Y’know what. I’m tired of the mischaracterization of T.K.O, it’s time to lay down my ideas mf!!!
• Once you get through his emo exterior his sense of humor is definitely being the class clown. Like- he is the kid that screams in the hall, the one that lets intrusive thoughts win, owns their ADHD down to a fundamental level, says the wackiest shit, headbangs wayyyy too hard to a Lady Gaga song for shits and giggles.
• T.K.O is a literal manifestation of K.O’s coping mechanism, so usually he’s summoned to defend the main body; even if it’s downplayed as “he gets what he wants” sure, but it also means he’s incoherently doing the job of making sure K.O is ok. His emo/villain side is ironically a hero. So he’ll act sarcastic about it 24/7.
• T.K.O throwing hands with K.O is a rite of brotherly passage. Play fighting is a good healthy outlet, especially for therapeutic purposes on relinquishing anger issues. T.K.O loves sparring on the trampoline; less use of destructive powers and promotes healthy habits such as taking things easy… even if he broke the trampoline trying to reel in his powers. But after a few sessions he’s gotten better at controlling his ire and learning to be more empathetic. Not to say he is heartless. This boy exists because of a desire to be seen, a compassion commitment to make sure K.O gets what he deserves in life and one way to do that is: rebellion. They learn a lot off of each other by doing these little sessions. K.O learns new fight moves he hadn’t even comprehended he could do and T.K.O learns rationality in a department that deeply needs it, such as taking patience to recognize foe or friend.
• T.K.O acts like the eldest. C’mon, you see it. You see it.
• Acts douchey for a reason; it’s a defense mechanism to push out the folks he doesn’t want to talk with or isn’t worth the time due to recognizing behavioral patterns better than K.O.
• And yes, I firmly believe T.K.O is the kid to scream: “I’ll whoop your behind! Your girlfriend look like my mom!” or “Go to the mall and… uh… buy potato salad.”
• This boy is more than emo: he is unhinged and loud and wants to let everyone know he is good at what he does by doing exactly that. The literal embodiment of “ok, bet.” and prove everyone including his own self-deprecation wrong. Because you bet your sweet bippy this boy got issues, but can’t find the words so he blasts metal music to help convey his rage into words that can be digested.
To have K.O try to understand and step in his shoes is a beautiful start. He may not get it at first, but they are in this together. And I think that’s lovely.
