Liz was tending to her garden, watering the plants, feeding her piñata, all the usual things that come with her career. She knew Hemlock would be coming down from the mountain to visit today so she wanted to get all her chores out of the way first. While visits from the sour were common Liz always found them special. Humming to herself she kept an eye on her mallowolves as they sniffed around the borders of her garden.

“Hmm that would explain what took you so long to return.” Pester glared down at Kichi before smirking, “a decent enough grab I suppose. Better than what the others have brought today. Put what you’ve gathered with the rest of todays candy and I’ll get to it later, I have plans to make.” Pester waved a dismissive hand before turning back to the desk. “And I will be checking later. Do not try to cheat me ruffian.”

Picking up on the tension the mallowolves began to growl but made no moves. Liz simply sighed, leaning on her shovel, “And who made up these rules? Sour vs sweet, ruffian vs mallowolf? My best friend is a sour this stupid debate almost lost me her friendship when I went sweet but clearly our care for each other was stronger than that. If you don’t want to be friends or take my help that’s fine I won’t force anything on you, but I will encourage you to find some.”

“My offer still stands but if you begin to get violent I will escort you out of my garden for both of our safety.”

Kichi glares again "ofc u think im going to go violent why wouldnt u thnk that" Kichi teared up a little "ill be out of your hair dont worry" Kichi storms off angrily.

Kichi goes into the forest in the direction of another garden "i am a ruffian i wreck things i dont make friends"

Liz watched him leave, a frown on her face. Part of her wanted to stop him but she could see he needed space. She glance down at the patch of dirt he had been working on and pulled out two carrot seeds to plant.

It wasn’t long before she could hear the excited barking of her mallowolves. With a grin on her face she turned to greet Hemlock. “Hem it’s great to see you!” Liz couldn’t help throwing her arms around the other werewolf.

Hemlock wrinkled her nose and patted Liz on the back, “it stinks here, did some idiotic ruffian try to come in?”

“Sorta,” Liz said, her frown returning.

“Who do I need to hunt down,” Hemlock snarled.

“No one Hem,” she said with a laugh, “he was actually rather nice, nothing like a normal ruffian. We had a nice chat but he just left.”

Hemlock stuck her tounge out, “of course you’d be trying to befriend a ruffian. Gross.”

“I befriended you didn’t I?”

Hemlock narrowed her eyes and growled, “watch yourself frosty.”

Kichi sat down "she was trying to be nice and i pushed her away" Kichi sighed "im just not suited to be social am i bud" The opsumcake glared as if to say no everyone needs friends. Kichi gets back up "Ill just go home..if thats what it is

Kichi walks up to pesters volcano a strange weighted feeling in his chest.

Pester sat in his office, idly spinning his chair as he waited. There were no schemes for the day or any plans so he was simply waiting for his ruffians to return with whatever goods they’ve managed to get. Not that he had his hopes up for most besides a couple.

Kichi walked into the room and sat down he decided to try and pretend to be invisible. hed managed to get some candy but he wasnt sure it was good enough for his usual delivery. The opsumcake fell asleep on kichis lap and kichi stroked it planning what to say

Lost in his mind Pester failed to notice Kichi entering the room. His chair spun around again and not expecting to see the ruffian he flinched with a startled Yelp. Quickly coving up his surprise he glared at Kichi. “Welcome back you certainly took your time today. I hope you’ve managed to do your job unlike some of the other minions around here.”

“I know a bit about that myself,” Liz said with a sigh, “something happened when I was younger which left a lot of people hating me. I only had my mallowolves and eventually Hemlock. Eventually it got better, moved somewhere no one knew me and started anew.” She glanced at the mallowolves, “looks like they’ve calmed down some so we can walk around.”

She gestured over her shoulder for him to follow, “but that was the past, I try to keep a positive attitude and give people a chance. Pester though euhg can’t imagine having to deal with that guy all the time.”

Kichi smiled a little "well it's better than having no home at all." The opsumcake woke up and looked around. Kichi picked him up and held him the opsumcake reached out to Liz a little. "I think he likes you it takes him time to trust people are you good with sours too?"

“I think I’d go back to living in cave than with that man but I understand.” Liz laughed as the piñata reached towards her, “you could say that I suppose. Some of my pack used to be sour. And Hem’s still like me too. If you ever need a room to crash in sometimes though I’m willing to let you borrow the guest room here.” She glanced towards the mountains, “my friend Hemlock will be coming by as a heads up. She’s not gonna like you, she doesn’t like anyone.” Liz laughed.

Kichi looks away a little "not sure I want to meet anyone else..I'm not good with people" Kichi looks b ehind him "and I haven't got any candy ugh pesters gonna be mad at me." The opsumcake licks Liz's hand then looks sadly up at Kichi.

“That’s fair, she’s not the easiest to get along with unless you know her,” Liz smiled. The smile quickly faded into a scowl at the mention of Pester, “as much as I don’t like that man I’d rather you not deal with his nonsense either so tell you what. If you wanna go clear a patch of grass in the corner over there you can have any whirlms that wander in. They easy and quick to attract so should be some quick candy for you.”

