This is my side blog focused on Ryusae and Blue Lock. Just a heads-up: I can’t follow any blogs or like posts using this account, so I’m sorry if I don’t follow back.

Oh I’m gonna lock in so bad when the next chapter is out. It’s been so long since we’ve seen Shidou on the field. I bet Charles is just as hyped as we are. I’m really looking forward to seeing how Shidou and Barou work together and maaaybe we’ll even get Sae’s reaction to it 😆😆
There’s still no Shidou in sight in the manga, so for now I’m consoling myself with butler Ryusae and their chibi bocchan.
It’s kind of sad to admit, but my interest in Blue Lock has been fading and I’ve noticed the same thing happening with a lot of other people too, especially as I keep seeing them move on to other fandoms. That said, I’ll still be waiting for Shidou to come back though.
Looking at Shidou’s instinctive, almost animalistic playstyle and his physical prerequisites, he likely wouldn't thrive in a classic combat sport with rigid rules. He needs the freedom to move in every direction.
𖦹 Based on his weapons in Blue Lock, here's my assessment:
⌕ Muay Thai (Thai Boxing)
𖦹 This would probably be his perfect match. Why?
Knees and Elbows: Shidou often uses his entire body on the field and doesn't shy away from violence. Muay Thai is known as the "Art of Eight Limbs." Shidou loves to physically dominate his opponents — knee and elbow strikes would fit his aggression perfectly.
Mobility: His extreme bicycle kicks and aerial acrobatics show that he can use his legs from any angle. The powerful kicks in Muay Thai would ideally utilize his enormous leg strength (seen in his "Dragon Drive").
⌕ Taekwondo
𖦹 There are some fan theories that Shidou (similar to his real-life inspiration, Zlatan Ibrahimović) might have a background in Taekwondo.
Acrobatics: The spectacular spinning kicks in Taekwondo resemble his "impossible" goals scored from mid-air.
Flexibility: Shidou can contort his body in the air like almost no one else. Taekwondo would perfect this ability to strike from any imaginable angle.
⌕ What about Boxing or Karate?
Boxing: Likely too restrictive for him. Shidou is a "full-body" type of player. Using only his fists would bore him, and he would probably be disqualified constantly because his reflex would be to use his legs.
Karate: Too disciplined. Shidou hates rules and rigid structures. The etiquette and the fixed forms (Katas) of Karate would drive him crazy.
⌕ MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) ✅️
If Shidou were to truly fight, it would be MMA. He is an "instinct fighter." He doesn't want to beat an opponent on points — he wants to "destroy" them to feel alive (his signature "explosion").
𖦹 In MMA, he could combine kicks, knees, and ruthless violence without being held back by too many rules.
⌕ In short:
Boxing is too boring for him, Karate is too stiff. Give him Muay Thai or MMA, and he would be an absolute beast in the ring. But I believe he'd enjoy Taekwondo the most, to be honest :)
English is not my first language, and I also don't really know a lot about all these martial arts lol, but I watched a few youtube videos 🙈
Being a monoshipper in the bllk fandom is honestly hard sometimes, because wdym every time there’s a ship war people tell us to polyship? Like nope, that’s not the solution here. Though I agree that some monoshippers can be very defensive about their ships, polyshipping doesn’t magically fix everything, and inserting my fav into another ship I dislike doesn’t suddenly make me like that ship either.
The real solution is learning how to ignore, curate your space, and start muting or blocking ships you don’t like instead of engaging with them. Trust me it works way better. And I’m saying this from experience. Being a ryusae monoshipper has taught me all of this firsthand.
Charles is out here representing the entire Shidou fanbase, he really never misses a chance to ask where Shidou was, love you Charles ❤ He’s so based for saying France is going to sweep Japan because they didn’t play him. And Bachira basically called Shidou a benchwarmer lol that was so foul of him.
Tbh it makes sense that blue lock is sticking with the same formation from the Nigeria match. That setup gave them a massive win, so of course they’d use it again to test France before switching players. And with how rough things are looking right now, yeah i guess Shidou still has a chance to get subbed in.
But… but… if Shidou really does get subbed in, knsr you better make him score. Don’t you dare turn him into a bum. No seriously i cannot deal with people calling him a fraud all over again 😭
The merch and collab team really is the only thing feeding the Ryusae fandom and keeping us alive. And they consistently make them look amazing as well. Without them, the Ryusae nation would’ve been living on nothing but dust for years 🥲
Also I love the way they put chains and spikes on Shidou, like you can tell they put way more effort into everyone’s designs for this collab.
Being a Shidou fan basically means surviving on crumbs, but it’s still kind of amazing that people are willing to wait for him. Tbh, I get why Sae doesn’t appear often since he’s not a blue lock member, but seeing Shidou get sidelined the same way just feels ridiculous, esp when he’s an official player and a top-ranked one at that. I really wonder if there’s a reason knsr is dragging this out for so long without even giving him a backstory.
My wish for this New Year is for Shidou and Sae to be back in the manga, bonus points if they have a moment together. We’ve been starving for their content for so long. May Kaneshiro have mercy and finally feed us!
Omg they seriously can’t be separated. It’s like whenever one of them is placed somewhere, the other has to be right beside him. And Shidou’s tongue and Sae’s wink… why are they doing this to us 😭
Please bring them back to the manga already. It’s such a drought in there.

There was a time when everyone thought Shidou fell first in Ryusae, but to me, Sae will always be the one who fell first and Shidou the one who fell harder.
Like, Sae is literally the one who took interest in Shidou first and the one who made a demand just to play with him. And don’t forget that he even went out of his way to pick him up from blue lock himself when he could’ve easily asked someone else to do it.
As for Shidou, I think he initially only saw Sae as an uptight, world-class player and didn’t have much interest in him. But that changes completely once he realizes that Sae values his freedom and never tries to restrict him or undermine his need for explosion. Instead, Sae encourages it and that’s when Shidou truly falls hard for him.

I hope we can see Shidou’s ponytail in the manga too or at least his hair down again. If we can get Sae’s bangs, then we can get this too. Pls nomura-san, I beg you.
Honestly, I’m a switch Ryusae truther, which means I don’t have a strict top/bottom preference for them. But the amount of people who portray Sae as a super-submissive omega bottom has kind of made me back off from strictly bottom Sae fans. Especially when Bunny got introduced, it really gave them an excuse to make him a bottom in every way possible lol.
