Donatello the Ravenclaw
Donnie is considered the "late bloomer." His magic not manifested until he was 15, specifically when his brothers left for school. Before that, he lived full-time with their father "Splinter". He attended a muggle private school, but he he was bitter over the fact that his brothers could stay together in the best magic school in the world while he's stuck here, in a place where people have no knowledge about the Wizarding world, no idea that the magic they fantasies about is actually real. He did make one friend tho so at least he's not completely lonely.
The day he accidentally made his chemistry set levitate was the happiest in his life. His father was quite surprised but obviously very supportive. Getting in contact with his "good friend" who came to the house to confirm that, yes, Donnie is indeed a Wizard.
Donnie's training started right away. Students of Hogwarts have to start school at 11, so starting at 15 makes things complicated. They could put him with the first year's, but you have to pass all O.W.Ls before you come of age. Otherwise, they lose the right to their magic altogether. So he HAS to start school as a fifth year in order to graduate on time, and he has a LOT of catching up to do. (If you ever played Hogwarts legacy, you can see where this is going)
Needless to say, his brothers were very surprised when they came home and found their smartest but magicless brother DOING magic in their living room. Leo at first thought it was a prank, but when it was explained to the three of them that Donnie would be attending Hogwarts with them, they threw a big party for Don.
Raph and Mikey were the most excited. Raph bear hugging and rough housing with him, Mikey cooking all his favorite meals and snacks. Leo, on the other hand... it's not that he wasn't happy for Donnie, quite the opposite, Leo cracked jokes and poked fun at him for "taking long enough" in his lighthearted way, he even made a bet about which house Donnie would be in.
But Donnie noticed two things.
First being, Raph and Mikey didn't convers with Leo that much, mostly just to ask to pass something or politely ask him to move when walking past him. And Leo didn't try much to respond, only giving one word responses. Not like the playful bickering they did not only a year ago.
Second, Leo seams.... stiff? Like he's constantly tensing up, bracing for something. He's still as cocky as ever, as arrogant as ever, as smug as ever. But the smiles seemed a bit more forced, the acting more inauthentic. Donnie seemed to be the only one who noticed, however, and since all the attention was on him, he really didn't have much time to think about it. Even after Leo left the party early and locked himself in his room for the rest of that summer.
Ok, so..... I'm drawing Donatello if he was a student at Hogwarts, and I'm having trouble deciding what wood type his wand should be. I narrowed it down to three.
Black Walnut - (Charms)
Fir - (Transfiguration)
Willow - (Healing magic)
More info on the wood types based on the official Hogwart website with Wands Woods.
Black Walnut
Good instincts and powerful insight, but not the easiest to master. It has one pronounced quirk, which is that it is abnormally attuned to inner conflict and loses power dramatically if its possessor has any form of self-deception. If the witch or wizard is unable or unwilling to be honest with themselves or others, the wand often fails to perform adequately and must be matched with a new owner if it is to regain its former prowess. Paired with a sincere, self-aware owner, however, it becomes one of the most loyal and impressive wands of all, with a particular flair in all kinds of charmwork.
Fir
‘The survivor’s wand’, because it was sold to three wizards who subsequently passed through mortal peril unscathed. There is no doubt that this wood, coming as it does from the most resilient of trees, produces wands that demand staying power and strength of purpose in their true owners, and that they are poor tools in the hands of the changeable and indecisive. Fir wands are particularly suited to Transfiguration and favor owners of focused, strong-minded, and occasionally intimidating demeanor.
Willow
An uncommon wand wood with healing power, and the ideal owner for a willow wand often has some (usually unwarranted) insecurity, however well they may try and hide it. Many people are attracted by the handsome appearance and well-founded reputation for enabling advanced, non-verbal magic, but are consistently selected those of greatest potential, rather than those who feel they have little to learn.
Raphael is my favorite boy, but WHY IS HE SO HARD TO DRAW!?
Anyway, he's obviously a Gryffindor. ❤️✨️🦁✨️❤️
Gryffindor's have bravery, nerve, daring, and chivalry. Other traits include a strong will, determination, and a passion for doing what is right, even when it is difficult. Most known for their courage, which can be both physical and moral. They are willing to stand up to others, face challenges, and defend the weak. They have a strong sense of honor and loyalty and are often protective of others and are passionate and determined, and once they set their mind to something, they are persistent. They are driven by a strong moral compass and will often do what is right regardless of the consequences.
However, Gryffindors can also be impulsive, hot-tempered, or reckless, sometimes acting before thinking things through. They can be selfless and compassionate, have resilience, a lack of prejudice, and are vary outspoken.
Raph is a big teddy bear 🧸🐻 he loves giving physical affection to anyone he talks to for more than 5 minutes, though he often forgets he's the size of a house. He often has to have his clothes modified to fit him, and most of them are made of more sturdy materials since his spikes tend to rip them up.
He definitely falls under the popular jock stereotype. Everyone knows him and respects him. If anyone is in trouble or is getting bullied, they go to him for help.
He also plays Quidditch like Leo, but as a beater. His massive size and strength make him perfect for blocking his teammates from stray bludgers or hurdling the same bludger at the opposing team, often using his tail instead of his bat. When he was brought on the team in his second year, he was given special padded armor for his tail as a welcome gift from his teammates. Now, in his 6th year, he's training to take over the team as captain when the current one graduates.
