My Heart - Alex Standall x Reader
Request- “she’s clays sister and she has an alternate fashion and music taste and Hannah basically gets them together”
“GET UP Y/N JENSEN!!” Clay was banging on your door and shouting at you. “WE’RE GOING TO BE LATE- AGAIN!” You were surprised the door was still intact. You groaned.
“…gimme five more minutes…please…” you mumbled into your pillow, dreary and pleading. Getting up really wasn’t on the agenda.
“If you’re not ready in 20 minutes, Y/N, I’m leaving without you.” It was an empty threat, you knew he wouldn’t, but it still pushed you to finally get out of bed.
You and your brother walked to school together, and met his almost-girlfriend-but-not-really Hannah along the way. You and Hannah had been acquaintances before, but ever since her and Clay got closer, so did she and you. Currently, she was attempting to set you up with her friend Alex Standall, a guy you’d had a crush on for a while. Alex and you were similar. You both had quite quirky looks, and had similar tastes in music. You didn’t mind walking to school with Hannah and Clay because they always included you rather than letting you third wheel.
—-
At lunch, Hannah came to sit next to you.
“Hey, Hannah. What’s up?”
“Nothing much, except the fact I asked Alex to sit with me at lunch.” She smirked.
“Oh- it’s okay if you wanna go sit with him, I don’t mind!” You smiled, trying not to look too hurt.
“No, silly! He’s sitting with me. On this table. With you.” She explained. The lightbulb turned on in your head.
“Oh god! Do I look okay? Have I got food in my teeth?” You frantically smoothed your hair down and pushed up your glasses. She chuckled.
“You look gorgeous.” She reassured you, right as Alex Standall approached the table, and sat down. He eyed you up and down dubiously.
“Hey Hannah, Y/N.”
“Hey.” You smiled sheepishly. Alex knew your name???
You ate lunch with Hannah and Alex, and got more comfortable and the time passed. You joked and laughed and couldn’t stop yourself from looking at Alex at least every ten seconds. What was weird was, most of the time he was looking back.
As you left the lunch hall, someone shouted for you.
“Y/N! Hold up.” It was Alex. It was Alex???
“Oh, hey Alex.” You smiled.
“You got a free period?” He asked.
“Yeah, actually. I was planning on heading to the library.”
“Well, if you don’t mind changing your plans, how about heading out with me?” You’d stopped by the lockers so as not to cause disruption in the hallway.
“‘Out’ where?” You were doubtful.
“Out of school.” He grinned mischeviously. You bit your lip.
Clay will kill me, you thought.
“Yeah, why not.”
—–
You two were sat on the top of a hill somewhere, you weren’t entirely sure how you’d ended up there, but there you were. Alex’s speaker was playing music, and the sun was lowering in the sky.
“So, Hannah’s told me a lot about you.” He began, “but you’re a lot better than she described.” You blushed. Alex was so sweet.
“What kind of things has she said?”
“All good things.”
“I’d hope so.” You joked.
“So she hasn’t said anything about me?” He asked.
“She didn’t really need to…” you looked away, feeling awkward. He was perplexed.
“Well, I mean, because, well, I already kinda knew a lot.” You avoided eye contact. He decided not to press you, sensing how uncomfortable you were. He moved closer and faced you.
Just then, your phone chimed.
Message from Clay: Where the hell are you???
Message to Clay: I’ll tell you later.
Message from Clay: As long as you’re safe x
Message to Clay: Of course Mr Protective.
You locked your phone and turned back to Alex.
“Sorry, it was just Clay.”
“Your brother? I love that guy.”
“Me too. Sometimes.” You made eye contact again, unable to break once you’d got a taste of their liquid blue.
“Y/N, you’re really awesome. I wish we’d hung out sooner.”
“Really?” You stared into his eyes.
My Heart - Paramore began to play. It was one of your favourites.
“Yeah, you’re different like, quirky, and really cool. But I said that already.” He laughed at himself. His laugh sent tingles down your spine. You weren’t quite sure how to respond.
“Can I ask you something?” He looked nervous.
“Go ahead.” You were apprehensive, it could be anything.
“Can I… Kiss you?” This was not what you’d been expecting. You were completely taken aback.
“Really??” Was your initial response, before you saw the sincerity in his eyes. “I mean, yes! Yes!” You laughed as you both leaned in ignited the kiss. It was a simple peck. You smiled. He cupped your face in his hands and went back for more. It was passionate and desperate, as though both of you were taking all you could. The song made everything all the better. You lay down on the grass, bringing him with you. After a while, he broke off.
“I know I only just met you properly, but it’s feels like I’ve known you forever.” He stroked your cheek.
“I think we can thank Hannah for that.” You made a mental note to thank her every day for the next year, before returning to kissing the hell out of Alex freaking Standall.

Take note: (Y/F/F) is Your Favourite Flavour
It was Valentine’s Day and you were so nervous because it would be your first date ever since. You joined the Oh My Dollar Valentine and it got you a date with the infamous platinum blonde haired boy, Alex Standall. He was the only one who had his hair in that way, so it was impossible not to know him.
