"Doesn't sound like any group I've ever heard of. Definitely not a subbranch either, by the sound of it. You part of The Mercenaries' Guild? 'Cause I don't think so. I can help, or try, but no promises I can get you where you're going. Oh, and I'm FenEx, bee-tee-dubs, nice to meet you!"

"um no though I have been to mercenaries guild conventions Team Fortress Industries is kinda its own thing and their a bit secretive. You might know them as the guys that sell hats with Mann Co"

"Nope, never heard of 'em!" They look up with a smile. "Also, not sure which subbranches do conventions, but there's so many that at least one probably does. Anyway, you said you needed to get somewhere, right?"

"yeah probably should also check if I got injured I mean I don't usually fall off the back of a motorcycle"

"Can't do much about injuries, but I might be able to get you where you're going! Any idea where it might be? Like, you got a direction?"

Vice looks around for a second before pointing to the right in the direction the road continues "not sure if it's a straight line though"

FenEx cocks their head in the indicated direction as the tentacle-like appendages on their back move with an unseen breeze.

"Got a few signatures. How fast can you run?"

"um some what decently fast I think?"

"By human standards, or? 'Cause I'm about as fast as it gets for most people."

"Ah. Gonna have to slow down so you can keep up. Not a huge deal, though, follow me!"

FenEx starts into what looks like a steady, gentle, and slow jog, but it's moving about as fast as the average human can run.

"Feel free to call for a slowdown! Y'know, if ya need it!"

Vice runs alongside FenEx

After some time, it begins to slow down again. There's clear signs of activity in the area, but the people responsible aren't around at this exact moment.

"This look like your guys' doing?"

Vice picks up a few bullet casings from the ground "Dee has custom bullets these are definitely from his mini gun"

FenEx's back tentacles begin to move again.

"Signatures nearby, might be your crew."

They dart off in a direction, but not too fast as to where Vice can't follow. It's not long before he reaches what appears to be a base of some kind.

"This your destination?"

"given the amount of the color orange yes I'd guess so"

"Cool! First try!" FenEx gives Vice a broad smile. "Guessing you don't need anything else?"

"you could come in if you want... pretty sure the team would like to thank you for getting me back here"

"Can if you want. Not sure I've got much to offer though." He shrugs, indifferently. "Don't matter either way to me, I ain't busy."

"I mean you don't have to if you don't want to"

"Don't mind either way. Like I said, not busy, so have time to meet the team."

"come on in then warning their first reaction will be to point a gun at you"

"Strange, but fair. Sure I'll be fine. Wanna lead the way?"

FenEx just stares straight down the barrel in silence, confident that it could dodge the bullet if things came down to that.

"who is this you know we can't have civilians on base" Artemis clacks his beak slightly

"they helped me get back after falling off of the motorcycle thought they might like to meet the team...plus their not a civilian their a mercenary"

"FenEx, nice to meet you!" It extends its hand to Artemis for a shake.

Artemis hesitantly shakes it's hand

"Not big on outsiders? I can respect that."

"Artemis isn't big on most people in general" Vice explains "but TFI is pretty secretive so usually people outside the team aren't allowed on base"

"Tracks. Lots of people like that in the Guild. Just how it goes in the business."

Vice nods slightly "makes sense what we do isn't fully legal"

FenEx shrugs.

"Depends where. This Earth's mostly pretty restrictive for merc work, other places not so much."

"never been to another earth before"

"Few have. Maybe someday, though. Who knows?"

"maybe Australiaum can do some crazy stuff we've been to the moon before"

"No clue what that is, but maybe! Also plenty of portals and the like in this general area, very dimensional unstable."

"oh well I hope engies teleporters don't break because of that"

He shrugs.

"Intradimensional is usually fine, especially short range, but just be careful."

"Sounds good! Probably gonna take a bit to get used to this place, but should be fine."

"currently we're trying to make the teleporter long distance so we don't have to drive everywhere"

"Can't do much about injuries, but I might be able to get you where you're going! Any idea where it might be? Like, you got a direction?"

Vice looks around for a second before pointing to the right in the direction the road continues "not sure if it's a straight line though"

FenEx cocks their head in the indicated direction as the tentacle-like appendages on their back move with an unseen breeze.

"Got a few signatures. How fast can you run?"

"um some what decently fast I think?"

"By human standards, or? 'Cause I'm about as fast as it gets for most people."

"by human standards"

"Ah. Gonna have to slow down so you can keep up. Not a huge deal, though, follow me!"

FenEx starts into what looks like a steady, gentle, and slow jog, but it's moving about as fast as the average human can run.

"Feel free to call for a slowdown! Y'know, if ya need it!"

Vice runs alongside FenEx

After some time, it begins to slow down again. There's clear signs of activity in the area, but the people responsible aren't around at this exact moment.

"This look like your guys' doing?"

Vice picks up a few bullet casings from the ground "Dee has custom bullets these are definitely from his mini gun"

FenEx's back tentacles begin to move again.

"Signatures nearby, might be your crew."

They dart off in a direction, but not too fast as to where Vice can't follow. It's not long before he reaches what appears to be a base of some kind.

"This your destination?"

"given the amount of the color orange yes I'd guess so"

"Cool! First try!" FenEx gives Vice a broad smile. "Guessing you don't need anything else?"

"you could come in if you want... pretty sure the team would like to thank you for getting me back here"

"Can if you want. Not sure I've got much to offer though." He shrugs, indifferently. "Don't matter either way to me, I ain't busy."

"I mean you don't have to if you don't want to"

"Don't mind either way. Like I said, not busy, so have time to meet the team."

"come on in then warning their first reaction will be to point a gun at you"

"Strange, but fair. Sure I'll be fine. Wanna lead the way?"

Vice leads the way inside "your about to meet a lot of bird folk just so you know"

FenEx follows along, casually.

"No problem with that, so long as they got no problem with me."

Vice pushes the gun away "calm down Artemis"

FenEx just stares straight down the barrel in silence, confident that it could dodge the bullet if things came down to that.

"who is this you know we can't have civilians on base" Artemis clacks his beak slightly

"they helped me get back after falling off of the motorcycle thought they might like to meet the team...plus their not a civilian their a mercenary"

"FenEx, nice to meet you!" It extends its hand to Artemis for a shake.

Artemis hesitantly shakes it's hand

"Not big on outsiders? I can respect that."

"Artemis isn't big on most people in general" Vice explains "but TFI is pretty secretive so usually people outside the team aren't allowed on base"

"Tracks. Lots of people like that in the Guild. Just how it goes in the business."

Vice nods slightly "makes sense what we do isn't fully legal"

FenEx shrugs.

"Depends where. This Earth's mostly pretty restrictive for merc work, other places not so much."

"never been to another earth before"

"Few have. Maybe someday, though. Who knows?"
