Honestly I'm thinking of just archiving this blog and starting a new one again lol. I've had this one for so long. But it's starting to feel bloated. Maybe too many fanbases on display here? idk.

Anyway, hi. If I do make a new blog, I'll update and follow people :)

She seemed genuinely excited, especially when he gave her his approval, nodding. "Aye, I am." She says, before tilting her head at some of the tags. "What's with the numbers on it?" She would gesture to the price tags, "Is it some kind of code?"

Seeing her act in such a way when he knew how she was treated and how she acted normally was certainly rather strange to him. It was nice seeing her in such a nice mood and reacting so positively to something as simple as stating that the outfit she had picked out looked good.

"Don't worry too much about that. Just give them to me," He said to her. He'd take the tags up to the front of the store and explain the situation before paying. As he waited for her to hand them to him, he couldn't help but continue to look over her outfit.

"Is this the only one you want? We can always come back for something else if you really want later but we may as well grab it while we're here yeah?" He asked.

Grunting and reaching.

"I JUST WANT MY FUCKIN PRINGLES!"

She stands on her toes and grabs him his chips.

She looks to him.

"...Did you need the cylinder?"

"I don't know what I did to deserve you but I'll never let you go,"

She exhaled a broken breath as the edges of her mouth curled into a weakness of a smile that wrinkled her skin in a line of sweetly bitterness. "You're so sweet." She whispered fondly as slender fingers ran through the dark locks that fell over her temples. "So very sweet."

Killed, was the verb of his choosing? Oh, as if they even had a choice. As if she hadn't already been encapsulated to the constant fear of being known, of being exposed since she made those realisations. "Death is almost likely for people like us. Look where we are. Look towards whom this dominion aims it's guns."

Lyanna stood up and grabbed her shawl wrapping it around her figure in an attempt of covering herself. Everything they did, down to every minor exchange of glances was borderline dangerous and could place them in front of a smoking barrel. Not to mention anything else of the things that kept happening between them those last few days. "This place has nothing for us but schisms, empty ideas of honour... This nationalistic cancer surrounds us and we will only be the firsts in line to be devoured." Separations, war, trauma and now his life becoming intertwined with her's, giving the impression of a future that seems a little less bleak, under the heavy coat of feelings that pooled inside her. "They're killing us." Blood pounded in Lyanna's ears and her vision disfigured, as if she were looking through a fish-eye lens. She couldn't stay near that damn city any longer. She clutched the cotton fabric, her fingers wrapped so tightly around it that her nails dug into her palms. Breathing was hard. Really hard. As if she’d just run a million miles of a marathon. Tears pooled inside her eyelids and violent chills dragged their way across her spine while she cried hard, her chest growing tight as bile rose in her throat.

He listened to her words, words of a woman realizing her place in this world. No. She made this realization a long time ago. She simply had to face the reality of who she was in a world that cared so little about who she was and what her life could really truly mean. Had he ever made that realization? Had Israel come to terms with who he was and what his life even meant?

No.

He still had delusions that he could amount to something, this idea that he could emerge from the ashes of a broken people and shine a light of hope on all of them. This delusion that he could be some sort of hero, a man of the people. Despite how desperate and broken he had become, he wanted nothing more than to do at least one thing right. And yet here he was, bringing a woman into his life when he knew damn well he had no life left to give.

That look in her eyes as her body caught up with her mind. The trembling, the tears, the telltale signs of someone about to lose control of themselves were all to recognizable to him. Moments before they lost themselves in each others embrace he himself was in her very position. Losing control, coming face to face with reality. The reality that he meant little in the grand scheme of things. The reality that he was simply born into this world for the sole purpose of suffering.

He stood and gently wrapped his arms around her, his hand resting on the back of her head as he drew her into a protective hug, attempting to create a moment of brevity in her life. He frantically searched his mind for an answer, a way to calm her.

He wondered if it would be more merciful to just end her life here and now...

No. He couldn't do such a thing. It was selfish, but he needed her to keep him grounded. He needed someone to recognize how broken he was and pick up the pieces. His own selfish need for her love and care far outweighed his desire to ease her suffering and grant her a merciful exit.

"I've got you~" He whispered, the only words he could find to offer any sort of kindness or comfort.

She seemed confused at first, looking where he gestured and went over there. She didn't understand why she had to bother, but she did as he told her, before setting about changing clothes.

After a while, she would come out, seeming quite proud of her attire choices, "Whatcha think?" She'd ask as she attempted to model herself. The outfit consisted of a purple tube top with a navy jacket with matching blue pants and boots, the pants being an interesting choice in design given it was not a solid pattern but more straps and cuts in places.

