ik thousands of ppl have said this before me but what's particularly great abt selfshipping is knowing that your f/o would never ever hurt you.

they'll treat you with so much love and care, exactly as you deserve, and they're very eager to show it.

you can put all of your trust into them because you know that they love you so much and you're the one that has meant the most to them out of everyone they've ever met and nothing and no one will ever be able to change that.

they can't even stand the thought of ever replacing you, they'd get a bit self concious for even thinking about that.

Your f/o would always make you safe food! They’d gently encourage you to eat and never tire of reassuring you that it’s safe. They’d be so proud whenever you managed to eat, and tell you as much. They’d always make sure everything is clean and keep anyone sick well away from you. If there’s something triggering, they’d hold you close and reassure you and make you feel as safe as they can.

Your f/os love you and each other so so much, and are always finding new ways to show that. You’d always be getting random gifts and trinkets from your partners. If you all live together, there’d be so much love and care. You’ll always have someone looking out for you! It’s also not uncommon to walk into a room and two of your f/os are just gushing about you. Also, dinner table conversations with the polycule would be the BEST

Imagine your f/o asking what gender/pronouns you prefer every morning, and then immediately giving you a complement based on this. They think you always look (and are) amazing, and often joke that you’re so lucky to pull of every gender. They’ll often mix terms too, like ‘this is my boyfriend, she-‘ (if you’re comfortable with that! It’s just smtng that makes me happy as a genderfluid person)

Imagine telling ur f/o how pretty she is and she just lights up. You can help her paint her nails and find pretty outfits and she’d be so happy! At the same time, having your reassurance that she looks gorgeous and feminine even in masc clothes/after taking off makeup ect would literally mean the world to her. Imagine you (aggressively) correct any transphobes and she’s just watching you with the most obvious heart eyes because you just make her feel so safe and adored.

-they’d promise you that you’re safe now, you’re safe with them, and they’ll never let anyone hurt you

-they’d be so proud of you for opening up to them about what happened and they’d be so supportive

-if you need a laugh, they’d make fun of the person/people who hurt you with you

-and they’d assure you that that person/people didn’t deserve you

-if that person/people ever did find you again, your f/o would keep you safe and be very protective no matter what

-they’d come to recognise your triggers and would subtly put an arm around you if someone unknowingly said/did something that makes you nervous

-they’d reassure you that they love you so much, too much ever to hurt you, and that they want what’s best for you. They’d wonder how anyone could ever want to hurt you, someone they love so much

-you’re safe with them. You’re safe now

Here are some slightly specific comfort imagines I’ve thought of tonight!

-if you stutter, your f/o would never make fun of you. Even if they’re usually impatient, they’d be happy to wait for you to finish what you’re saying, and if anyone made fun of you or rolled their eyes, your f/o wouldn’t hesitate to tell them off (or just GLARE in their direction)

-if your f/o senses that you’re nervous while you’re in public, they’ll gently put an arm around your shoulder/waist and subtly pull you a little closer to reassure that they’re right there and they’ve got your back

-if anyone decides to be a jerk to you, your f/o won’t hesitate to call them out and tell them they’re being totally unfair.

-whether you’re normally pretty sturdy and thick-skinned or you’re always easily affected, your f/o would always back you up and comfort you if something that seems small made you upset. They’ll never think you’re ‘too sensitive’.

-and lastly, if you’re someone who shakes (whether it’s due to tiredness, anxiety, a disorder, or whatever) your f/o would always be there to help you carry things, turn pages, or whatever you need.
