with a new year comes new goals and i am also no longer in high school so my old introduction requires an update 🫡 but hello hello

i'm ally, i love pink and i think looking at my studies in pink as well as sharing my notes online fill me with a lot of joy and thus the pink academia studyblr account was born

my goal is simply to get a grade average of 90+ for this year! and to also meet lots of very clever people and to engage with my community both online and irl

i recently made the realisation i was more extroverted than introverted, i just had a lot of social anxiety lol

i'm also currently studying a media/arts double degree and in my first year if thats any relevancy

yayy thats all have a cookie for making it this far 🍪 i look forward to reconnecting with others and seeing everyone else's posts once more

arghh i forgot to post yesterday

um,, assignments have been kicking my ass as usual but surely i will win in life eventually! i've actually been finding it quite relaxing to just sit in bed and do my readings because being able to highlight stuff at my own pace is very soothing

i'm not being lazy, i'm incubating(?) 🥚🐣

as i sipped chugged my iced coffee this morning, i decided that i would forgo a few things that are the stereotypical hallmarks of healthy productivity ✨

i didn't meditate. i didn't journal. i binged a Chinese reality show while eating (coincidentally) leftover Chinese takeout for breakfast. definitely not an aesthetic easily romanticized without squinting a bit 👀

but sometimes less is more. i finished a week's worth of psychology readings, i got a proper workout in after the last few off days, and spent quality time with my loved ones. the most important thing is to feel happy and loved by yourself and with others.

it's too easy to fall into the trap of doing these "hot and healthy" things just to fit myself into some "that girl"/"it girl" ideal, so i want to try (again) to be more intentional about doing them in ways i genuinely believe are helpful to me.

what do you mean its march. february felt like forever but somehow it's already march? anyway i did more criminology study today yesterday and realised i was taking too long so i'll have to revise my study methods. any advice for speedrunning studying? 😥

i had to wakeup call myself yesterday because i honestly was just fucking around and like. it wasn't good. like it was really bad but it was like pretty much mental illness and me constantly distracting myself with activities and friends and all that. but. we're gonna make it i hope.

in this house we get HD for high distinction 💪 also because i'm hoping to transfer into law next year lol i'm currently studying criminology and pr/advertising

i printed a lot of sample writing tasks and sample essays so i can have a clear idea of what's considered "good" writing for the exam, and? i haven't? seen? someone? get a band score of 9??? i'm lowkey scared now yikes 😬

also, i generally consider myself to be a good writer but writing within a time limit really is just another level entirely huh

i was worried i won't reach the required minimum amount of words but based on the practice essays i've done so far, i've already got the amount down to pat and what i need to improve on is actually writing faster 🫣

might focus on writing tomorrow still and i'll practice slowly towards,,, probably reading??? on the weekends ✊🏼

I'm back! classes started last week and we're already into the swing of things! thankfully I don't have weekly assignments for every class, but I do have to summarize a lot more notes since so much is based on memorization

I hope back to school has been treating everyone else well too :)

My grandparents are visiting for the next two weeks. I'm very excited that they'll be here with us. We're going to take field trips into the city, so I may not be posting as much as typical during this time. However, I will do my best.

Tasks Completed:

Geometry - Learned to classify triangles by sides and angles + practice + learned about interior and exterior angles of triangles + practice + honors work

Lit and Comp II - Studied Unit 3 vocabulary + completed imitating poetic devices assignment + read Chapter 7 of The Adventures of Tom Sawyer

Spanish 2 - Reviewed vocabulary + took a quiz on family and age

Bible I - Read Genesis 21-22

World History - Read ancient Hebrew notes + read about Confucianism, Buddhism, the Mauryan Empire, and the Gupta Dynasty + worked on an illustrated timeline of the history of Egypt + worked on a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting the teachings of Hinduism and Buddhism and listing the laws of the Eightfold Path + answered questions for each law

Biology with Lab - Filled in blanks on note page + wrote a paragraph on how to use the scientific method

Foundations - Read more about availability + took a quiz on Read Theory + created a time-use log

Practice - Practiced assigned pieces for 30 minutes and worked on memorization

Khan Academy - Completed Unit 2: Lesson 5 of 9th-grade reading and vocabulary

Duolingo - Completed one lesson each in Spanish, French, and Chinese

our community activity today was bleh. i enjoyed our OPD sessions in pediatrics more. it was so hot (it was held in a covered court), then the travel time on the way back took TOO long (2 hours) because it was raining so it was sooo traffic!

so i just had lunch with a friend then drove home. decided to workout at home instead and go through my to-do lists tonight which is going great so far. i just finished studying so i’ll finish doing laundry now while i watch red, white, and royal blue.

good evening~ i'm a hermit so i'm permanently indoors and i do most of my work on my laptop but look at these baked goods my teacher got me ugh i love her

i got some work done today so i'm happy 🥰 i've been in a slump recently but i managed to squeeze out 2 hours today after i made the realisation that i couldn't become the top 1% of my state if i just kept going the way i was going now. tomorrow i hope to do some more but i do also have afternoon classes so we'll see :')

this semester, in lieu of a full course load, i decided to do an experiential semester and do an externship while taking one in-person seminar. luckily, the credits amount to a full semester so it's a really good opportunity :)) yesterday was the first day of my externship! i still didn't have much to do today either so i journaled at a café and kept an eye on my inbox before my seminar...

Yes I am aware I am posting a day late, but I was extremely bummed out yesterday and didn't want to be on social media. Instagram decided to not show my reel which I put so much effort in to anyone and I was this close to impulsively delete my account (I didn't, thankfully).

Anyways today (Sunday) has been better and I am definitely feeling much better about myself (and that account lol, it lives one more day 😌).