He waited for a few moments as she got herself dressed, folding his arms as his mind raced with everything they had in mind for the day. A change of clothes was something easy to cross off the list but the other things they were going to be doing? Leaving the city and starting to search for the underground. The underground would take time, but stepping out of the city could always be dangerous, especially if they were searching for metal heads.

Israel paused as she stepped out and looked over the outfit, his face tinting slightly pink as he examined the outfit. After taking it in in silence he swallowed hard.

"Looks good," He said softly, looking away from her now. "Are you happy with it?" He questioned, figuring they can just pay and walk out with it.

She would nod, following slowly inside, wherein her eyes were wide at the sight of the selection. She would look about in wonder and curiosity, taking time with each fabric and piece before seeming to be combining articles.

"Could I.. try them on?"

Israel glanced around the small establishment before seeing a dressing room. He nodded to her, glancing to see if anyone was in with just a quick once over before he turned to look at her again.

"Right over there. Just make sure you go into the room and lock the door. Don't need anyone walking in on you while you're changing." He said in a gentle voice, his tone quiet now that they were inside a smaller building where his voice could carry more.

"Likewise. It'll be nice to have someone to talk to other than myself." Not that Karlach minds talking to herself, it's how she's kept herself sane thus far but it's nice to have a friendly company willing to chatter away without trying to literally spill her guts.

She glances over at the greatsword that is offered to her and what a beautiful thing it is. Gleaming with blood and heavy looking, sharp, ready to be put to good use, and while she prefers axes, why not try out a sword?

"Sure, I'll give it a shot," Karlach says, closing the distance between the two of them to carefully take the weapon from his hands. It's light in her hands, compared to his she's sure, and she gives a testing swing in the direction opposite of them. Easy to use too.

"Could come in handy." She looks over at him with a fanged grin, "You sure you're okay?"

The way she spoke and carried herself was not at all what he was expecting after watching her fight. It was like a switch went on when combat began. Prior to the battle she was acting rather cheery like she was now. Perhaps battle was a reprieve for her, a way to relieve some form of stress or...anger.

Once she turned back to ask if he was sure he was okay, he put his hand on the wound on his chest for a moment before doing a few stretches with both arms to make sure the wound was fully sealed. He felt no pain or discomfort at that moment. If anything, he was just a little sore.

"I feel just fine, thank you," He said back in a soft tone. It was clear to see that the wound had healed under the tear on his shirt. "I'm a bit more concerned about you. Being hunted by Zariel and her goons sounds like a rough time. Taking care of them must feel like a..." He paused as he seemed to think about his next few words.

"Like a fleeting happiness, I suppose," He finished, a subtle frown settling onto his lips. Maybe she didn't share the sentiment. Perhaps holding onto happiness was the only thing that helped her push through the depressing thought he just presented.

She would nod, as if agreeing with him, "Yet it's all so much better than before." She'd sigh, looking down at her hands briefly. She seemed to ponder a question, but then lost it as they arrived at a meager shop. "How does a store work? Do I need to assume the position here too?" She'd tilt her head.

He gave a look of confusion to her for a moment. Assume the position? He tilted his head for a moment and stepped her away from the front of the shop. Was he just forgetting something they'd done earlier?

"The position? No, I don't even know what that means. Look, just find something you'd like to wear and show it to me. I'll purchase it for you," He said to her, motioning towards the door. "You don't even have to talk if you don't want to,"

Well, Karlach thinks it's a good thing he ran into her first, then. She'd hate to have to slice through him as if he was made of butter but she would have, if it came down to it. She's a woman desperate not to go back, after all.

There's a pang of guilt, knowing that Zariel might come after him for daring to help her. She wishes she could tell him she won't but the truth is - Zariel can be very vengeful.

"I-" Karlach glances up at him in surprise. He has already done so much for her and now he's offering her a place at his camp? How kind of him. She'd be foolish to deny him, even if part of her wants to simply because she's taken enough of his time as is.

"Well, I don't have anywhere else to go, so why not? 'Sides, I think that wolf of yours likes me, it'd be a shame to let her down."

Israel's gaze slowly shifted to Lysithea who tilted her head before wagging and panting, almost as if agreeing with Karlach in her statement. He gave a very gentle smile, nodding before looking to Karlach.

"It'll be nice to have some company that speaks back without having to cast a sort of spell." He told her, looking over to the bodies of the paladins and approaching them, grabbing hold of the great sword he had taken a slash from.

"This thing stung like hell," He said, picking it up and weighing it in his hand for a moment. "Could be useful for a fight later. You want it?" He asked, holding it in both hands and carefully offering it up to her. He wasn't exactly great with the up close and personal, but after he saw what she did with an axe, it felt like a good idea to hand it to her.
