This is my cat, Brigitte.

24 hours after I brought her home, I got a mindblowing job offer.  Since I adopted her nine years ago, my life has become an amusement park.  She has brought me good luck ever since I took her into my home.

I’m telling you, there’s something about this animal.  Good fortune follows her everywhere.

I don’t want to be selfish.  I have everything I need and then some.  So, I’m sharing her with you.

Life is a funny thing.

I never, ever thought I’d be married — let alone to a woman. I just never pictured that for myself. I never thought I’d have kids. I certainly never imagined I’d own a home and have real roots of any kind, in any one city. It wasn’t what I necessarily wanted, you know? This wasn’t my big dream.

But now here I am sitting in bed with my wife, the love of my life, with our kid passed out between us and our second (almost, maybe, hopefully) kid asleep in the next room. We’re in a house that we actually can call our own, that’s really starting to feel like us now — full of our colours, our style, our things, our memories — and I honestly can’t imagine anything else anymore.

I can’t imagine anything else for myself that would feel this perfect. That would make me feel so...content. So happy.

This certainly isn’t the life I always thought I’d have.

It’s so much better.