You never liked participating at any school activities, but they came up with the idea of Oh My Dollar Valentine and you thought of giving it a shot.
The event consisted of filling up a form, where you chose your interests and the things you looked for someone, and, with just a dollar, you could have the name and the number of the people that had the same interests as you did. The earnings of the event would go to the cheerleaders’ camp and why should you not help them?
You remembered how you got your call and you didn’t even expect it. It was during your lunch break and you were getting some books for the next class in your locker.
“Uhm, hello Alex?” You hesitated to answer his phone call, because you weren’t close to him, not even a little bit. You had him in few of your classes, but you never bothered to talk to him.
“Hey, (Y/N). How are you?” He asked you and you could hear the nervousness in his voice.
“I am good. How about you?” You weren’t sure how to answer him and, in fact, you were feeling uncomfortable to talk to him.
“I’m… good.” He paused for a little bit and you could say that he didn’t know how to talk to you either.
“Are you sure?” You assured him with a corrugated forehead while you were searching for some books.
“Yes.” He shortly answered and it was obvious that he didn’t want to talk about it. “Look, you were in my list for the Dollar Valentine and…” He cut what he was about to say and he thought that it was understandable that he was asking you out for a date on Valentine’s.
“And?” You raised your eyebrow as you asked him. He wasn’t really an extrovert person and you could hear that he was having some kind of trouble on talking to you.
“And I am asking if you… you could g-go o-out on a da-date with me next week, on Valentine’s Day?” He stuttered as he proposed you his thoughts. You found it cute that he was feeling flustered to ask you out, but you wondered why he asked you.
He was in a relationship with Jessica Davis, one of the cheerleaders in Liberty High, and it didn’t end pretty well between the two of them. Maybe Alex was trying to move on, but you thought why would he choose you, when there were other people to ask out?
“(Y/N)?” He assured that you were still there, because you didn’t answer his question. You were shocked, of course.
“Alex, I’m still here.” You shook your head as you got your book and closed your locker.
“So? What’s the answer?” He asked as you saw him along the hallway, holding his phone and looking at you.
He was far enough to see you properly, but you flashed him a wide smile. “Of course, Alex. I would love to.”
You heard him unleashing a sigh of relief and you laughed because of his actions. “Dinner at Rosie’s diner and maybe I can walk you back home?”
“Sure, that’s fine. What time?” You asked as you started to walk towards your classroom, the space between the two of you was diminished as you took some little steps forward.
“Eight o'clock would be perfect.” He answered, seeing him smile confidently now. He somehow relaxed, since he got his comfortable pace during your conversation.
“See you at eight, then.” You winked at him as you ended the phone call and walked passed him.
“See you, pretty.” You heard him giggle and you just shook your head. Heading in your History class.
You entered the diner and you quickly saw Alex, waiting for you while fidgeting with a long stemmed red rose in his hands.
“Alex!” You called his attention and he quickly shot his glance at you. He quickly stood up as he waited for you to reach the booth.
“Hey, (Y/N).” You both smiled and you stopped yourselves from hugging each other because there was still an awkward atmosphere between the two of you.
“Uhm, for you.” He handed you the rose and you avoided some thorns of it.
“Thank you, Alex.” You smiled at him and you both took your seats.
“Uhm…” Alex started to kill the silence between the two of you. The slow love song in the background and some murmurs could be heard inside the diner and it made you sick.
“Yes?” Your gaze brighten, couldn’t wait to know what he had to say.
“Oh,” He bit his lip as he thought that he might say some wrong things and he was afraid to offend you. “I mean…” He tried to find the right words, but they didn’t seem to flash in his mind. “Never mind.”
“Oh, okay.” You shortly answered as you looked at his eyes. He felt uncomfortable, because he avoided the eye contact.
You tapped your fingers on the table, since you were both silent and you didn’t know how to start the conversation again.
“Alex, you play the guitar, right?” You suddenly blurted out to have a little bit of dialogues with him.
“Yup, I do.” He smiled once again, thankful that you thought of some topics to talk about. “Why?”
“Nothing, I am not seeing you play in the jazz band anymore.” You pointed out as you let him know that you noticed the small things.
“I quitted, since I really can’t focus on it in these days.” He explained and you listened as you fidgeted with the flower that he gave you.
“Jessica?” You whispered and he nodded quietly. You hinted that he didn’t want to talk about it. Why would he? You were not even close. “Sorry.”
“It’s not because I don’t want to talk about it.” He said as if he read your mind and then he rested his arms on the table. “It’s because I respect you. You are my date for tonight and not Jessica.”
“Thank you.” You happily answered and he smiled at you. You thought that he was a sweet and an altruist person.
You stared at each other and you took the chance to admire his features. You noticed his dilated deep blue eyes and his septum ring, his lips were reddish and the pale skin enhanced them. Of course, you adored his platinum hair even more, you thought that it was cool and unique.
