, and intense pain down to his bones.
Bro wtf I had to check if this was real
I profoundly dislike this woman, but I think it is disingenuous to present a paraphrase as a quote. The closest I found to her actually saying that is:
"When peace comes we will perhaps in time be able to forgive the Arabs for killing our sons, but it will be harder for us to forgive them for having forced us to kill their sons. Peace will come when the Arabs will love their children more than they hate us." Golda Meir - A land of Our Own, an ora autobiography (1973) That's how it's gonna be a little worse.

In just a few moments, we lost everything. Our tent was burned after a strike hit nearby, leaving us with no shelter, no clothes, no blankets, and none of the basic necessities of life. My children and I are facing extremely difficult days without protection and without a safe place to stay.
I humbly appeal to kind-hearted people to stand with us during this hardship. Any donation, no matter how small, can help us secure shelter, clothing, and essential needs so that we can begin rebuilding our lives. Thank you for your compassion, support, and generosity.

A Reminder to Self:
“I am the changeless fact of reality (pure awareness) that witnesses all that comes and goes. Dissolving identification with what we are not is our highest spiritual practice.” -Anon I mus (Spiritually Anonymous)
Do not limit yourself to a finite identity or take yourself to be any passing mental/emotional state or experience. You are non-local field of unchanging presence beyond the content of all momentary experiences. Thoughts and experiences cannot even appear without your awareness of them. Remain as the timeless observer of every changeful experience; whatever is appearing has your permission. You (at the deepest level) are perfectly whole, still and at peace without fear or desire. You are not what you perceive (an object), you are knower that which changelessly perceives. The content of all experiences cannot affect your beingness in anyway.

The Big Tech companies developing AI already have far too much power over our lives. We need lawmakers who won’t sell out our future to the whims and profit margins of Big Tech. We need regulations in place to keep up with AI development and guard against its potential harms. AI could be a net good for society. Or it could be a wrecking ball. Its future is not written in stone. It is written in code and we still have time to shape it.

The holiday is approaching… and every day my son stands watching the children joyfully buying their new clothes. Then, with innocent eyes, he asks me, “Dad… what about me? Don’t I get any new clothes for Eid?” And I have no answer… only the silence of a broken man hiding his tears from his child. 💔
I'm a father who doesn't want the impossible… I used to work and dream of providing my child with a simple and secure life, but my injury prevented me from working, and the war took everything from us. Today, I'm unable to even buy my child a small piece of clothing to make him happy for Eid. The hardest feeling in the world is seeing your child wish for something simple and being unable to provide it.
