And so I’ve just finished The Kite Runner and wow how do I say, it has been a mixture of strange feelings. I am most ‘concerned’ about Amir- I was really irked about him because he was such a crappy friend and I understand that if you’re not feeling too great, you do occasionally lash out on those closest but this cannot account for everything Amir did to Hassan.

And what made the novel all the more powerful was the fact Hassan never once doubted his loyalty towards Amir.

However, I suppose I became one of the suckers who fell for everything Amir did afterwards, and in turn started liking the book and feeling even a little bit proud of how he turned out.