“(Y/N), what do you want to eat?” Alex asked you and you shook your head to forget about your thoughts. You noticed that the waiter was waiting for you and you bit your lip as you were so embarrassed.
“I’m having a cheeseburger with fries on the side.” You said as you went through the usual food you order in that diner.
“Drinks?” The waiter asked and you just smiled as Alex ordered a (Y/F/F)-flavoured milkshake.
“Same for me.” You answered and the waiter smiled before going back to the counter, probably giving the orders to the chef.
“Why are you smiling like that?” Alex asked as with a smirk as he noticed that you were smiling widely.
“Nothing.” You laughed as you felt a little bit comfortable with him. “It’s because the (Y/F/F)-flavoured milkshake.”
“What about it?” He chuckled a little bit. “It’s my favourite flavour.” He smiled as he gave another information about him.
“It’s my favourite too!” You exclaimed and you both laughed, feeling more confident now.
Few moments later, your food arrived and you both started to eat while you talk of some stuffs.
“Cheers to my milkshake buddy?” Alex raised the glass of his cold milkshake and laughed.
“Cheers!” You exclaimed as you both clinked your glasses while looking into each other’s eyes. You then sipped a little bit from it and you let out a loud laugh.
You both let yourself in and the awkwardness between the two of you faded away as you shared some of your stories.
“Sir, may I have the bill please?” Alex shouted as you finished your meal and you decided to go away.
“Here you go, sir.” The waiter gave Alex the bill and you were about to give Alex some dollars for it, but he refused to get it.
“Nope.” He shook his head. “I pay for this.”
“But…” You insisted but Alex is hard headed too, just like you.
“No buts and ifs.” He winked at you as he got some bills from his billfold wallet.
“Thank you.” You shyly said to him and he just smiled at you. You thought that he was really a gentleman and he knew how to treat a girl right.
“Here it is.” Alex said to the waiter as he paid the bill, giving him some extra bills for the tip. “Keep the change.”
“Thank you.” The waiter gratefully said as he took the empty plates away. “Have a nice night ahead.”
You looked at each other and you both had a nervous laughter as you blushed for what the waiter has said. Of course, what did he mean by that?
“Thanks.” Alex said with an embarrassed smile and you both got up from your table, giggling.
Alex decided to walk you home and to talk about more stuffs.
“You are really fun to be with, why didn’t I ever notice you before?” Alex asked and you just laughed at his question. You walked together slowly as you enjoyed the moment.
“Well, I don’t really know.” You raised your shoulders. “Probably because you hang out with the popular kids.”
“Right, but I would choose you if I ever have to.” He winked at you, trying to flirt and you knew that your face became red that moment.
“Shut up!” You playfully punched his arm. “Besides, I have a crush on your best friend Zach.” You jokingly said and he looked at you, shocked and offended.
“You are horrible!” He pouted and you just let out a loud laugh, not minding if the street was quiet and calm. “I dated you tonight and you are just admitting that you liked Zach?”
“Well, you still love Jessica.” You pointed it out. “Fair enough.”
“I am trying to move on, if you didn’t notice it.” He rolled his eyes, showing a pinch of his jealousy.
“Oh my God, Alex! You are so touchy.” You complained and you smiled at him. “I was just kidding.”
“Really?” He wanted to be sure before he pushed this moving on thing and dating you. Well, he didn’t want to use you because he really thought that you were fun to be with and your life was interesting.
“Really, Standall.” You seriously said, kind of emphasizing it to make it clear. “Isn’t it funny?”
“What?” Alex admired you as you were few steps ahead of him. He just studied your features, like what you did to him before.
“I mean, everything was so awkward before and now? It seems like we’ve known each other for years.” You shook your head while you let out some soft giggles, still looking at the road.
“We have that connection, maybe?” He pointed out and you just raised your shoulders.
“Yup, the milkshakes!” You happily exclaimed.
“True!” He agreed as you both laughed loudly, finding it funny that those milkshakes helped you to be confident to each other.
Once you arrived home, you both stopped in front of the front door.
“Alex, thank you so much for the night.” You gratefully blurted out and he just shook his head with a smile.
“Thank you, instead.” He carefully pulled you into a hug and you were shocked because you didn’t expect it. You felt the heat of his body and you hugged him back, burying your face in the crook of his neck. You had the possibility to smell his perfume and you couldn’t deny that he smelt really good. “You made me happy.”
“Guess we should thank that Dollar Valentine too.” You suggested, still hugging him.
“Precisely, thank George Washington, who had his face in that bill.” He joked as you heard his heart beating fast.
“Idiot.” You laughed and he joined you, feeling his muscles and his vocal chords vibrated.
“Have a good night, okay?” He reminded you as he left a soft kiss on your forehead, another thing that you didn’t expect to get from him.
“Same to you, Alex.” You smiled at him and you broke the hug. You still had Alex’s smell and you honestly didn’t want to let him go.
