PINEY WINSTON.
âź
He kept his mouth shut, knowing that if he continued to joke around sheâd probably get even more pissed. But then she mentioned getting something and his ears shot up. Eating dinner was one thing. Not having sex was a whole other thing, even if he already had a fair share tonight. âYouâre all worked, câmon, baby, lemme help you release all that.â He knew theyâd end up in bed together by the end of this argument. Not that he was complaining by any means. âI forgot, Iâm sorry.â How many times could he apologize to her without sounding like a broken record?Â
âWell consider this a rare occasion. You know how it is, Iâm the VP, Mare. I canât just leave when I wanna.â He felt bad lying to her but there was no other option. If she knew the truth, sheâd probably castrate him. âItâs just dinner. I just missed dinner. Iâm here now. Iâm here. Doesnât that count for somethinâ?âÂ
It certainly was not the time for jokes considering the fact that he was eight hours late for supper and dealing with his very disappointed wife because Mary had different hopes for how tonight wouldâve gone and it didnât involve fighting with her husband. âDonât touch me,â she warned with a raise of her hand in his direction before shaking her head at him.  âYou donât get to come home eight hours late and just expect me to spread my fuckinâ legs for you.â Her words came with a raise of her brow in his direction before crossing the kitchen floor again and raking her fingers through her hair.  âYeah, well, sorryâs just a word, Piney.â Mary pointed out as she folded her arms across her chest almost defiantly. âIâm not fallinâ for your bullshit.â Truthfully, she wasnât exactly sold on the idea that he simply got caught up at work, however, she wasnât sure where that particular rabbit hole would lead her and she wasnât sure if she was ready for that truth. Despite herself, she grabbed a plate out of the cupboard for him, however, before she could pass it to him, she stopped and held the plate in front of her as he spoke.  âJust dinner?â She snapped as she turned to face her husband with an incredulous look upon her features before smashing the plate on the floor between them.  âNo, it fuckinâ doesnât.â She barked before storming off toward the hallway trying to get as far away from him as possible.
