I am radqueer, pro all trans-ids and paraphilias, as well as all other identities. I do mean all. Long time radqueer, coined trans-severity and MUD.

My plural identity is fluid so sometimes I will present as plural, sometimes as singlet but most of the the time as something inbetween or other.

I use hyphens when talking about my identities as it is easier for me to read and process.

for the record im not technially 100% anti-AI, in the sense that its a broad category of tech being lumped under one umbrella term so it feels over-zealous to say i hate all of it all the time forever. but i also think trying to discuss what it actually IS good for is difficult right now when i cant take one step without something trying to convince me to use chatgpt to summarize my life and speed up my hobbies and turn my friends into chatbots and optimize my life into oblivion. i am certain there is nuance to the topic but can we stop cramming the square peg into the round hole before you start trying to sell me on the legitimate benefits of the square peg. please.

here's my super-quick, easy-to-digest summary that i use when i can't spend more than like 15 seconds on it but need someone to know the basic distinctions:

generative AI - bad evil AI. chatbots, LLMs, image generators, etc. this the one that steals shit.

analytical AI - helpful medical AI. this the one that helps detect cancer early.

game "AI" - fake AI. 100% human created and dictated. this the one that determines game mob behavior n stuff.

losing the battle with my own self-control so will briefly comment and say that categorizing certain types of ai as straightforwardly good and other types as "bad evil," even for the sake of summary, doesn't really hold water. just to give two counterexamples to the distinctions drawn above, large language models ("evil") are being used by human rights groups to parse huge datasets about police abuse while analytical ai ("helpful") is also the kind of ai that animates facial recognition software and the increasingly ubiquitous searchable license plate databases that police are using to stalk people. the goodness or badness of a given ai tool has less to do with its type and more to do with things like scale and scope, transparency, ownership, and contextual application.

radqueer gift exchange

the time has come, the walrus said (/ref), for radqueers (and adjacents) to make art for other radqueers!!!

you can now sign up for the radqueer gift exchange (link)

you make requests for raqueer art (ANY kind of art, whether it be writing, drawings, etc etc) of your fandoms as well as an "original work" fandom, and once sign-ups close, you'll be assigned to someone else and you can make at least one of their requests throughout radqueer pride month!

be sure to read the intro and rules before signing up, as well as the little instructions on the sign up page :]

sign-ups close 27th August

assignments should be sent out around 1st September

assignments are due 30th September (about 11:59pm BST)

you'll be able to see everything everyone has made on about 4th October!

also, let me know if you want to be a pinch-hitter, which is someone (who doesn't necessarily have to be signed up) who fills in for anyone who has dropped out. you can also post treats to the collection whether or not you've signed up, which is a fulfilment of a request you weren't assigned to. you can see all the requests here (link)

My puppy picks up some chocolate and I tell him that he shouldn't because chocolate makes dogs sick but he says "well I'm not actually a puppy so it's fine" but then later he gets really sick and I cuddle him as he clutches his stomach crying and I tell him it's all because he ate that chocolate earlier and he should let me pick dog safe treats for him.

Of course, the real reason he got sick is because I laced the chocolate with something but he doesn't need to know that.

this is fucking awful, obviously, and I hope this parent gets the book thrown at her when it comes to sentencing.

but I am really struggling not to be amused by the fact that the kidnapping failed. the target of this unhinged plot escaped, got caught, escaped again, and called 911 for help. her mother and two accomplices did the whole thing to prove to her how vulnerable she was and instead she just kicked ass.

i feel sometimes theres this artificial choice made between either seeing autism as a disability OR as a neurotype to take pride in, & like the assumption that people who see it as a neurotype aren't disabled by it / people who see it as a disability don't take pride in it and just want it to be cured. im simply too much of a cripple for this binary i feel because i see no reason why we can't acknowledge it is disabling AND it is a neurotype one can take pride in. "disability" does not imply Wretched Curse We Must Eliminate.