“I’ll see you tomorrow at school?” He sweetly asked as if he was longing for your presence. He really enjoyed your company and, little did you both know, he was already forgetting Jessica.
“You will.” You winked at him as you started to walk towards the door. “Take care, okay?”
“I will, (Y/N).” He assured you and you smiled widely once again.
“Good night!” You both said in unison and you stayed in front of the door to watch him walk away. You only went inside when his silhouette wasn’t visible anymore.
You vivaciously entered your house and you leant on the door, smiling while you dealt with the loud beats of your heart.
Your first date went very well, being so lucky that you were on Alex’s list and he called you, instead of the other four people on it.
You might sound selfish and egoist, but you couldn’t deny that Alex made you happy and you were very pleased that you accepted his proposal, nevertheless the uncomfortable stares and the awkwardness between the two of you.

“Babe, are you okay?” It was your school’s Winter Formal and your boyfriend Alex noticed that you were in a deep thought as you silently fidgeted with your fingers. “Babe?”
“Uh,” You suddenly shook your head as the loud music and Alex’s voice sank in your mind. The room was dark and it was lighted by some strobe lights as the music was fast and noisy. You wandered your eyes around and you saw the people dancing messily and wildly. “I am fine.”
“You don’t seem fine.” He sat beside you as he handed you a plastic cup filled with a red coloured punch.
“I am.” You shortly answered as you felt another knot in your stomach. You’ve been observing the beautiful, skinny and perfect girls from your school and you quickly felt guilty and insecure. You took a sip from your cup as you hid your perplexity from Alex.
“Can we talk?” You looked at Alex and he seemed serious. He wouldn’t leave the question open until he assured himself that you were fine.
“About what?” You shrugged your shoulders as if you didn’t know why he wanted to talk to you. He might have hinted what you were into, because this wasn’t the first time that it would happen, so he insisted on the topic.
“About everything.” He was bothered for your actions and, even though you haven’t agreed yet, he already stood up from the bleachers and he waited for your hand as he put his out.
“Lex, it’s not necessary.” You assured him, but still put your plastic cup beside you and you grabbed his hand before standing up.
“I think that it is.” He emotionlessly answered and you bit your lip as he intertwined his hands with yours, dragging you out of the school gym, where the dance was being held. “So? What’s the matter, love?”
“Nothing matters.” You let his hand go as you sighed loudly and heavily. “Nothing matters, neither do I.”
“You absolutely matter, (Y/N).” Alex’s shoulder fell down as he knew what was happening to you that night. “Tell me what’s in your mind?”
“I think you know what’s in this stupid mind.” You avoided Alex’s gaze, because you felt uncomfortable, flustered. He already talked to you about this topic and he would never be tired of repeating it.
“Maybe yes, maybe not.” Alex answered and he perfectly knew how nervous and pressured you were at that moment. You have a certain intimacy with Alex, but you were always shy to talk about these things with him.
“Fine, Alex! I am telling you what’s running on my mind, right now.” You raised your voice as you gathered your courage to let everything out. “I am jealous of these pretty girls around me. I mean, have you ever seen them? They’re perfect and I am a potato. They have perfect skin, flat stomachs and their dresses fit very well in them. I am just so full of flaws and I hate it, I hate myself because of it.” You huffed as you finished ranting about it. Alex listened to you, even though he already knew what you would’ve said.
“Is that what perfect is for you?” He raised an eyebrow as he asked you with a smirk. “Because I am seeing the perfection in front of me.”
“Perfection!” You shot him a death glare as you sarcastically repeated what he has said. Alex was disappointed of himself, because he couldn’t make you feel better and he couldn’t give you more confidence for yourself. He couldn’t convince you that you should love your so-called- flaws and that stressed him, because all he wanted was for you to love yourself. “I sometimes wonder why you even chose me.”
“I think you are, (Y/N).” He seriously said as he grabbed your right hand and caressed the back of it with his thumb. “You know that I will always love you and I will always take you as you are, right? I will always choose you, no matter what.”
“I know, Alex.” You fiddled with your lovely long dress, playing with the smooth fabric of it.
“Look at me, love.” Alex sweetly cupped your cheeks and you looked at him, showing him your disheartened gaze. “You know that all these things, that you call flaws, are the reason why I loved you and why I am loving you, right?”
“You’ve already told me that, but I don’t believe you.” You contradicted him as he just smiled and shook his head.
“These imperfections that you call are the ones that make you perfect, love.” He caressed your cheek. You still had your own opinion and he couldn’t wreck the wall between the two of you.
“I don’t think so.” You crossed your arms, being a hard headed.
“Shush you.” He walked closer to you and kissed your nose. “You don’t have to be insecure because I love you so much and I think that you are flawless. You should love yourself and you shouldn’t shame yourself because of them. You are flawless and please remember that, okay?”
“Do you really think that?” Your shoulders relaxed after those sweet words that slipped out Alex’s mouth. You finally let your walls down as you let him assure you. You absorbed his words and you felt loved in some ways.
