ive only heard about universal praise for how it plays

Magic was the best TCG for 25 years because it had the best resource system and nobody else had figured out how to make a good one. Flesh and Blood has an equally good and imo more interesting resource system.

Mtg : RTS games :: FaB : Fighting games

In magic you can establish engines and build up board states with a freedom of scale. In fab, players have equal access to resources throughout the game and simply have to use theirs better than their opponent.

As someone who grew up playing magic (starting in RTR 2013) Flesh and Blood has stolen my heart. It also didn't hurt that wizards put it in the dumpster before that but that's not in the spirit of the topic.

R1 - vs Michael Jaszcur on Aurora

He's running Snaps + Ironweave in the mirror, which is pretty interesting. Not having AB at all means that when I play Sigil of Suffering with double Channel Lightning Valley in play I draw 2 cards (pretty good). I lost to Burn Up // Shock on a Snatch pumped by Lightning Press for exacies. Yuki sides Lightning Press out into aggro, so I wasn't playing around it. I definitely should have been tho; he had 1 in hand and arsenal with no action points and I still beat a blink anyway. Oof.

R2 - vs Oscillio

Sometimes, you draw 3 sigil of Brilliance in the first 2 turns. You win those games. I did not have any chance to play the game. Took mind warp for 11 damage after eating 4 Gone in a Flash. Cool Hero!

Round 1 vs Full Fatigue Levia (L)

Round 2 vs Azalea (W)

R1 Levia was so cringe. Mixup 1 is presenting Levia instead of Rhinar. Then I notice the thicc deck. Then I notice the romping club. Then I cry. A good player would have pitch stacked, but I was blinded by the turn 1, 2, and 4 swing big :/

R2 beat the BEST Azalea in Canada :3 bit of sloppy play on both sides; op missed first tunic counter, I missed my second double strike attack. Had a good turn of Hundred winds x3 into winds of eternity. Took a 12 dmg red in the ledger, responded with Warmongers diplomacy. She picked peace and passed. Double strike 4 wide for lethal.

R3 Dromai I got to dishonor on turn like 3, game was still pretty close somehow. He had 2 Burn them All, and managed to just play a dragon for 2 arcane for 4 turns. Got there with kodachis.

R4 Lost to my teammate, the best kind of loss. Turn 1 Tomeltai blow up my mask gottem ggs. Game sux. Dropped.
