Reinhardt – “Wouldn't dream of it, captain.”

Reinhardt - “*sigh* If I am called, and I do not answer... what is left, Ana?”

Ana - “You are left, Reinhardt. And that is nothing to scoff at.”

I truly believe in my sincerity that Hanzo Shimada has nightmares about the day he ‘killed’ his brother.

Another night had Hanzo tossing and turning on his futon. Yes, he was a light sleeper (as he had said in the cinematic about assassins coming for him) but when sleep finally catches up to him, his mind is plagued with cruel visions of a horrible times.

He could picture the way he stood infront of his Father, his father’s words ringing in his ears like a constant symphony. Then he stood beside him, watching the Shimada Clan goons mess about like reckless animals. And beside Hanzo stood young Genji. Young Sparrow. Lively and alight with energy. Grinning the biggest toothy grin he could muster up to his eldest brother. The most precious smile that could grace the earth.

Then…

Genji was before him. 70 centimetres worth of Katana blade skewered through his Abdomen. The blade sticking out from his Lumbus.

Drip. Drip. Drip fell Genji’s blood.

The words of the clan Elders rang through his head. Each words like venom on a blade, sinking further and further through his indoctrinated mind. The idea that he truly had to kill his brother because he was a threat to the Clan. Because he was living life like a normal person, not like Hanzo had been told life had to be lived, and that he was failing to contribute to the clan.

He could remember the way he begged for Genji to cooperate. The way he pleaded for his younger brother to just listen. And when Genji refused, Hanzo had truly BELIEVED that ending Genji’s precious life was the only way. Ending that Precious smile and his childish heart.

It was his duty. He kept telling himself. Even as Genji struggled weakly against the blade. His gaze dimming and fluttering, even as he beat his fists against Hanzo’s chest.

Hanzo shot up from where he lay on his futon. Eyes wide, lips parted in a silent scream. His chest heaved with unsteady gasps. A hand tightly clutching at the Kimono top. His gaze darted around the room, trying to desperately blink away the image of his own brother.

This was Hanzo Shimada. A man, who had abandoned the clan name, all because he had truly believed he had slaughter his little brother. The little sparrow who had brought light and laughter to the Shimada Clan. Hanzo Shimada is a man who cannot forgive himself. He seeks honour. But how is he to seek honour if there is no one to give him that honour?

Also went to go watch The new Superman on Friday. Safe to say DC is BACK. Superman’s morals and actions and emotions???

Listening to “No Longer you” from Epic: The Musical is such an experience. There is so much foreshadowing for the next sagas, it’s crazy.

“I see the sacrifice of man.” Odysseus boy, you better pack it up because we know damn well you’re sacrificing your men to Scylla.

“Portrayals of betrayals.” ??? Bro, when Eurylochus kills the cow despite Odysseus begging him not to. The sons of his soldiers becoming suitors for his wife??

“I see you on the brink of death.” That’s crazy. Bro (Odysseus) heard this, still tried to fight Eurylochus and lost.

“I see your palace covered in red, faces of men who had long believed you dead.” This is so every suitor just having fun and beating the living crap out of each other. Leaving blood on the floor for the palace HE BUILT.

And we all know damn well Odysseus is the “Man who is haunting”. Since he becomes the “Monster” in the next song. “A man with a trail of bodies” yeah we damn know it’s Odysseus defending his wife and son with brutality born of a soldier who hasn’t seen them in forever.

And the CHOIR???

‘Sirens song.’

‘Scylla Throat.’

‘Mutiny.’

‘Lightning Bolt.’

‘Hurt Poseidon.’

‘Kill all the Suitors for love.’

Alright Tiresias, pack it up. We don’t need spoilers for the rest of the journey. Ruins the suspense…

The duality of those ‘Your month your ____’ will never not be funny to me. One moment they will be gut wrenching and hit too close to home. And the next… well…. See for your self?

A Dick Grayson Headcannon

I sometimes think that Dick Grayson is absolutely terrified of Heights. And no, I’m not talking about the comic strip where Heartless practically drugged Dick into fearing heights (because we’re disregarding canon, right?). I’m talking like probably fear masked behind a smile and little ‘don’t worry about it’s.

We all know that Dick is extremely tough, hiding behind a facade of ‘strong big brother’ even in the toughest moments. There are many interactions he has with his brothers where he plays Emotional Motherhen for them.

For example:

Jayburd’s got a horrible fear of abandonment and betrayal from the time of his death to his resurrection and with Bats not brutally ending the Joker for him. But Dick reaches out compassionately constantly as an older brother should. Yes, he wasn’t there when Jaybird was alive (but forgive him, he was going through angsty teen Discowing era).

Tim fears being alone and unable to live up to Batsie’s expectations. But Dick is extensively supportive of his younger brother even when Bruce himself isn’t. Dick trusts Tim and Versa Versa.

Finally, Damien. He has a fear of being seen as the same as his Mother and Grandfather. A merciless killer. A brutal boy. But Dick is still supportive no less. Yes they have their squabbles (I won’t forgive you, Damien, for killing Dick) but they’re still brothers and brothers squabble often. Dick is still the parental figure that Bruce can’t be.

But what if the accident from when he was younger, paired with the amount of times he’s dove of a roof or grappled over wide gaps, makes him develop a horrible fear of Heights. Perhaps maybe even going as far as to say it’s a Phobia.

He probably continues his vigilante work (diving off roofs, grappling everywhere etc) to counter the phobia, not that it works too well. He buys an apartment on a fairly high floor to desensitise him from his terror. And he tells no one.

When it gets too much, he tells no one. He wallows in himself. Stays away from windows and door that lead to the outside that isn’t the corridor out of his apartment front door. Nightmares plagued his dreams much worse than any of Scarecrow’s fear toxin. All mainly about the death of his Parents.

How they *fell to their deaths*.

And he fears doing the same.
