This is the giant anteater (Myrmecophaga tridactyla), one of four extant species of anteater from the suborder Vermilingua (which means "worm tongue").

Other species are the silky anteater (Cyclopes didactylus), the southern tamandua or collared anteater (Tamandua tetradactyla), and the northern tamandua (Tamandua mexicana).

All anteaters have elongated snouts, small mouths, and a long, thin tongue coated in sticky saliva. They don't have teeth but they don't need them with a gizzard-like stomach that has hardened folds which contracts to grind the swallowed insects.
