Let me be frank: Argentina is not lacking in culture and beauty and it's a shame for it's international reputation to be tarnished by a ball game of all things. I understand what aficiĂłn is, even though I couldn't care less about football, but it gets to a point where you can't rely on something this toxic for your cultural export.
And I say this as a Spaniard whose number one complaint regarding my country is that football is prioritized over the rest of our cultural output. So I sincerely mean this.