Kichi considered this "hmm i hope that would be good enough for him he has annoyingly high standards" Kichi walks off the opsumcake stays a little further back watching curiously

“I don’t think anything could ever please that man,” Liz rolled her eyes. “But hey think of this as little lesson in gardening if you ever want to get into it yourself. We can even plant some carrots and see if we can get some bunnycombs if you ever come back.”

Kichi looks up for a moment "why are u teaching me all this?" Kichi wasnt used to being treated as not a pest. Even his opsumcake looked confused "thank you but i probably shouldnt come back..i could be in big trouble." Kichi shivered as he thought of something that had happened when he was in trouble before

Liz’s smile softened, “like I said I’ve been in crappy situations too. Been chased out of towns for being a ‘monster’ when all I needed was a helping hand. Why should I spread that misery when I can help instead?” She tilted her head, studying Kichi, “your welcome back anytime bud this is a safe garden. And if that red pest tries anything, well-“ at this she grinned baring her fangs, “I’ll just have to show him the monster people thought I was.”

A young man about the age of 20 was keeping an eye on lizs garden "its a pretty garden mabye they could give me tips..ah no..everyone shuns me.." The man thinks. A small sour oposumcake climbs onto the mans head and licks his cheek. The man gets up brandishing his pinata stick he heads towards the garden.

It wasn’t long before the mallowolves began to snarl, scenting the stranger and the sour piñata. Liz was quick to focus on her pack her own ears twitching as she scented the air. A ruffian. She couldn’t help the small growl as her eyes flashed red. Spotting the incoming person she put on a strained smile, slightly baring her fangs as she walked towards the border. She hefted her shovel over her shoulder as she called out a greeting. “Hello there stranger! I wouldn’t recommend coming in here at the moment, the mallowolves seem a bit riled.” She could see the smashing stick but it couldn’t hurt to be civil first, she hasn’t seen this ruffian before.

The man narrowed his eyes "oh cant i just look around a little wont touch anything promise" The opsumcake growled "its fine roadkill calm down". The man turned to liz again "i think theres been a misunderstanding and i apologize". He lowered his stick and offered his hand, "tell me more about your garden then" The opsumcake went to sleep seeing that his master was not in any danger

Lizs smile became a little more genuine but there was still some suspicion in her eyes. She stuck her own hand out to shake his, “Elizabeth Varg but you can call me Liz.” She looked over her shoulder to give a sharp whistle, stopping the mallowolves from growling. “Well I’m not against visitors but if you come in I’d recommend sticking close to me,” she gestured to the piñata who still prowled the border.

“They’re bred and trained as guard mallowolves so they can be a bit protective when it comes to strangers. My flora may be a bit lacking though since my focus is on them.”

The man looked at the wolves "you put alot of effort into training them it seems". "My name is Kichi although im surprised your being friendly are u tricking me somehow?". Kichi still wasnt entirly convinced he was used to either being bashed on the head or begged to leave.

Liz smiled fondly at the wolves, “yeah they’re like a family to me. A little unfair to the other piñata but I have to admit I play favorites.” She looked back at Kichi, tilting her head, “I have no tricks up my sleeves. As long as you don’t start smashing stuff you’re welcome in here. While I can’t say I’m fond of ruffians I’m willing to give people chances. Heck my best friend is a sour.”

It was naptime for the kindergardeners but Tom couldnt sleep it didnt help that Tord was kicking him and Edd was sleep talking. Suddenly he heard a shout. No a scream. Tom slipped out of the window and ran into the forest. With a horrified gasp he realised the woods were too quiet what had happened to that person.

“More fun,” she growled with a smile before pouncing, attempting to pin Edd to the ground. She didn’t pay the group behind her much attention as she focused on Edd, simply thickening the shadows to hide them.

Edd still remained calm as Arsenic pinned him to the ground. "So like wanna talk about this reasonably like humans or "bats"

"Okay someone needs to jump in their and get Edd" Matt sighed but Tom and Tord are immobile" He thought to himself

“Reason? Never heard of,” Arsenic cackled, flashing her fangs. Her tail raised behind her ready to come crashing down on Edd’s chest.

A rock is thrown from the shadows and another young boy steps out

"hey leave edd alone you brute!!"

Matt cries out " Paul it's not safe here!"

" no bats gonna hurt my friend" cried Paul

Arsenic hissed as the rock hit her tail, causing it to slam into the dirt mere centimeters from Edd. She snapped her head in the direction of the new kid, eyes flashing in the darkness. “Too late,” she grinned, digging her claws into Edds shoulders. “Want to try taking? Not go well,” she taunted.

Paul gasps "noo let him go" Paul leaps onto arsenics back clinging on. Matt is still trying to wrap up Tord and Tom's injuries

Arsenic reared back with a snarl, trying to shake off the pest on her back. She snapped her tail towards her back trying to hit Paul.

Paul braces himself. Edd kicks arsenic in the stomach. Tom steadily gets to his feet. tord is still unconscious. Edd cries out "take that!"

Arsenic grunts at the kick, it’s not strong enough to hurt but it’s distracting enough for her tail to miss and force her back a step. With a deadly grin she spreads her wings and shoots into the air. She pauses a moment before hurtling towards ground in a tight spin, hoping to dislodge or dizzy her passenger.

Paul sees the ground hurtling towards him and holds a hand ove his mouth he starts to feel sick. "What do u want u crazy bat!"
