LUANN.
✤
Luann hadn’t been expecting anything from Piney, so she can’t help but furrow her brows when he mentions having something for her. Her confusion isn’t helped any when he goes on to tell her he knows Otto can take care of her and like a fucking school girl, she finds herself blushing. “He doesn’t need to take care of me,” she is quick to counter, but she can’t deny the absolutely ridiculous crush she’s had on him since the two started spending time together, like she’s fourteen and still thinks her prince charming is out there, something she’d actually given up on years ago. Ridiculous. But she doesn’t dwell on that, instead focusing on the knife he holds out to her. “Jesus, Piney,” she practically gasps at it, holding it between her thumb and index finger and examining it. While Luann has definitely had her fair share of violent thoughts about the less than gentleman-ly men she works for these days, she’s not entirely sure she would ever be able to follow through on any of them. “If I didn’t know any better I’d think you were tryin’ to get me on second degree murder,” she jokes, closing her palm around the handle of the keychain-knife-hybrid. At least it’s pretty.
“Well yeah, not when you got this thing.” He was almost giddy, ready to watch the look on her face when he gave the knife to her. The knife looks huge when she’s holding it, it didn’t look that huge in his hands. “Can’t get in trouble for defending yourself, darlin’. Say it was self-defense, you’ll always get away with anyone that’s bein handsy or whatever. And you know if you do murder...” He trailed off, “Just come to us before you go to the damn police please. Come to me. The last thing we need is your ass in jail. And we know how fucked the system is.” He could go on a whole rant about it but instead he changed the subject. “So not sayin’ you should get me a birthday present but when the time comes, I won’t turn it down.”
