lighterwise kiss metter that i ran on twitter a bit ago!

Happy New Year! It's not new year for me quite yet but I wanted to post it early anyways. May this next one bring some more in-game lighterwise moments to us!

To me, the most interesting thing about lighterwise is the overlapping themes of loss and the right type of emotional support that they are able to provide each other to help each other through their respective traumas.

Lighter is a man who was placed in a leadership role and suffered great trauma from losing everyone in an accident. In service to his lost friends' family, he sold himself to an underground ring to pay for their livelyhoods. Though he was saved from that situation and lives a happier life with the Sons of Calydon, He suffers from heavy survivor's guilt and has passive suicidal tendancies. He has trouble trusting his own ability to keep other people safe and tends to take dangerous solo missions because of it. He also doesn't want to burden other people with his past, yet appreciates it when the other SoC members takes the extra step for him in spite of it.

Wise, who in his life has had to be the reliable older brother figure, knows what it is like to have people rely on you and the burdens that it comes with. With time, Wise would be able to get Lighter to open up to him and help him see that he doesn't have to keep it to himself any longer.

In this animatic, I wanted to explore that idea of Wise being truly there for Lighter even when he hits his absolute lowest. Wise is an analytical guy and is pretty observant of other people's habits and tendancies. If Lighter were up to no good, he would figure it out something was wrong pretty fast.

I made this animatic back in May as a dedication to all of the canon (and implied) trust events with Lighter! This was my first time making an animatic for a ship I liked but I still love it despite it being a little rough lol

Making this comic started the root of my hyperfixation for lighterwise and I've never looked back since. They are everything to me.
