I did this while watching the episode (which I honestly don't remember the name of), so I decided to doodle a bit

such a deep personal scene from me i've always found difficult to convey was the end of Act 1, Steven's rebirth. Rambling below 👇

For anyone unaware who hasn't seen my timeline (posted in my faq), Steven clinically dies at the end of Act 1 after a very violent flare up sends his body into a catatonic shock, and his organs begin to fail due to an experimental parasite White placed in him in hopes to separate his organic and Gem half. (Unbeknownst to EVERYONE). His Gem focuses on trying to be rid of so much so, that the rest of his organic body begins to reject itself. Steven begins to bleed out.

Steven has a fountain that flows with Pink's essence. Mixing it with Blue and Yellow's helped him subside his symptoms, but it was always a quick fix. Connie takes him there to try and fix him but it's too late. It's not until she sees the white energy literally trying to force its way out of his Gem does she decide she needs to remove it to remove the parasite. Which she does with no hesitation, tossing his gem into the water and breaking the hard light energy flowing around it. White's essence is what completes the healing essence, and revives his Gem completely. Reforming with rose buds and thorns all around.

The two are finally reunited. His Gem slowly dances with its limp other half, this time there's no laughter to comfort Connie, to echo in the halls. Gliding along the water of the fountain. Silence, until a bright light overcomes the two and Steven is finally revived and well! Not to say all his problems are fixed. He still has painful days, permanent nerve damage around his gem still causes painful flare ups, but they're manageable. He still has damage in his eye but it's nothing compared to finally feeling whole. Not sick anymore. His two halves not fighting to stay alive. Hes never felt better, physically anyways.

This was probably my favorite scene to write, it's horribly sad, especially for Connie who's watched Steven nearly die TWICE. I may do a bigger painting later, but i'm so happy i finally managed to get this on paper. Or well, on screen lol

so instead of being productive at all yesterday I made a height chart for earth and for homeworld

Made me realize Steven is relatively massive and i'm giggling he's like a brick wall made of marshmallows
