Zapiramo Pici Bici Butik - The end of Pici Bici Bicycle Boutique
Dragi kolesarji, simpatizerji, nergači, navijači ... prijatelji. Danes vas nagovarjamo s težko, a globoko premišljeno novico.
Odločitev ni bila lahka. Prihodnost Pici Bicija je bila pod vprašajem že od pomladi, ko nas je Nova Ljubljanska banka obvestila, da nas meče na cesto. Sprva se je obvestilo nove lastnice stavbe, v kateri se nahajamo, zdelo kot dobra spodbuda za nadgradnjo v boljši prostor. V času iskanja prostora pa so se nam razjasnile marsikatere stvari.
V šestih letih nam je iz nič uspelo ustvariti več, kot bi si lahko kadarkoli želeli, verjamemo tudi, da bi v nadaljnjih šestih letih zgradili še veliko več. Pici Bici je iz skromne ideje štirih prijateljev zrasel v kolektiv enako mislečih kolesarskih navdušencev in končno odrasel v zrelo idejo z jasnim ciljem.
Kolesarski butik smo začeli kot drugačno trgovino s servisom. Vedno smo se trudili prodajati kakovostne kolesarske dele po čim bolj normalnih cenah, svetovali smo vsakemu, ki se je obrnil na nas in v trgovino sprejeli prav vse, brez diskriminacije. In postali edina specializirana trgovina koles, sestavljenih po naročilu, z močnim poudarkom na jeklenih okvirjih. Pici Bici Kolesarski butik je bil zbirališče širokoglednih ljudi, ki jim kolesa predstavljajo pomembno stvar v življenju. A vseeno to ni bilo dovolj za tisto najbolj bistveno. Nadaljevanje zgodbe Pici Bici v novem prostoru tik pred zimo je namreč preveč tvegano.
Na preteklih šest let gledamo s ponosom. Uspelo nam je ustvariti kolektiv kolesarjev, ki bo Pici Bici zgodbo nadaljeval še dolgo po 30. septembru, ko bomo zaprli svoja vrata. Ustanovili smo kolesarski klub, katerega člani dosegajo zavidljive rezultate na domačih in tujih tleh. Organizirali smo dogodke, ki so postali znani po vsem svetu ter poskušali obujati ciklokros in dirkališčno kolesarstvo. Povezovali smo gorske kolesarje s cestnimi, izobraževali o alternativah mestnega kolesarjenja in širši javnosti predstavili potovanje s kolesom.
Do 30. septembra 2017 bo Pici Bici butik na Celovški cesti 50 deloval kot do zdaj. Od danes naprej so vsi izdelki na odprodaji. Če pa želite kolo sestaviti po naročilu ali pa imate kakšne posebne želje, nam še vedno lahko pišete na elektronsko pošto, tudi po omenjenem datumu zaprtja.

Dear riders, supporters, fans ... friends. Today we are addressing you with a difficult, but well thought-out news nonetheless.
This decision was not an easy one to make. The future of Pici Bici has been under question since this spring when the new owner of our place, the NLB bank informed us that they would evict us as they intend to raze the building to the ground. At first, this seemed as a good chance for us to upgrade to a better place. During the search for space, however, many things have been clarified as we envisioned a different future for Pici Bici and ourselves.
In the past six years, we managed to create more from skratch than we could ever imagine, and we also believe that we would be able to build so much more in the six years to come. Pici Bici grew from the modest idea of four friends to a collective of equally minded cycling enthusiasts and finally grew up into a grown up idea with a clear goal.
We started the bicycle boutique as a different bike shop with a quality service. We have always tried to sell quality cycling parts at the most normal prices, we advised anyone who turned to us and accepted everything in the store without any discrimination. Eventually we became the only specialized shop for custom-made bicycles with a strong emphasis on steel frames in Slovenia. Pici Bici was a gathering place for people who see bikes as an important thing in life. But this was not enough for providing what’s most essential; finances. Continuing the story of Pici Bici in the new space just before winter is too risky.
We are proud of these past six years. We managed to create a team of cyclists who will continue to tell the story of Pici Bici long after September 30th, when we close our doors. We have established a cycling club whose members achieve enviable results on both domestic and foreign soil. We have organized events that have become famous all over the world and have tried to promote cyclocross and track cycling in Slovenia. We connected mountain bikers with road cyclists, educated about alternatives of urban cycling and brought bikepacking and bike touring to the general public.
Until September 30, 2017, the Pici Bici boutique on Celovška cesta 50 will work as per usual. From today onwards, all products are on sale. However, if you want to make a custom-made bike or have any special wishes, you can still email us, even after the said closing date.
