So why not some more.?
Hey, and why not!
.
Just odds and ends that l like. Nutcase at heart!
Go Ginger go. Some recently acquired candids and stills. Sorry no posts for ages. Sadly hospitalised for what seemed an eternity. Good to be back amongst the living! Thanks to all my friends out there. Just an aside. Recently met a guy who as a child had sat on Ginger's lap for a cuddle at a photo shoot. Said she had lovely clear skin and smelt delicious.
Haven't posted for a while, busy, busy, busy. Here are some great candids from Carefree. Freddie looking his adorable boyish self in picture one.
Just a few publicity photos from Carefree although the pyjamas didn’t make the final film.
During rehearsals for 'Let’s call the whole thing off' with director Mark Sandrich.
Ginger meets Louis Mayer and Arthur Freed on the set of Barkleys.
Shooting a wig test before the filming of the Hard to Handle routine in Roberta.
Two studio portraits from Follow The Fleet.
Ginger at her home around the late thirties, early forties, playing the soda jerk.
Ginger applies make up on the Carefree set.
Programme dating from 1931 theatre production of The Band Wagon. Helen Broderick was later to appear with Fred and Ginger in both Top Hat and Swing Time and she's sitting behind none other than the Wizard of Oz himself!
Some shots from the Castles. Two wardrobe tests from Ginger and Fred in his RAF uniform looking somewhat startled. I love this film because playing a married couple they are so relaxed and tender towards each other and in the final waltz their intimacy is off the scale
Happy birthday Ginger A very beautiful lady and talented actress. She could hold her own in comedy or drama but when she danced with Fred it was if you were looking at an angel. She was a rare talent and desrves more recognition. Thank you Ginger for your magic on screen.
Rather a lovely theatre program from 1927 when Fred and Adele were appearing in London. I've never come across a colored cover before and assume this was a specially painted portrait of the two. Wonder what became of the original.
