Day 1: Holding Hands

There was always something unusual about having skin to skin contact with a complete stranger, but it's unavoidable in a crowded night club like this one. Although it happened to be a rare occurrence for one young woman. She was always surrounded by ten of her closest friends, so mingling with the unknown wasn't mandatory. Tonight was a different story, nine of those friends had different engagements. Leaving her, alone, with him. She was never alone, with just him.
Normally, the two would be crammed in a booth with their friends, chatting, taking shots, dancing in the giant mob that dominated the dance floor. Instead they opted for a few mixed drinks, and some light discussion while crammed in a booth with many strangers.
"I'm not saying their jobs aren't difficult, but if a candy striper like me can do a better job. Shouldn't that say something about their work ethic?" She took a small sip of her drink before placing it on the water ringed table.
"Well, if you want my opin--" He stopped mid sentence when he saw a hand appear between them. One belonging to the outsider on the other side of his date.
"Why is a hottie like you, hanging with a dork like this." The man spoke loud enough over the blaring music for the two to hear.
"He's my friend, and his name's Tony." The girl stated.
By turning the conversation to the stranger, Tony couldn't hear what the two said back and forth. Instead of sitting back and watching his friend converse with a complete douche bag, he took her arm and lead her out of the booth and onto the dance floor. Making sure to blend into the mob of hot and sweaty bodies.
Tony's hand slid down her forearm and clasped tightly around her palm, allowing his fingers to intertwine with hers. She didn't know what to think until he pulled her in close in for a slow dance while the others around them continued to the rapid beats that echoed off the club walls.
"Effel, I thought we agreed for it to be just us tonight." The sudden closeness was for hearing purposes only.
"I stuck to my promise!"
"Yes, because taking to other random men is keeping that promise."
"You thought me and that slizzbag were flirting?"
"What was it then? Discussing the politics of the world?"
"I was just telling him that insulting a girl's boyfriend won't increase his chances in getting into her pants." The brunette giggled. "I guess that doesn't apply to us since you haven't asked me to be your girlfriend."
Tony didn't know how to respond, sure they were good friends and always had fun hanging with their housemates, but were they that serious? Nothing was said between the two as Effel pulled her body away from his and began dancing like the people around them. From the goofy grin that was plastered on her face he couldn't tell if she was drunk… Although her hand never left his.
