Larry is the begruding accountant and personal mechanic to Chairwoman Geeta of the Paldean League, an organization dedicated to picking the most elite fighters for their private force.Once issues arose with the ancient mecha, he was forced into combat with his staraptor.
Corbeau, Head of the rust syndicate, doesn't fight often but prioritizes defense, a good counter for most speedy builds.
The syndicate is currently attempting to quell the threat of rogue ancient machines in their own ways, not caring if they must destroy the historical mech in the process if it means they can keep the world safe.
Emmet is one of the twins who used to run a recreational battle center for mecha, now subsided to assisting in transporting supplies and troops for the whoever pays the price to help with the current crisis
A general idea is that most legendary and mythicals have their own special suits from ancient times that unnamed antag has revitalized. The Pokemon league is determined to keep them intact but mose others just want to keep people safe so it's a mixed bag politically.
Pokémon exist in this world still but they aren't as powerful as before. There are a lot of mecha inspired by them and it's the most common variety which results in a lot of interesting and unique suits.
Emmet pilots #604, a tunneling mech that functions much like a train. It has cargo capcity as well as passenger space, however it's optimal for tunneling and a quick escape. It works well to take foes off guard.
Corbeau pilots #545. A centaur shape provides extra stability when in a defensive position- it is able to curl up into a ball to defend itself. Big horisie
Larry pilots #398, it's an older model but it is incredibly fast. It works well in the air and space enviorments, but can hold its own on the ground. It fights mostly with legs, using boosters to assist with heaftier damage.

Being ripped away from someone who was an actual part ot you so suddenly is devastating.
We'd never been apart for more than a week since we were born. He was completely gone and I didn't even get the consolation of death. Just that he was out there experiencing the same pain and he was lost.
He was missing. We were physically connected at the arm when we were born, we had to have a surgery to seperate us. we - we share blood in more ways than one. It hurt so badly.
He... didn't recognize me at first either, he thought I was a reflection or a trick.
I'm sorry I put you through the same grief. I abandoned you. I hate myself for it I really do but I had to find him.
Larry: C'mere..
Emmet: I wanted to apologize for everything I put you through. But I will never let you forgive me. Not after everything I took from you.
Larry: Oh hush. I'm just as bad. I didn't let myself move on until I heard you were ok. I really do care about you, much to my own dismay- I still love you. You're still a little shit for that though.
I am um... in a different relationship now. I'm sorry.
Emmet: I completely understand, if I was in your position I would too. Thank you for even hearing me out
Larry: I feel it'd be wrong if I didn't consider what you had to say. I'm happy you came. It gave me a lot of closure and I hope you both recover well.
Emmet: I'm sorry for hitting on both of you. I thought it'd make it easier to talk but I am Emmet and I am embarrassed.
Larry: It's okay, I understand. He is pretty hot..
Corbeau: You know Emmet, he never shuts up about you even now. Sometimes he talks about you in his sleep.
Larry: Beaune!
Corbeau: If you're up for it I think we can make up a little more over dinner. I Know we both don't mind making a little more room in our hearts. And our bed
Emmet: HUH.
Head canon time
Ingo and Emmet were conjoined twins, just a skin fusion on to their arms but still significant. I read a few studies about sudden loss between them and how it affects their psychology and it isn't fun.
Emmet didn't take anything other the clothes on his back and his pokémon and started searching like a mad man. He didn't tell Elesa or Skyla or anybody where was going, so to a lot of people both of them disappeared before Emmet popped up on their door step about 5 years after.
Larry was a mess when Emmet disappeared, he couldn't stay in Unova after the second year of Emmet's search, and he was incredibly relieved when he heard from Skyla that Emmet was okay, but couldn't bring himself to go back to see him yet. Emmet wasn't mentally ready to handle visitors either way and buried himself in research.
Anywho time skip, Ingo returns with Akari, Emmet's estatic but also like MAN? And after a year or so they expand the battle subway to Kalos (where Larry and Corbeau are being chummy).
Most of it will be explained better in the next installement of SPLAT's series that I'm gonna call Exit Signs.