“Of course, Babe.” He slowly nodded with a smile and he knew that you gained some confidence for yourself again. “So, please, don’t ever compare yourself to others because you are perfect and always will be. Okay?”
“I’m sorry.” You sighed for the hundredth time and Alex just smiled even wider, letting go of your face, that he was still cupping.
“You don’t have to because it’s clearly not your fault.” He sincerely answered. “I just want for you to think that you are unblemished and to teach you how to love yourself, because I do.”
“Thank you, babe. You always know how to cheer me up.” You blushed as you thanked him, so for him not to notice it, you suddenly wrapped your arms around his neck and you hugged him.
“I am just stating the truth, baby.” He wrapped his arms around your waist as he exchanged the hug you’ve been giving to him. “I shouldn’t be thanked, when all I did was being honest.”
“Aw, Babe.” You bit your lower lip while smiling and you let Alex go.
“I love you.” He looked at you straight into your eyes and you perfectly knew how sincere he was during that exact moment.
“I love you too.” You honestly replied and his lips formed a big smile before closing the gap between the two of you.
You shared a passionate kiss, full of love as Alex demonstrated that he really cared for you, but it was broken by your best friend, Jessica.
“Cuties, you’re missing a great party in there.” She winked at you as she grabbed your hand and Alex followed the two of you, still wanting to kiss your soft lips.
“Jess, stop stealing my girlfriend because she’s mine.” Alex playfully said, but he was partly serious about it.
“Damn, Standall!” Jessica complained as you entered the gym once again. Tony was playing a slow love song and Jessica surrendered as she wanted for you to have a moment together. “Here’s your beautiful girlfriend, but I will steal her if you don’t take care of her.”
“Shut up, Jess. You should give up now, because I will never let her go and I will always take care of her.” You blushed as you felt your boyfriend hugging you from behind.
“Whatever, Alex.” Jessica rolled her eyes and she let go of your hand, heading to Justin. “Enjoy guys.”
“We will.” You and Alex said in unison as you headed in the middle of the gym to dance.
“May I have this dance, beautiful?” Alex asked you as he put his hand out again.
“Of course,” you grabbed his hand and he pulled you closer to him, wrapping his arms around your waist and you wrapped your arms around his neck. “handsome.”
You both laughed as you slowly danced together, swaying together with the rhythm of the music.
You thanked Alex, because you really felt better with his kind and honest words. You knew that he wouldn’t lie to you, because you knew Alex very well.
He helped you to start loving your so-called-flaws, because he was right! Your flaws are those little things that made you perfect, unique and beautiful. You should start appreciating them, because you wouldn’t be you without them.
He was the best that you’ve ever had and you couldn’t thank him enough for being the perfect and loving boyfriend that he was.
(Alex Standall x Reader): Mercy (pt. 1)
Summary: After you heard the tapes you broke up with Alex because you thought that he was still in love with Jessica. But when you find out that he tried to commit suicide you take a look back at your relationship
A/N: This fic was sort of inspired by Hoodie by Hey Violet but it went way deeper than I thought it would ooPS
(pt 1) (pt 2) (pt 3) (pt 4) (pt 5) (pt 6) (pt 7) (pt 8) (pt 9) (pt 10) (pt 11) (pt 12) (pt 13)
You’d thought that Alex loved you, he’d told you so so many times while you were together, but he had lied. that was clearly just something else about Alex that you learned when you heard the tapes.
Hannah Baker’s suicide was hard for you, especially because you felt like you were somewhat responsible, and when you got the tapes you found out that you were. You were one of the reasons Hannah killed herself.
But you also found out a lot about your boyfriend Alex that you hadn’t known before. You’d known about the list, of course, but you hadn’t realized that Alex and Jessica had been best friends with Hannah, or even that the two of the dated. And going by the tapes Alex had really loved Jess.
And based on things that Hannah said in the tapes, and what everyone else was saying about the way that things went down, it was clear to you that he was still in love with her.
You were planning on talking it through with him, but when he ditched you to go talk to Jess about the tapes it was clear that your hunch was correct.
You’d walked into the gym a bit behind Zach and Justin and you watched from the door as Justin got all jealous, you were feeling similarly, but would never have the guts to make a scene like that so you just watched.
“About how much she misses me. About how much better of a boyfriend I am than you. She wishes she’d never broken up with me.”
Those had been the words that had shattered your heart.
So you turned around and ran out of the gym, out of the school, and out of Alex’s life. You’d left him a rambly voicemail, with all sorts of excuses and fake reasons for your ending things, blocked his number, and locked yourself in your room for several days.
When you couldn’t fake being sick anymore and you had to go back to school you made sure to avoid Alex at all costs. You got to school as late a possible, left as soon as class was over, and spent any time you weren’t in class hiding in the bathroom or the depths of the library.
That didn’t mean that you didn’t see Alex. You did. But it was from afar so that you didn’t have to interact with him. He was usually alone, but if he wasn’t, he was with Jessica or the rest of the people who’d heard the tapes. You knew they were planning something, or trying to, to make sure that they didn’t get pulled into the lawsuit or any other drama around Hannah’s suicide.
