"Pilar, guess what?!" She's got one of her hands tucked behind her back as she jabs the toe of her boot into her brother's snoozing side. "Get up and guess!!!" Clearly ignoring her brother's annoyance, she finally reveals what she found. A horned lizard rests in her palm, head tilting around as it takes in its new surroundings. "I found it in the Badlands on a pile of trash."

That was all he could think when his sister comes barging into his
room, an annoyed groan emits from him as Becca jabs him with
her boot, half tempted to grab her ankle & dangle her in the air with
the aid of his long limbs.
But somehow, he refrains.
One of his large hands goes to palm at his face as he sits up, not at
all matching the energy of his sister [ honestly, when did he ever? ]
as he sits up in reluctance. He knew he wouldn't be able to get a
word in with her so excited like this, so he doesn't even bother
answering verbally. Just waiting for whatever she had to show him.
The sight of the horned lizard should surprise him. It really should.
But it doesn't. Becca always had a soft spot for animals, much to
their father's annoyance, but it never really bothered Pilar, not to
that extent... But what did annoy him was her wanting to take in
whatever animal she might find either on the street or in the waste-
land that was the Badlands.
He wasn't going to help pay for that thing.
As annoyed as he was, & as much as he wanted to be a pain in
the ass with how groggy he was from waking up from quite the
pleasant nap... He could be better. Maybe show some positive
reinforcement, er... Was that the right term? He didn't know.
He didn't have to be an ass about it. Not when she looked so
excited.

Ugh... He might. Deep down, he knew he might.
