I completed the birb today at the craft fair! I was extremely validated as, when I was finishing it up. A person in a "bird watching goes both ways" shirt correctly ID'd it as a grey catbird.

Making a bird! I've got about 2/3rds of its belly left to sew on. This is my first 3D leather project that I drafted the pattern for, so some planning/pattern mockup shots as well.

Made some wrist cuffs! First attempt at stitching with an awl rather than punching the leather first. Soooo much easier on my wrist.

so. i was not happy with the 3D models of horses on offer in the CSP store or literally anywhere else i could find them, i needed one to use for my work, and i went ahead and made my own that is now available for the low low price of FREE in the CSP assets store.

textures included are greyscale basic shapes, multicolor basic shapes, and white with no shapes (but eyes, mouth, nostrils, and hooves emphasized for ease).

shape is ROUGHLY based off the silhouette of an Andalusian. size-wise, it by default stands at around 16 hands, but of course it can be resized to suit your needs. for that, I recommend sizing a human pose doll to the correct height (in centimeters), lining them up on the same plane, and resizing the horse to match the human doll's height. remember that a horse's height is measured at the shoulders!

I made a book!

This was an exercise in Learning New Things. I used two brand new stitches with just the wrongest possible thread, I learned several ways to not do a baseball stitch, I lined something for the first time (so the stitches wouldn't rub on the pages), I bound a book...

The technical specs are: it's 100 pages long-stitch bound to 1.5 oz cowhide lining, which was then sewn to the four ounce dyed vegtan outer cover.
