That's right! Pindit has been opened to the public in a pre-beta state. This will help us iron out any bugs and fine tune things.

Hi All,

I guess we've been a bit vague and secretive about Pindit so far, I guess its about time we show you what Pindit is actually all about. The following three screen shots will show you how to find your news, around you.

For example - I'm in Melbourne, Australia and want to look at news that has occurred recently. 

Hover around the pins that are in your general area.

Get a headline of the article/note pinned at that location.

Ooh... I'm interested in those night markets, click through ... 

Have a read of the article, and this is where members can share the article/pin on Twitter or Facebook, leave a comment, or rate the pin positively or negatively.

Humble Beginnings

Hi All,

Welcome to the development and “what is?” blog for pindit.com. 

What is Pindit you may ask? … Pindit is what we like to call “open journalism” but with a twist. All current news sites list what news is happening, well… everywhere… It may be miles away from where you are, sometimes across the globe. In reality, people want to know what is happening around themselves, and what is happening right now. Pindit will give you the choice and opportunity to read about what is happening in your local area.

It could be an accident down the street that's blocking traffic, fallen power lines, road works, a community event, live bands, train delays or just some breaking news that’s happening in your suburb or city.

You also can contribute to the news. The beauty of Pindit is that we invite budding journalists, bloggers and those wanting to share news and events to do so. All you need in an account with us and you can start contributing to your local news. We want to change how you read your news and to make it more relevant to where you are.

We have something, it's new, it's gonna change the way you look at this, and who said what to who.
