We're doing an active shooter drill at work today. Fake gun, actors, law enforcement, the whole shebang. So I'm currently locked in my office, with the lights out, pretending not to be here. So far, all we've experienced are texts informing us of the drill, and asking for us to let our managers know where we are. It's been like 40 minutes and I'm getting bored.

So the divorce is chugging along. It should be final by the end of next month. Colorado has a 90 day waiting period, so we're just waiting. All our forms are filed. My mom and sisters know. Haven't told my Dad yet. Kinda hoping my mum or sisters tell him, TBH. Not that I expect him to be unsupportive, it's just a weird conversation to have.

Ummmm... oh yeah, I moved my office into the guest room to give my ex the bigger room. So that he'll be more comfortable. It's still in process. I still have the closet and chest of drawers to clean out. But my back gave out. It's okay, he's not in a rush. He's been sleeping on the couch for weeks anyway. Says his back likes it better than the guest room bed? Whatever, I'm not pressed about it.

My therapist asked me if I had my housing situation figured out yet. No, I don't. There's still so much time before I move out. We'll probably put the house on the market in April or May. That's a good 6 months still. But the housing market is so bad here, that he suggested I start putting myself on waiting lists. Just in case something opens up for when I need it. Which is probably a good idea. I'd really rather buy, but there's just nothing near my price range.

And then there's this whole student loan debacle. My loan got put on forbearance with one year left before my loans are forgiven, which suuuucks. Do I call and have them take me off that plan? Who knows how long this case is going to take! Or do I just enjoy a few months with no payment? I'm trying to save money, so that would be nice. Not as nice when repayment starts, though. Decisions decisions.

Monday, September 2nd

Today is brought to us by unions! Thanks to all those folks who worked so hard (and keep doing it) to make sure we have safe working places, days off, and so much more. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Just picked up my groceries. Took the long way home. I saw cows, turkeys, a whistle pig (groundhog), horses, deer, a bunny, chipmunks, and the cutest baby cow on Earth. It was a good drive.

Now I have to put the groceries away, though I'm giving myself a popcorn break first. One thing having POTS has taught me is to take things slow. The groceries aren't going to go bad if they sit out for 15 more minutes. They'll survive. And so will I. Breaks are good and often necessary.

Later, on today's docket: fold laundry and make potato tacos. The laundry left is mostly mine, and most of it needs to be hung up. I've got a good audiobook to help with that. Then I'll probably take a nap and then make the tacos. I already made the tortillas and potatoes yesterday, so today is mostly getting the fixings ready and frying the tacos.

The audiobook I'm currently on is book 3 of the Derelict Saga. Sci-fi, outerspace marines, alien lifeforms, rogue AIs, and lots of action. I'm newish to sci-fi, but I'm definitely leaning into it.
