Hammer To Fall- Queen (1984)
Eclectic Celebrations || Castiel, Dean, & Sam
Sam rested his head against the window, watching as they made their way away from the parking lot and finally began the trip towards their destination. And it was a trip they wanted to take - not one they had to.
"Its us, Bobby, and Jo, right?" He looked to Dean for clarification. He knew it couldn’t have been other people - they didn’t know other people, save Ellen and maybe Rufus - but he wanted to know if both Bobby and Jo were actually going to make an appearance.
Castiel thought for a moment about Dean’s question. He respected the gruff Hunter and knew him to be very knowledgeable and intensely loyal to the Winchesters. Castiel got cut off from Heaven at a bad time. Bobby Singer had performed an impressive act of devotion which landed him in a wheelchair without his connection to Heaven, he couldn’t heal the man. ”I was simply curious,” he said finally. ”This turn of events has caused a minor uproar. I have been attempting to discover more about the strange man in the blue box. He is not of this planet, but he has been here often.”
"Pretty sure," Dean replied, keeping his eyes on the road. It was practically Jo's idea, it'd be criminal of her to not show up. Not that 'criminal' would stop her, in any given situation.
At Castiel's reply, Dean made a noise of acknowledgement. Yeah, he could see how some kind of futuristic time god in a telephone box would cause a fuss. Not to mention the thing with Lucifer.
"Not from this planet, huh," Dean mumbled, tapping a finger on the wheel. After a minute of thought, he shot a glance to Sam. "Guess we're dealing with real, bona fide aliens here. No tricks this time. That's kind of a big deal." He smiled, but Dean couldn't decide if he should be excited or terrified. Shouldn't they be informing NASA about this kind of stuff? Or the FBI? Whoever you tell about first contact? Speaking of which...
"So," Dean teased with renewed enthusiasm, glancing between Castiel and Sam. "Who's Mulder, and who's Scully?"

Sam shook his head. “Yeah, you look good too,” he returned to Cas. Though…he tended to always look exactly the same. He looked a little less severe than normal, so, he supposed that was a good thing.
He handed his bag to Dean before popping open the passenger door. “I wouldn’t complain if food was added to that plan,” Sam pointed out as he got into his seat, waiting for the inevitable onslaught of music.
Castiel gave Dean a small frown, but didn’t comment further. He understood that trapping Lucifer and saving the town from demonic infection was a victory. The conflicts still raged and Heaven was likely still in an uproar about it all. Things had been delayed for a time, but nothing at all was settled. His family was behind the conflict and he was apart from them.
Castiel got into the backseat of the Impala and sat in the center. ”I would think that food would be wise if alcohol consumption is to happen.” Getting around in the vehicle was a slower way to travel, but he was getting used to it. ”Will Bobby Singer be there as well?”
Dean shut himself in with a grunt and turned the keys in the ignition, a satisfying rumble breaking out beneath them. He hummed happily, running a hand over the wheel. It felt good knowing he could drive without death and destruction waiting on the other side, just friends and family and lukewarm beer. "We can grab some grub," Dean conceded, flicking on the radio and glancing in the rear view mirror. "Far as Bobby, yeah, I think so. Why, you miss him?" Dean teased. The idea of Cas and Bobby striking up a bromance was a little bizarre, but he wouldn't be too surprised. Both grumpy and older than time.
The Impala started inching down the concrete, picking up speed once they backed out of the lot. Clear roads, Dean thought, glancing around the horizon. It's a good day. The trees whizzed by beside them as Dean let his mood seep into their speed.

Sam started getting ready the moment it sounded like things were a go, so it wasn’t long after Dean himself was ready. His stuff was packed away, his weapons carefully stowed. That didn’t stop him from doing one last cursory check, double and triple checking to make sure he didn’t leave anything behind.
"I’m ready, I’m ready," he responded after Dean’s second call. He tossed his bag over his shoulder, his own phone nestled securely in his pocket as he stepped up beside his brother, pushing the door open and stepping outside, holding the door open for his brother on the way.
Castiel frowned listening to Dean. He could hear him yelling at his brother even though he muffled the phone. That was pretty usual for the two brothers. He liked them both despite Sam being what he was and the history that existed between all of them.
Castiel pulled the phone away from he ear when Dean shouted. He saw a door open on the hotel and the distinct shape of Sam standing in the doorway. ”You both look well. I’m still confused as to why you wanted to meet.”
Dean mumbled a ‘thanks’ and followed Sam out the door, letting it swing shut behind him. These motels seriously needed to start greasing their hinges. They were gonna get complaints.
Once Cas was in view, Dean snapped his phone shut and tucked it into his pocket. Anticipation was bubbling up in his gut, but Dean tried not to look too excited; he’d be the first to admit this wasn’t Castiel’s usual gig and didn’t want him getting scared off. Not before he’d had a couple drinks, at least.
"It’s a gathering, Cas, a celebration." Dean shot Sam a grin and opened the trunk of the Impala. "Booze and family, what more could you want?" He unloaded his things into the trunk and reached for Sams, slamming the back shut with a satisfying click once it was loaded up.

Castiel frowned as he stood by the black car that he knew belonged to Dean and Sam. ”It’s Castiel, Dean. Jesus is a very different person,” he said still talking on the phone. He wasn’t completely used to being here on Earth and using the things humans used.
It wasn’t difficult to locate the car once he’d had a location to look in. He didn’t know Jo very well and didn’t want to show up and startle the young woman. He thought she might react badly to that. He wasn’t concerned that she’d hurt him, but he’d been made to understand that it wasn’t the best way to get to know people.
So, he stood by the car and waited for the Winchesters.
Dean barely concealed an eye roll as he hefted his bag strap onto his shoulder and turned back to the house. "Yeah, I figured." Jesus probably had a better sense of humor, and definitely went with more of a beard than Castiel's perma-stubble. Dean mused on whether or not asking Cas to turn water into wine would be insensitive while he made the short trip to the door.
"Sam! You ready to walk out?" He called, muffling the phone speaker against his jacket. Scanning the room, Dean didn't see anything he might've forgotten. It paid to be thorough, though; he'd only left something behind once, but it was enough for the maid to call the police about. Most people didn't take kindly to finding bloodied silver in their dirty bedsheets, who knew?
The plastic of a flip phone felt cold against his cheek and his neck was bent in an awkward position, but it gave him the extra hand he needed to rustle through his pockets one last time. Weapons, lockpicks, backup lockpicks, backup weapons, and the Bible he'd stolen from the motel's drawers. Check. Now he just needed his brother. "Sam," Dean barked again impatiently, forgetting to muffle the speaker this time.
The things that I saw — there aren’t words, there is no forgetting, there’s no making it better.
I do my best to be brave. Maybe your dad wants you to be brave.

Dean Winchester: You're--

Dean Winchester: Oh, Jesus. Okay. Prompt. We'll be out in a second.
Phone Call: Dean and Castiel
Castiel: Down is up now? I will need a location if you want me to be there.
Dean Winchester: Jo's place, not too far from where me an' Sam have been stayin'. You can just, you know... pop in, whenever.

Phone Call: Dean and Castiel
Castiel: I don't know what you mean by down in that context. Is there some sort of problem?
Dean Winchester: No, no problem. Down, not like down, down, but down like... up for it. Just-- would you go? All you have to do is show up.