You’d thought about going to the meetings, but you honestly didn’t care what happened to you. You deserve repercussions for what you did to Hannah, and you certainly weren’t going to sit in the same room as Alex.
So Zach would keep you updated on everyone else. He said it was just so that you didn’t have any surprises if, or when, something went down. But you also had a feeling he wanted to get you to talk to Alex, but you’d made it clear that if he talked about Alex you wouldn’t talk to him again.
Which is why when he sent you a text in the middle of the night that said please call me it’s about alex you had almost blocked him, but the randomness of the message and the fact that you weren’t awake meant that you picked up your phone, sat up in bed, and called him.
“(Y/N),” Zach said as he picked up the phone, his voice cracking slightly, which confused you, and made you extremely nervous as you mind went to the worst case scenario.
“What happened?” You asked uncertainly, no longer sure that you knew what was going on.
“It’s Alex, he um… he shot himself.”
Cold (Alex Imagine)
Hey guys requests are open! I hope you like this imagine!
Let me know if you want to be tagged in what I write!
Your Pov
You sat with Alex on the school bleachers. It was the last football game of the season and the whole school was required to attend.
Neither of you wanted to go but since it was a requirement you both decided to suffer together. Alex decided that since you had to come you could at least sit away from everyone else or at least as far away as possible.

“What is happening, Clay?” You alarmedly questioned to your friend as you dealt with the shortness of breath. Someone called you to announce that your best friend, Alex, was in trouble with someone in the parking lot, so you tried to run from the other side of the school department to the parking lot as fast as you could.
“I really don’t know, I am trying to see what’s happening.” He mindlessly responded as he was tiptoeing with his dark coloured converse. You waited for him to give you more information, but once he didn’t get any positive results on what he was doing, you started to push people away, creating a small space where you could walk in.
You heard some foul words because of your nonchalant actions, but you just ignored them as you arrived at the first row of the crowd. Your heart immediately heart sank, a little knot forming in your stomach, and your mouth slightly hung open at the scene.
Alex was spitting blood out of his mouth whilst he got some heavy punches from the one and only Montgomery De La Cruz, who was sitting on your best friends abdomen while he let his anger out.
“Fuck off, De La Cruz!” You courageously pushed the bully off Alex’s body, hoping he would stop hurting your best friend as though he was a sort of punching bag. “Fucking, stop!”
“Fine, I’ll stop!” He raised his hands in defense, but he kicked Alex on his stomach one more time before picking his backpack up, it was surely thrown on the ground when they started the fight.
“Damn it! Go fuck yourself!” You shouted as you wanted to bang his head on a wall thousand times.
“Montgomery, you fucking asshole.” You heard Alex swearing under his breath and whining while he was holding his stomach.
“Alex.” You quickly caressed his arm as you let him know that you were by his side. You swore that you didn’t like seeing your best friend like this. Montgomery pushed some people so he could get out of that crowd around you.
“(Y/N).” He weakly called for you as he coughed harshly, caused by the savage and terrible kicks of Montgomery. You were worried as you saw Alex spitting thick, dense and scarlet blood one more time.
“Damn, Alex.” You bit your lower lip as you felt a little bit guilty for arriving later to save him. You gave him your handkerchief so he could wipe his mouth. “Guys, go back to your classes! The show is obviously done, this was the first and last episode of let’s just fucking watch Alex to get hurt and do nothing, so stop being nosey and mind your own fucking business!” You sarcastically shouted as you hated them for not stopping the asshole before.
“It’s okay, (Y/N).” He shook it off as if nothing has happened.
“You shush!” You rolled your eyes as you picked his backpack up and hung it on your free shoulder. “C'mon.” You grabbed his hand as helped him to get up from the ground. Alex could barely stand up straight and you could say that he was suffering inside.
“Let me help you with that, (Y/N).” Zach helped Alex to maintain his balance as he saw that you were struggling to handle your best friend and you started to walk towards the school’s parking lot.
“Lex, keys?” You asked him when you stopped in front of his car.
“Here.” He shakily handed you the keys and you shook your head for the damage that Montgomery has done to your best friend. You would seriously slap that jerk.
“Thanks.” You weakly smiled at him and opened his car. Zach guided Alex to enter the passenger’s seat.
“Can you do this alone?” Zach worriedly asked after he closed the car’s door.
“Yup, thank you.” You warmly smiled at him and he just smiled back at you.
“Text me, okay?” You nodded to assure him and you went to the driver’s seat. “Take care.”
“We will.” You and Alex smiled at him and you started to drive carefully, not wanting to hurt Alex even more. “Are you okay?” You looked at the rear-view mirror to assure that no one was following you. “Dumb question, I know.”
“My stomach still aches.” You then looked at him and you could see in his eyes that he was really trying so hard to mend the pain away.
