Therapists finding loopholes for mental illness things is one of my favorite things about dealing with mental illness because it really helps me understand that just because a reaction is Common doesn’t mean it’s Right. Does doing dishes stress you out a lot? Buy paper plates. Do your obsessive thoughts make you worry about leaving your curling iron on so you drive home from work to check? Just put the curling iron in your purse and bring it to work with you while we work on tackling where this worry comes from. Symptom management doesn’t have to look like drudgery.
i used to go days without showering because seeing my body was so upsetting that i would end up spiraling and then i realized i could simply turn the lights out. it took some getting used to but i’ve been showering with the lights off for years and it’s now one of my favorite parts of my day.
do whatever you want nothing is real and there’s no need to inflict unnecessary suffering on yourself just to try to seem “normal”

I was researching Keto recently, and one of the “simple” recipes was just “put some ham and some cheese, and a tomato on a plate”. And I’ve been doing the “put ham and cheese together and roll them up with mustard inside” thing since primary school, just because lazy.
Sometimes I just used one of the two and mustard.

Why shouldn’t their be billionaires? That makes no sense.
Because the existence of billionaires is predicated on the exploitation of human labor and unsustainable environmental harm. That level of wealth hoarding is harmful to economies, as it reduces the amount of money in circulation. No one person, no family, could ever conceivably even SPEND a billion dollars anyway, and it is inherently immoral to accumulate wealth so narrowly while so much of the world lives in abject poverty.
Better then to create a wealth ceiling, a point at which all wealth over a certain point is taxed at or very near 100% to incentivize people to actually spend their money rather than hoard it, stimulating the economy and bettering the lives of far more people. Better even still to create and regulate economic systems that protect workers and the environment in a way that such extreme levels of wealth accumulation aren’t even feasible.
The problem with this is that it reduces the incentive to actually do fiscally well. What’s the point of starting a business if you can’t become wealthy?
There is a very real difference between “reasonably wealthy” and A BILLIONAIRE
No one is saying you shouldn’t have a nice house, we are saying that having multiple really, really ridiculously nice houses while your employees are either homeless or at serious risk of becoming homeless is immoral.
I’ll never understand why this concept is hard for people. I think it’s because they can’t actually fathom how much $1 Billion is.

Let’s say you have a badass job. A great job. You make $100 AN HOUR. You work 10 hours a day ($1000 A DAY), 5 days a week ($5000 a week!!!), every week ($20,000 A MONTH), thats $240,000 Every Year.
It would take you 4,167 years to make a billion dollars.
This always sounds like people complaining that they’re not rich. It’s not a crime to be a billionaire and to virtue signal this hard is dumb as shit. Everybody knows damm well they wouldnt turn their nose to a billion dollars.
I 100% do not want or need a billion dollars. Not everyone is fundamentally motivated by greed.
been a whilr since ive been back here, but to help you out with the billion dollars, even if you made 100 bucks a second, at a 40 hour work week, you wouldn't even make a billion in a year. it would only take 2 years but as far as i understand no one in America actively HOLDS a billion dollars. wealth hoarding like you proposed is honestly negligent as fuck as far as keeping money safe, not to mention hard. my point being ing that most billionaires have their "billions" held in investments, working capital that is used to help, build, maintain, or sometimes just sit until needed.

It may be tangential. But last I checked the capitalistic country of America was the first to develop the internet. It’s kinda hard when your countries economy can’t handle such vast spending as they did.