He's not really sure he's ready or even wants to BE captain, but everyone's already assumes he agreed to it and is now expecting him to.
Raph and Leo aren't on speaking terms. At first, it wasn't that bad, some small petty rivalry because they were in different houses, Gryffindors and Slytherins are mortal enemies after all, but they were still brothers. Then Leo started acting wired, didn't laugh as much, blew off brother bonding time to hang out with the other Slytherins, and made more sarcastic comments that felt more like insults. Raph tride talking to him several times, they always ended in a yelling match. Then Mikey got hurt during tryouts, Raph overheard Leo telling Mikey that "They weren't cut out for it" and confronted him about it. It got heated pretty fast, and a lot of hurtful things were said. (Mostly from Leo), and it ended with them never talking to each other unless they have to.
🧡Mikey's turn. He's obviously a Hufflepuff💛
Hufflepuffs are most known for values of hard work, loyalty, patience, and fair play. They are also inclusive, accepting all students who demonstrate these qualities, and is often characterized by its members' kindness, trustworthiness, and strong moral compass; Typically practical, value teamwork, and have a love for family and comfort.
Now isn't this just Mikey to a T?
As you can see, they are gender fluid 🩷🤍💜🖤💙 and will vary regularly configure his uniform/clothing to match what she's feeling in that moment. Also, they use every nickname that has bin thought. Mikey, Mike, Angelo, Angela, Angel, Miguel, and probably a lot of other nicknames. (Give me ideas) The only time he hears his full name is then they're in trouble. Merlin forbid someone says first and last name. Not even the teachers use his last name because she asked them not to. She wants to be friends with everyone and sees the best in people, although that can sometimes lead them to trusting people who have less than good intentions.
As for the separate dorm, they couldn't make a choice between the girls' or boys' dorms, so the headmaster and head of house gave them this compromise. They agreed on one condition. Their door would be open to anyone who needs it, whether that be a quiet place to study, talk about what's on their minds, or need a safe place to sleep if the nightmares get really bad. Mikey has a corner of his dorm dedicated to hoisting guests, complete with a mini kitchen (always stocked with snacks), fainting couch (that turns into a bed when sleep overs happen), coffee table, lamp, books, and a vary comfy "Doctor feelings" chair.
He's the most gifted at spell casting and charms. They come to him easily. Can't say the same about things like potions or astrology. He takes herbology because he enjoys gardening and even has her own little corner of the greenhouse, where she has normal fruit, veggies, and hurbs for cooking. (You'd think cooking would be similar to potions, but no. Making things taste good is vay easier than curing boils or making literal liquid luck.)
He also picked up care of magical creatures as a hobby 1st year because of Raph. Smaller creatures scare easily, and bigger ones try to square up, so Mikey made himself the mediator. He does it more so he can spend time with his brother, between her being the youngest (4th year) and Raph, the oldest (6th year). They don't spend as much time together like they used to, and it's the same with the twins.
She tried to join Quidditch 1st through 3rd year as a way to get close to Leo, but..... after the 3rd try, she got hurt and ended up in the hospital wing. They never saw Leo so mad. They had a really bad fight that ended with them on bad terms. They haven't really talked since then. Not even over the summer. Mikey tries reaching out, but Leo has shut everyone out.... something is definitely wrong.
Hopefully, this year will be different.
I recently got really into Hogwarts Legacy (and just Harry Potter in general) and will forever be obsessed with Rise, so I thought, "Why the hell not?" and started making a Hogwarts Rise AU. I only have Leo done rn, so if everyone actually likes this, I'll post more about it.
Given it a lot of thought and I firmly believe that Leo would be a Slytherin.
Slytherins are known for their ambition, cunningness, resourcefulness, determination, self-preservation, pride, and leadership
Now, while leadership is technically a slytherin trait, most stereotypes don't really pant them in a good light, and so Gryffindors are more likely to be in leader roles in social circles. However, it doesn't apply then the friend group is primarily Slytherins and has a ring leader. These are mostly bullies, though.
Slytherins have a strong sense of loyalty to friends and family, and while most stick to the "purest" mindset and focus on lineage, Leo is a non-conformists and his loyalty is to his brothers (who are each in different houses) and not the opinions of his house-mates nor the reputation of his house.
Leo also stands out from the other Slytherins because he has a strong moral code, which is mostly seen in Gryffindors. This is because his brothers (mostly Raph) have a desire to do the right thing, and his loyalty and love for his brothers tend to make his decisions and actions seem aggregate to others, other Gryffindor trait.
Before Leo got sorted into Slytherin, he fully believed be would be Gryffindor like his older brother Raph. This is why he shows traits of both houses and is a big reason why he hates his house. He really doesn't want to be here.
One thing he will always love though, is Quidditch. He works hard to be the seeker of his team. Even though Slytherins are known to play dirty, Leo refuses to follow his captains orders and plays fairly, and respects other team members. (Even if he is salty if he loses, he's still sportsmanly, just competitive)
Unfortunately, because he "doesn't follow orders," his team gives him shit and makes it hard for him to play. Giving him old or oversized gear and outdated brooms. The beaters sometimes not even defending Leo. Leo is undeterred and just works harder to prove to everyone and himself that he's capable and worth something.