“Damn it, Standall.” You sighed as you saw his nose soaked in dried blood, condensed and fractured. The almost brown coloured blood has mizzled down his face and shirt, like the rain water in a window pane.
“What?” He raised an eyebrow and it made you worried even more, because his left cheek was purple and he had a big black and blue circle around his left eye.
“I hate seeing you like that, Jesus!” You huffed once again and brought your focus back to the road.
Once you arrived at his house, you parked his car on its place and you helped him to walk and to maintain his balance. The house was empty, obviously, his parents had the day shift at work.
“Stay there.” You closed the door behind you and you ran up and down the stairs to get the things that you needed to cure Alex’s wounds.
“What are you searching for?” Alex asked as he noticed that you kept on searching for something on the same place.
“Liniments?” You raised your eyebrow and he indicated you the bathroom door right next to the living room. “Thanks.”
“Not a problem.” He answered and you suddenly heard him complaining, murmuring some things that you didn’t understand.
“What happened?” You put the liniments on the table, together with the other stuffs that you needed to cure Alex.
“I can’t even smile because of this thing.” He complaint as he watched you preparing your first aid paraphernalia.
“Yup, you got a bad busted lip over there.” You shook your head.
“Yeah, I can feel it.” He pouted as he tried to ease the pain.
“What did you do to be Montgomery’s punching bag?” You curiously asked as you squeezed a wet towel to take the dehydrated blood stains off his face and neck. “This might hurt a little.”
“Be careful.” He grabbed your arm as he guided your hand. You dabbed the now-stained towel softly and slowly as you saw him fussing for the pain.
“Sorry.” You bit your lip as you were so concentrated on cleaning Alex’s face. You didn’t notice that he was just looking at you to admire your beautiful face.
“So? What’s the reason?” You stopped to look at him and he suddenly panicked and avoided your eye contact.
“He was fantasizing about you.” You suddenly stopped to look at him and gave him your judging face. “What? He was saying that he’d like to fuck you.” He defended himself, believing that he did a right thing for you.
“And you got those bruises and wounds just for a thing like that?” You put the towel back to the basin and you faced him.
“Damn it, what’s wrong with that?” He kind of raised his voice and you knew that you couldn’t change his mind.
“Alex, you almost died. I prefer that he imagines dirty stuffs about me rather than I lose you!” You got the towel once again and you squeezed it properly before wiping his neck. His face was already clean and you could recognize him now.
“(Y/N), I was the one who got hurt so shut the fuck up! I can’t stand to see others doing that to you.” He pointed out as he moved his neck so you could clean every inch of it. He was angry, but you knew that he couldn’t hurt you. “That’s also called respect for you, for the girls, for every woman in this world.”
“And I can’t stand to see my best friend in that way either!” You threw the towel in the basin and, luckily, the water didn’t go all over the glass centre table. You shot him a death glare as he just rolled his eyes. “And respect? You expect Montgomery to have even a pinch of respect? No way!”
“That doesn’t matter, I am the boy here and I should defend you.” You got a cotton disk and you put a smidgen of disinfectant to clean his still open bruises. “And that’s exactly my point! He should respect you.”
“You’re not my knight in shining armour, so stop defending me. Defend yourself, instead.” You lightly tapped the cotton disk on his bruises and he kept on whining as it stung his face.
“Then fuck you!” Alex corrugated his forehead as he lost his shit once again. He was staying at his thought and you couldn’t change his mind.
“No, fuck you!” You pressed the cotton disk on one of his bruises and he pushed your hand away harshly because you hurt him.
“What the fuck!?” He breathed in deeply as if he was asking for more patience to tolerate your behaviour. “Damn, I would do this by myself if you’re just being an asshole!”
“You know that you don’t have to do that for me, Standall!” You got the cotton disk once again and you blew at his bruise to ease the pain. You calmed yourself down as you saw him miffed.
“I don’t care.” He sassily snapped at you. “I would even catch a bullet for you, if I need to.” You dabbed the cotton once again and you bit your lip as you realized that you crossed the line. He defended you and you should thank him for that.
“I’m sorry.” You murmured and Alex just smiled.
“You realized that I had the point here?” He smirked at you and you threatened him to press the cotton disk once again. “But I am right.”
“Damn, Standall!” You rolled your eyes. “You are right, you got the point, but stay still!”
“Thank you.” He had a teasing tone and you hated him for that moment.
You realized that Alex was the sweetest person that you’ve ever known, even though you didn’t want to see him in that way. Yes, he could defend you and everything, but if it cost him his life, he better not defended you because your best friend’s life was more important to you than what people had to say about you.
“Thank you.” You smiled at him and he just shook his head with a wide smile plastered on his face. “Seriously, though. You don’t have to.”
“But I want to and that’s final.” He crossed his arms and you unleashed a long deep sigh, because you knew that he would do everything just to win in that discussion you were having.
Alex was sweet and nice to do that to you, but you didn’t want for him to be in a crazy mess. You didn’t want to see him hurt or dying, just because he needed to defend you.
