Jumpsuit A song about how hard it really is to escape.

Lyric: I can’t believe how much I hate, Pressures of a new place roll my way. My Interpretation: Leaving a bad place, especially a mentally bad place, is very difficult. It’s uncertain. It’s scary. The freedom should feel good, but it’s terrifying. You’ve never been somewhere like this before. I think this lyric is Tyler saying now that he’s “escaped” Blurryface, the new freedom is scary. Life with insecurity is a trap: it feels like a safety blanket.

But it’s also scary. A jumpsuit is a prisoner’s suit. Life without Blurryface is scary, since he held Tyler captive for so long. Tyler longs for the ease of being imprisoned again. He wants the jumpsuit to make life easier, where he doesn’t have to fight to be free. He wants to escape the fear that comes with being free. Go back to what he knows.

Was Blurryface a friend? Just trying to keep him safe? Is the pain he feels when captured better than the fear of being free? He has been struggling with these questions his whole life.

He feels as if he’ll always return. As if he always owes something to Blurryface.

Customers telling you life stories is so surreal. This guy once told me how he was starting to love himself and realized that he didn't need a man to feel fulfilled all over a pile of fruit I was stacking in my school's dining hall. Like, that's beautiful.