You remained silent as you put the liniments on his bruises. He seriously looked at you as he watched your hands, carefully touching his damaged skin.
“Take your shirt off, I need to check if you have broken bones there!” You wiped your hands using the towel and you saw Alex with a smirk on his face.
“Or maybe you want to take advantage of me.” He naughtily said and you just laughed for his silly attitude.
“Dork!” You rolled your eyes while you were laughing. People might think that you two are crazy, because you would fight the moment before and then laugh like there was no tomorrow after, but that was what you liked in your relationship with Alex. You couldn’t fight over things for a long time, so you never had any issue. “C'mon, take that stained shirt off.”
“I ask fifty bucks per clothing from my clients for this, but you are too special for me so it’s free.” He winked at you as he slowly took his shirt off, making it a little bit sexy and lascivious. “I must love you so much for doing a strip tease for free eh!”
“Lex, you’re the best.” You laughed loudly as you playfully slapped his arm. “You’re the best that I never had, promise.”
“I know and I am happy that I can make you laugh just like that.” He winked at you as he put the shirt on the table in front of you. You controlled if he had some broken bones, touching different parts of his naked chest with a delicate touch, but luckily, he didn’t.
“Here, put these on!” You tossed him a clean shirt and his sweatpants. “I’m not peeking.” You winked at him as you put the first aid kit back to its place, also cleaning the towel that you used to clean Alex’s face.
“Thank you for curing me.” Alex sweetly said as he followed you to the bathroom and hugged you from the back. This time he could walk, not properly but he could. “Sorry, because I said tough things.”
“No, I’m sorry.” You put his dirty and stained clothes in the washing machine. It was Alex’s home, but it felt like it was your home too. You spent most of your time in his home than your own home because of Alex. “I should be grateful to have someone who hasn’t got any problems on defending me.”
“I will always defend you, (Y/N).” You looked at the mirror as you washed your hands. You saw Alex smiling and you had to admit that he was still perfect even with those bruises. “What?”
“Nothing.” You smiled at him and splashed him a drop of water. “You make me happy, Alex.” You dried your hands with a dry and clean hand towel.
“And you make me happy, (Y/N).” He made you turn around and he grabbed your hand. You both went back to the living room and you sat in front of the turned off television.
“So, what would you like to do now?” You curiously asked as you looked at Alex’s blue orbs. You seriously found him handsome, even with purple coloured cheeks. You loved his tired big eyes and you glanced at him as he glanced back at you. Your eyes were telling something to each other, but you didn’t want to admit it.
“This.” He smiled at you as he slowly leant in to close the gap between the two of you.
You were shocked because you never expected that Alex would kiss you out of nowhere. You didn’t respond at first, but then you let yourself go and you shared a passionate kiss with Alex, tasting a little bit of liniment from the bruised part of his lip, but you didn’t mind it. He caressed your cheek as you played with his platinum blonde hair.
“Fuck!” He suddenly broke the kiss and a worried expression took over your face. “That kind of hurt.”
“I can imagine.” You giggled softly and Alex just smiled, secretly loving your giggles more and more. You didn’t care if it was strange that he kissed you, you loved it and you honestly craved for more.
“Maybe kissing suits better when this shitty stuff gets better.” He winked at you and you shook your head with a wide smile on your face. “How about cuddles?”
“Cuddles, specifically your cuddles, are perfect too.” You nodded your head and he hugged you tightly as you let yourself fall on the soft couch, having Alex on top of you.
“Haven’t you ever noticed that I loved you from the very beginning of our friendship?” Alex whispered, your faces were few inches apart.
“Never thought of that.” You shook your head while having a thinking expression on your face. “Is that why you always defend me?”
“Well, I think that it’s the time to confess you everything, since I even kissed you just few moments ago.” He raised his shoulders as he rolled beside you. “(Y/N), I love you so much.” You saw that Alex blushed a little bit and you couldn’t help but smile. “I don’t know how it happened, but I wake up every day, being more jealous and wanting to protect you from the people around us. I love your company and I don’t regret that I approached you during that first basketball game during the sophomore year, I am so thankful for the relationship that we have.” He honestly declared as he drew circles on your arms with his left hand. You could see him blushing even more as the sunlight fell slanting through the window pane and it made you smile wider.
“Oh, you were just jealous earlier, that’s why you lost your shit!” You pointed out and Alex laughed loudly. You were flustered because you didn’t know why he was laughing.
“Good morning, Captain Obvious!” He smirked at you and you giggled as you messed his hair up.
“You’re such an idiot, but I love you too Alex.” You sincerely confessed and you blushed a little bit as you met Alex’s happy gaze. You played with his septum ring as you giggled even more and he just shook his head. “I am thankful to have someone like you.”
You both leant in for another kiss, but, this time, it was just a simple one because you didn’t want to hurt him once again.
You were enthusiastically happy and thankful at that moment, because you were sharing a great relationship with your most beloved person in your life.
BROTHERS.
